My wife had fibromyalgia for over 20 years then took an alcat blood foos sensitivity test. Some of her trigger foods were coffee, chocolate, kale and grapes. We did a one year elimination diet and she has been fibromyalgia free ever since. She can now eat those foods in moderation without issues. Game changer. This stuff works.

My throat was closing after eating foods I had eaten my whole life. The only food I could eat was goat yogurt plain. I went to so many Dr’s with no help. They offered me “mental help” but never said anything about “food”😢😞. I got down to 114 pds (as a 46 year old mom & wife). I felt weak & I was starving. My neighbor recommended “the plant paradox book”. I could barely mentally read it (my strength was too low). This book saved my life. I am 49 now & so much better. Thank you Dr Gundry. -Dalanie-

Guys this is for people who have leaky gut. Not everyone needs to be on a completely strict diet. He's helping people who have been told their autoimmune conditions are incurable. An yes when you are sick you become sensitive to a lot of foods/ things. And thats why its so restrictive. But when people who are sick start to feel like a normal person again after years of hell, they could care less about what "delicious" or normally "nutritious" foods they may not be able to eat anymore.

I live close to Andorra in the Spanish Pyrenees which Gundry mentions towards the end of this vid. And I can attest that they are NOT all sheepherders and eat sausage every day 🤣🤣 It's a rich part of Spain where people work and eat like everywhere else in this country. I would rather relate their possible longevity to the social and family oriented culture in Spain, and the clear air and good water of the mountains. Plus lots of hills to walk up and down.

Well, think about the older people in your region, they probably ate a different diet than what most people eat now. Unfortunately people's diets in Europe in general has taken a turn for the worse because of American influence. The amount of processed seed oils, pesticides and low quality products circulating are very very different than what was consumed just 50 years ago for example.
I lived in Portugal for most of my life and was born there. It is also a country with relatively high life expectancy and traditionally a very good diet with only whole foods, lots of fermented products etc. But if you look at the generations from the past 40-50 years, they are all dying way too young, mostly from cancer, but autoimmunity is also rampant and general chronic illness. While the traditions are largely the same (sourdough bread, dairy, meat, leafy greens, legumes) the recipes used in supermarket sold products often include seed oils instead of olive oil, the products are coming from factory farming of the lowest standards, the vegetables are sprayed with innumerable chemicals and the traditional seeds have been replaced by monsanto seeds.
In the countryside, obesity has become rampant. illness is everywhere. The children often have autism and other development disorders. This is not because of the type of foods that they are eating. It is about how those foods that have been consumed for hundreds of years have become hijacked by large companies and the healthy ingredients are swapped with unhealthy ingredients, and the once healing properties of meat and vegetables are now contaminated with pharmaceuticals and pesticides.
Glyphosate is STILL not banned in Europe. I personally witnessed self subsisting farmers in Portugal spraying glyphosate EVERYWHERE. The sidewalks even get sprayed just to quickly kill pesky weeds. I would see entire fields completely browned out suddenly overnight, it broke my heart and made me realize that living in a city might actually be healthier.

I haven't figured out what "organic diet" means. All foods are organic, as in, derived from living organisms. I don't know if it relates but Pennsylvania has been doing over the last decade or so, they are in the final stage of eliminating organic farms. Their intent is not only to end sale of foods that are as they grew, but also, at any time of their choosing, enter your home and inspect your refrigerator for illegal foods that you grew in your backyard without their approval.

After a 4-day hospital stay to the tune of $85,000, they sent me home saying they couldn’t find anything wrong.

Mind blowing! Sorry for those who can’t bring themselves to listen to this whole interview. (I get it because i’ve had some negative thoughts about Gundry in the past.) HOWEVER, based on a VERY long list of my own food allergies + sensitivities, my experiences + experimentation, what Dr. Gundry covers here makes total sense. When I went on a 30-day all carnivore diet, my joints quickly improved, although Leaky Gut and other GI, respiratory and heart conditions remained. I then began eating a varied diet, mostly meat, eggs, and dairy for protein, but no grains. Unfortunately, I started eating almond flour, almond cookies-biscuits-bread-almond everything. In this time my joints and bones started aching and getting weaker, am very fatigued and am experiencing brain fog again-as though I were reacting to allergens and toxins. Almond has become yet another allergen for me. Thanks Dr. Gundry and Thomas DeLauer for this interview. Good health & God bless you all.

Do you have the same inflammatory issues when you eat green leafy vegetables like kale or spinach for example?

    • @cherylh4688
      @cherylh4688 4 місяці тому +25

@@laaaliiiluuu I'm just jumping in here to say that both those greens, but especially spinach, are high in oxalates, which are like "little shards of glass" that our bodies actually store if not quickly removed with calcium (often leading to calcium oxalate kidney stones). And these stored particles can cause havoc anywhere they reside, incl in organs.
And for myself, high oxalate-containing foods have turned out to be major triggers for my formerly crippling arthritis, which was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt when I finally gave up my one last holdout - dark chocolate - and the last of my pain finally went away.
So I definitely am on the side of giving these foods up before you begin to experience the effects of their accumulation. For myself, I think it was mostly kale that did me in bc I had at least 2 cups of cooked kale almost daily, whereas I already knew I couldn't tolerate spinach. I just didn't know why until now.
There are a lot of videos on the dangers of oxalates on UA-cam, as well as on "oxalate-dumping," which you will want to be aware of before giving them up, so you can mitigate the unpleasantness of that temporary side- effect.

