I picked up a nasty gut bug in Bali back in 1986. Had multiple courses of antibotics. Ended up with a severe candida infection in my Gut. Immune system crashed. Glandular fever and Helicobacter pylori. Blood Glucose was through the roof and became borderline Type 2 diabetic. Found a Specialist in Sydney who turned my life around. Strict diet and supplement program along with various treatments. Took refined sugar out of my diet in 1989 and started eating clean. Dont eat any gluten. Never eat junk food. Train all the time. Look after my body and it looks after me.
Crazy, I had a similar thing in 1997. Went to go for a surf and the only thing in the "outhouse" was a rubbish bin full of water next to the King drop...whipes ass with hand, splash in water, repeat. I didn't know I was young n got reap sick...I just rode it out then came home. Not long after I stsrted getting severe flushing in the face to the point it gave me social anxiety, I also had half a Hep B vaccine before I left. I've not been the same since...mental health issues mostly, anxiety, mood swings, memory problems, and barely a solid stool in 30 years. I've been trying all sorts of stuff recently but have now gotten chronic fatigue. I took TRS fir a month and had something slide down the side of my neck from my head,,,crazy, I could feel it and my throat was on fire...one night I woke up with something sliding down my throat into my stomach...I kid you not, my brain fog is better than it was, almost instantly after the TRS, but now I'm having gut and fatigue issues.

@LostCatRescue I am glad that you are also looking for answers. Almost all of it knowledge came from watching different doctors on 2 different languages and connecting the dots. My PCP as soon as the AI diagnoses was conformed no longer questioned anything I brought up to her. So yes I had a doctor but mostly for ordering labs. She even shared my story with another doctor how I was able to get my AI managed by diet and a lifestyle. I am very intune with my body, so I really don't need a doctor at this point. If I have symptoms then I either stressed too much or I ate something the day prior. Hopefully you can get to the root cause of your RA, I don't know much details about it but leaky gut is what the precursor. Healing it is essential. What causes it is stress, toxins (food and invironmental), and vitamin deficiency. Taking vitamins its only 1 part of the healing. I was taking lots of them at 1st, now only a few
@LostCatRescue also maybe you can look into a book by Casey Means called a Good energy. She talks a lot about what really at the root cause of all of these diseases. Sugar

Antibiotics destroyed my gut. I got rosacea as of result of it. I got tartar build up. I couldn't eat spicy foods. After a few months of fasting, 18 hrs to 24 hrs a day, kefir and sauerkraut. My gut can handle spicy foods now. The tartar build up is gone. And rosacea is a bit less.
This can happen any time a course of antibiotics is taken. As the good Dr. says, sometimes antibiotics are necessary, but never forget that the above experience (and worse) can always happen and use that when doing the cost/benefit analysis of whether to take antibiotics.
I have rosacea and eczema. What works for me is cut out bread, flour, dairy, spicy food, acidic foods and minimize alcohol. You cam return to all those things when your gut get healthier.

I also drank two gallons of skim milk a day for twelve straight years. Never a single problem. I still take about twenty pills a day at 52. @dianadeejarvis7074 Yes, food based multivitamin, PQQ, CoQ10, Tribulus, Garlic, magnesium, D3, 6-10 grams of Omega3 blend, mostly DHA/EPA and a few pills of mixtures for brain health that has GPC and other nutrients for the brain, and to sleep 20mg of time released Melatonin, L-Theanine, Kava and another pill that has a mixture of nutrients to sleep.
Drinking Too Much During or Before a Meal: Excess liquids can dilute stomach acid, reducing its effectiveness in breaking down food. This may hinder protein digestion and nutrient absorption. Drinking Smoothies Instead of Eating Whole Foods: While smoothies are convenient, they bypass the chewing process. Chewing triggers saliva production, which contains enzymes like amylase to start breaking down carbohydrates. Saliva also helps signal the stomach to prepare for digestion. Skipping the Chewing Process: Beyond saliva's role in digestion, chewing promotes mindful eating and allows time for the stomach to signal fullness, potentially reducing overeating. To support optimal digestion: Drink liquids in moderation with meals, focusing on hydrating between meals. If consuming smoothies, consider making them thicker or blending less to encourage chewing. Chew food thoroughly to mix it with saliva and aid mechanical digestion.
What itd be nice to hear is for someone like her to mention if you have anything from gut issues to diverticulitis and many more along the pathway, to recommend oral bpc157. People luke Gary Brecka are literally curing these issues with a few simple solutions, depending on the specific issue. Many of them are damage to the gut/intestinal tract, a methylation pathway being disrupted, and/or a weak, improper, or totally destroyed gut microbiome. So good pro and prebiotic, methylated multi, and oral bpc157.
You have digestive issues or 1 - 2 cups of coffee should be good. Try to use baking soda 1/2 TSP before/ after food and check if it helps. And take vit c 500 mg x 3 - 5 times as required to fight of nausea And maintain vit d above 10000 iu daily

I suffered from serious acid reflux for over 15 years and had to take antacids multiple times per week to combat it. I was completely cured by chance when I went on a zero-sugar, alcohol, and grains diet for 60 days. I must have had a candida issue. I have been acid reflux-free for about 7 years.
They put antibiotics and antifungals in pre-made food and pricessed foods at Whole Foods. I have to be very careful eating there. Otherwise, my gut gets messed up for a day.
I am severely intolerant to salicylates. Intensely intolerant. Which is in 98% of fruits and 90% of vegetables. Also 98% of seeds and nuts. It is very difficult, but doing so much better being on a very low salicylate diet.
Great info. Thanks. Famotadine by itself didn’t work for me so I had to do PPi along with it. I have silent reflux Hoping to be able to get off of the ppi’s. I noticed that I get more acid after eating bread which is my favorite 🤮

Thank you very much for the valuable information! I've been researching for some time and I couldn't find an answer to how the probiotics are going to survive the hostile environment in the stomach if they are going to spoil if they aren't in a fridge
So the The PPIs are OC now and its very hard to transition off them, my, my, the Pharmaceutical companies must have really made a big mistake. I was using most of these approaches with my patients 20 yrs ago, although the research wasen,t always there to back it up
Sugar, Gluten and dairy and coffee/caffeine free diet. lots of fermented foods like the korean ones or homemade coconut yoghurt. In about a year you will be healed
Great chat. Great info. But no reputable struidies say that erythritol ferments in the stomach/intestines. Simply research this fact This is not good information. But overall, I like this dcotor.
8:20 honey should be eaten raw, with a teaspoon or with fruit, and you'll see you can't have too much of it, you just feel satiated after a few teaspoons max. The moment you add it to your hot tea or baked dessert you've lost most of its benefits and basically turned it into sugar, and you can suddenly have an endless amount of it.
I find it's such a strange thing that people take a fist-full of pills after a meal. That has always been irritating to the top of my stomach. I always take pills with the first bites of a meal resulting in zero discomfort.
Only safe sweeteners are stevia and Monkfruit? No Allulose? Also grouping Erythritol with Aspartame doesnt sit right with me. There's a big difference between an artificial sweetener (splenda, aspartame) and healthy sugar alcohols like Xylitol (a prebiotic itself) or Erythritol, which is made by our bodies. At halfway through this vid and so far nothing really new, except excessive warnings I mentioned. I love Thomas but I'm not caring much for this interview.
Unfortunately Seed probiotic uses inulin for a prebiotic which is good for probiotics, but it’s also helpful to Citrobacter and Klebsiella. Not so good.
I been eating rhings with inulin like chicory root. Ive been pretty much fine, what is qrong with citrobactor? I know Klebsiella is a problematic bad behaved bacteria tho
"Arificial sweeteners so bad" is one of those popular things to say. At the same time, it's quite convenient to ignore the fact that 1) there are many different kinds of artificial sweeteners with of course different kinds of effects; 2) there probably are not enough studies to form a definitive conclusion. Not to mention it's rather cheap to claim "arificial sweeteners bad" as blanket statement first, only too add "for some people" later, and almost between the lines. Health channels sometimes come across like any other echo chamber.
ALL artificial sweeteners are bad. They still raise insulin, because when the body detects a really sweet taste it thinks sugar is incoming so raises insulin. And it messes with your gut bad. And some of them like aspartame also destroys your brain long term. Not to mention when aspartame is heated, it breaks down into formaldehyde. And you never know when they've been heated during the summer during transit or sitting in a hot warehouse or whatever.
one of the chief villains in erosion of the gut lining is the emulsifiers found in many processed foods like polysorbate 80, carboxymethylcellulose, etc.
I just felt a whole lot better after I drink a glass of blueberries with aloe vera juice in it and I also put raspberry lemon pineapple coconut all kinds of natural flavors in it
Excess fructose gives me osmotic diarrhea. Not immediately but always the next morning. Tropical fruit and stone fruits like peaches/cherries/plums also wreck me if I have too much. I love honey but it doesn't love me.
There are 2 phases to healing. An initial elimination diet is phase 1 to help identify your food sensitivities. Then in phase 2, it's helpful to gradually incorporate a more diverse array of vegetables and fruits to improve the diversity of the gut microbiome.
I'm still searching for a replacement for bread. Tried tortillas but blah! I ended up throwing them into the compost. I do eat Sauerkraut and Kimchi each day but only for their health benefits because they do nothing to make me feel any kind of satiety. I'm using L Glutamine and it seems to be really making a difference for acid reflux. Haven't taken a PPI for over 5 months now.
Number 1 should be eating food that is off, not fresh, or otherwise spoiled, even slightly and undetectably by taste, such as leftovers, cured meats, frozen foods, cheap restaurant food, etc.
I recently started taking Advil during the 2-3 days around my menstrual cycle. I eat a full meal, and then some yogurt or milk product right after (before taking the 2 Advil). No stomach issues and it is effective.