I think you need to go further in understanding the links between psychology and the physiology of eating.
Its how we think about food that affects how we feel about food, and how we feel about food affects consumption choices, physiology, and more.
I really want to teach you how this works, Thomas, because you will be able to help a lot of people if you get it.
I had to save my life in order to learn this. In July 2023 I was 54 kg and haemoglobin was dropping and I went to hospital for a week.
After that scare I put into action everything I know. I used a lot of dairy to recover quickly.
I was diagnosed with pernicious anaemia by the hospital. They told me I had to have vitamin B12 injections, but I refused that and got my mother to make liver paste for me instead.
I have had liver meat once a month since then and now weigh back over 75kg, more than when I was hospitalised, and I’m absorbing more food than ever.
I’ve been writing, reading, meditating, fasting moderately, and I’ve worked it out.
I understand dairy food and want to share it with you.
You can my dairy insights at this link: waragainsteatingdisorder.com/2024/01/04/dairy-the-great-lesson/
I would like to hear anything back you may have so I can tailor my writing to be more aligned with your culture and belief.
The paychological of food is gratitude.
Gratitude is stronger than nutrition and is good for gut recovery.
Accepting food is not the same as being grateful. Giving charity to the hungry. Giving the food that you want to refugees, not just bags of rice and cartons of cooking oil, is just a part of what I’m talking about.
Gratitude has to be multidimensional and ingrained. That is going to get huge gains in gut health and natural hormone and special tissue activity in the gut.
I needed intrinsic factor. I got it. I now absorb proteins and my blood cells are back to normal even though I refused vitamin B12 injections and just bought a single bottle of low dose tablets after hospitalisation.
I am a goat farmer. Raising goats on an organic tropical farm taught me about the gut. They use the elements of nature to digest and produce bodymass much more than we do. We are producing thought much more than they do.
They use minerals and fermentation more. Anyway, that is just what I could squeeze into a comment.
I appreciate your work Thomas and Stephen. I want to see you go further on gut brain axis understanding, God willing.

When I emailed waitrose, they took more than 2 weeks to let me know , that, yes it had some pesticides, but it was an acceptable amount. I asked which pesticides, they emailed me back that they are not allowed to say. Now I soak all my nuts over night with a pinch of salt and the water turns very murky as a result. I do this to stop the annoying continuous itch. We both enjoy listening to your amazing voice. You may find it odd but It helps us sleep at night time. May the good power look after you

Yes, and I am incredibly grateful for this GREAT interview too, Thomas!! And not least because I have been asking around the carnivore medical community for a year about that "sugar molecule" in beef, lamb & pork that Dr. Gundry has been warning of, and no one has ever replied or commented, at least that I saw anyway!
And I have always believed Dr. Gundry, for all the products he sells, is still a very sincere doctor dedicated to his and our health and well-being. So I couldn't believe no one was taking his warnings seriously or offering any other research to counter it!
But now I definitely believe him, and so will begin to remove those meats from my carnivore diet and replace them with bison and maybe elk!
But I have a quick question: is ALL sausage fermented, even in this country? I ask because I buy grass-fed pork sausage patties from Whole Foods, and they are to-die-for!! But not literally.😉😟
Anyway, thank you, thank you for this very informative and timely interview, Thomas and Dr. Gundry. You are both indeed "on the cutting edge" with your channels and info, and are much appreciated!!!

And to see how young Dr. Mike is, it is important for him to reflect and ask himself why most of the conventional doctors after many years of practice choose to walk away from conventional medicine. Dr. Mark Hyman, and many others ive watched on youtube were once conventional doctors.some had to learn the hard way, because they would get the diseases we get, then go to the their fellow doctors who would treat them the very way they treat us and get the same results we all get. Out of that they realize they have been lying to people all their life. Then transition over to functional medicine. The system is meant to keep us sick and have Insurance companies and big pharma making a killing out of sick patients. if this is not borderline criminal idont know what is.

I’m not a huge fan of Dr Gundry’s work but I respect it. And the reason i respect it is his ability circle back and question his own positions.
His line between pseudoscience and science supports his approach, and he said “20 years ago I would have discounted leaky gut as pseudoscience.”
20 years is a lifetime, and even science doesn’t move that slowly without other factors. Through one lens, the pharma/medical community protects its prescribed and accepted approaches to fortify revenue streams. (The beeps over particular words in this video are offered as a present proof.) I’d love to hear the lenses he sees in terms of those lenses and how to break through those friction points in a healthy/responsible way.