Sugar
What a great interview and a lovely woman! Thank you for sharing. Very helpful and informative ❤
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind support!
Allulose is also a safe sweetener. In fact, it is a prebiotic.
I like her and she seems trustworthy! Love the acid reflux talk!!!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for having Dr. Nam, such a helpful resource to many of us suffering from acid reflux & stomach issues💖💖💖

very happy to see her getting recognized. she is the best doctor ever.
Great info. I’m glad Thomas asked her about honey. Would be curious to know her take on allulose as a sweetener. I use it often and doesn’t seem to cause issues
Thomas like that too right?
Antibiotics destroyed my gut. I got rosacea as of result of it. I got tartar build up. I couldn't eat spicy foods.
After a few months of fasting, 18 hrs to 24 hrs a day, kefir and sauerkraut. My gut can handle spicy foods now. The tartar build up is gone. And rosacea is a bit less.
Try doing kefir enemas or straight up a fecal transplant.
I had the same issue 35 years ago.
This can happen any time a course of antibiotics is taken. As the good Dr. says, sometimes antibiotics are necessary, but never forget that the above experience (and worse) can always happen and use that when doing the cost/benefit analysis of whether to take antibiotics.
Rosacea can be demodex mites. Use ivermectin face cream. Huge difference.
How did you manage to get rid of tartar without professional cleaning? Did it dissolve on its own with eating probiotic foods?
The concept of health in "The 23 Former Doctor Truths" book completely explains this. I wish I read it way sooner
Thanks for sharing that , i heard about that book before

I have rosacea and eczema. What works for me is cut out bread, flour, dairy, spicy food, acidic foods and minimize alcohol. You cam return to all those things when your gut get healthier.
Great to hear! Thanks for sharing.

Luckily, I was a bodybuilder for twenty straight years. I took thirty pills a day for most of that time. My stomach doesn't get upset from anything. I could eat concrete, I believe. I also drank two gallons of skim milk a day for twelve straight years. Never a single problem. I still take about twenty pills a day at 52. I have added probiotics and inulin in the hopes my gut bacteria are good year around. This channel has taught me so much, I wish it was around forty years ago.
By "pills" do you mean nutritional supplements?
@dianadeejarvis7074 Yes, food based multivitamin, PQQ, CoQ10, Tribulus, Garlic, magnesium, D3, 6-10 grams of Omega3 blend, mostly DHA/EPA and a few pills of mixtures for brain health that has GPC and other nutrients for the brain, and to sleep 20mg of time released Melatonin, L-Theanine, Kava and another pill that has a mixture of nutrients to sleep.
@dianadeejarvis7074 My wife's name is Diana and we call her Dee. Just looking at your name.
Great information!

The most important thing I learned is that you ask very good questions
To support optimal digestion:
Drink liquids in moderation with meals, focusing on hydrating between meals.
This was great to watch. Straight and to the point. Have her on again. 😊

My own 2 cents: For me, Coffee is a hard NO, since I notice my digestion becomes seriously irregular when I add coffee.
Coffe is anti digestive as per Ayurveda.
You have digestive issues or 1 - 2 cups of coffee should be good. Try to use baking soda 1/2 TSP before/ after food and check if it helps. And take vit c 500 mg x 3 - 5 times as required to fight of nausea
And maintain vit d above 10000 iu daily
I really like how Thomas lets his guest speakers talk even though he doesn’t necessarily agree. I’d be interested in a follow up with what he disagrees with. These were on point. The only thing I don’t like is the suggestion of acetaminophen. It depletes Glutathione so we don’t use it.
Yes I recommend using glutathione if you have to use acetaminophen.

Thank you very much for the valuable information! I've been researching for some time and I couldn't find an answer to how the probiotics are going to survive the hostile environment in the stomach if they are going to spoil if they aren't in a fridge
I cover this in my video on Probiotics you might enjoy: ua-cam.com/video/QmURQ6P58wo/v-deo.html
So the The PPIs are OC now and its very hard to transition off them, my, my, the Pharmaceutical companies must have really made a big mistake. Its nice to see a Doc that incorporates a approach that treats the person as a self healing organism rather than a disease that requires allopathic intervention. I was using most of these approaches with my patients 20 yrs ago, although the research wasen,t always there to back it up
Mary ruddick says the opposite about diverse food intake. Indigenous sometimes only eat 3-5 foods! They have excellent microbiome
What about Psoriasis? Any suggestions?
Sugar, Gluten and dairy and coffee/caffeine free diet. lots of fermented foods like the korean ones or homemade coconut yoghurt. In about a year you will be healed
Great chat. Great info. But no reputable struidies say that erythritol ferments in the stomach/intestines. Simply research this fact This is not good information. But overall, I like this dcotor.
8:20 honey should be eaten raw, with a teaspoon or with fruit, and you'll see you can't have too much of it, you just feel satiated after a few teaspoons max. The moment you add it to your hot tea or baked dessert you've lost most of its benefits and basically turned it into sugar, and you can suddenly have an endless amount of it.
sweet, two of my fave health podcasters talking to each other :)

There's a study which indicated that taking probiotics delayed recovery of the gut microbiome.
i wonder if the weight loss potential of artificial sugars reduces potential negatives of the impact on gut health...

I find it's such a strange thing that people take a fist-full of pills after a meal. That has always been irritating to the top of my stomach. I always take pills with the first bites of a meal resulting in zero discomfort.
What about emulsifiers, additives, GRAS, etc.?
1. How can I effectively restore my gut biom?
2. Should I really take antibiotic, even if my doctor tell me so? If it had so much side effects?
Probiotics can help restore the gut microbiome. I have a whole video on this topic you might enjoy: ua-cam.com/video/QmURQ6P58wo/v-deo.html

Food poisoning such as salmonella poisoning is destructive on the digestive system. Lasting days before complete recovery.
I just felt a whole lot better after I drink a glass of blueberries with aloe vera juice in it and I also put raspberry lemon pineapple coconut all kinds of natural flavors in it
Is there a way to restore the bacterium that digests oxalates? Maybe a probiotic that includes it?
Excess fructose gives me osmotic diarrhea. Not immediately but always the next morning. Tropical fruit and stone fruits like peaches/cherries/plums also wreck me if I have too much. I love honey but it doesn't love me.
Yes honey is hard to tolerate for some people with fructose intolerance.
18:19 very interesting and good to know
Thanks for watching!
Been on PPIs for decades, I tried to reduce the amount I take but I lost. Can't get off them
What about xylitol as an alternative sweetener?
I don't recommend Xylitol; it's a sugar alcohol so it stays in the gut and can feed bad bacteria.
Can I get a gut micro biome test - what is that called or the best test ?
I like the GI Effects stool profile by Genova Diagnostics.
Hey doc there are three options for stool test, which one should I buy standard or preferred or premium? @@drrajsree
👍🏽👍🏽 Great video! I have a request for you to sit and discuss women's health with Dr.Mindy Pelz, please💛.
I think I should learn to take better care of my stomach.
How does one diversify their diet during an elimination diet? She said both are good.
Yep, when I take antibiotics and don't do probiotics with them, my stomach is wrecked.
So if my IGE is 686 it might not be environmental allergy but could be a food that i eat often?
Yes IGe is related to food allergies.
Yes it could be related to foods. It would be helpful to have a IgE Food Panel.
Don't forget about Glyphosate