For many years I had psoriasis on arms, lower legs, neck, chest and a bit on the hands. I subsequently discovered it was because I was a regular bread eater (at least 4 slices every day) and it was the soy protein. Eating bread that didn't contain soy solved the problem, although I no longer eat bread at all. I haven't had psoriasis in well over 10 years. It was that experience which caused me to become interested in nutrition and realise that something happening in the gut can have such a significant effect on the outside of the skin. Soy is the only thing that ever had a clearly negative effect on me.
Good to hear you are still cancer and psoriasis free.

He did carnivore at first and had a heart attack. The doc said the only thing saving him were all the NSAIDs in his system (chronic back pain).
Apparently, his body, for some reason, started eating its own protein. My understanding now is this indicates more fat is needed in the diet. If you're going to do carnivore, you can't eat only lean meat. Definitely need to throw in cheese and eggs.

First of all, it was a matter of being compliant to the yes and no lists. But in our case, we were one of the 10% of people who did not fully recover (felt better but not fully healed) with just that. We had to do testing, the specialized food testing he talks about (Food Zoomers) where they test actual blood antibodies and such. Found several foods that we were VERY surprised about that we EAT EVERY DAY which were killing us. Its different for each person, so I would not say which ones were ours. But listen to all his latest videos and I have a feeling it will be covered in his book with the new COMMON foods he has discovered that can be a problem for many.

I do feel like he needs to do a better job at highlighting this point though because he does not realize the miscommunication.
Regarding Me - I’m a super healthy, super strong athlete that was megadose with ibuprofen post Soccer, growing up and developed “leaky gut” and I have a number of auto immune struggles which i successfully navigate with lifestyle and diet (I feel so much better than my friends that use biologics) - I don’t even use Dr. G as a resource for myself - I tried the Auto Immune Protocol elimination diet (it was torture) and then I finally found Dr. Terry Wahls protocol. She “reversed” her MS with her protocol. It was a game changer for me and helped me help myself. IT’s especially helpful bc it focuses on making sure you have X Y Z minimum important nutrient dense foods (it’s not as “fear” based).

Gundry now advocates food sensitivity tests to find out what antibodies the individuals body is producing to a specific food. He said he sees 100% of his autoimmune patients having sensitivity to gluten lectin. So in general lectins may be a problem but for autoimmune patients it’s guaranteed. Ultimately, knowing what foods you are sensitive to is the point.

Im wondering if the testing for IgG food antibodies has been improved. In 2018 I took a Genova IgG antibody serum test
My results: 🔴High 3++: almonds, wheat, garlic, *curry. 🟠Moderate 2++: walnuts, ginger.
On the results page it stated that you may not get a reaction to a food you have not consumed in a while…even if sensitive to it.
At testing, my diet restricted a lot of foods including gluten (so of course wheat ). I had almond products frequently but not so much garlic and rarely walnuts
*The curry is very confusing because curry is a spice mix but also a dish.
I called the company but no one there could answer what was included in curry.
For years I had been taking a turmeric/curcumin supplement daily, which included ginger, for autoimmune joint inflammation.
It helped me a lot and when I tried eliminating it, I had more inflammation! So, the test was not very helpful!

Regarding IGG and food sensitivities, I totally agree...I had bursitis arthritis in my left shoulder and plantar fasciatis in my left foot. I did everything to get rid of it, including acupuncture but nothing worked. At the time I was eating a lot of pasta zucchini, capsicum and tomatoes - like four times a week. I saw one of Dr Gundries' videos about these foods and I poo pooed it. Then I went on a keto diet and changed what I ate and rotated my foods much more and stopped eating tomatoes and zucchinis and, of course, pasta - wheat. And guess what! My bursitis arthritis disappeared and never came back. Since then, I have tomatoes every now and again ' maybe once or twice a week or a fortnight, and I have zucchinis and capsicum less often, and my bursitis/ arthritis has never come back! I feel great! No probably whatsoever. I didn't agree with a lot of stuff Gundry said because what he was condemning is in the Mediterranean diet! I lived in Italy for many years and saw how healthy the average Italian is compared to the Anglo Saxon. Now I realised how much Italians rotate their foods and don't put everything but the kitchen sink in one meal. Now I find Gundry more credible and less extreme. There are toxins in everything - including carrots. Carotene is toxic in large amounts but it's what cured my father of his bladder cancer when he drank litres of it until he turned orange! Nothing is bad for you in moderation. We just eat way too much of the same thing in the anglo saxon world. Eat less of everything and eat a variety of food. A bit of steak once or twice a month is not going to kill you.

Commenting at 14 : 06... Seems to me the simple (and much less expensive than going to a doc, which many can't afford) answer is to look at what you eat, and eliminate those foods that you eat every effin' day. And especially if you eat them all day long. (Of course, eliminating all the junk/fake food is Job One.) And then, after seeing good results, introduce those foods back (as desired) slowly and monitor your body's reactions to them. And then apply what I've come to realize is some of the best health advice (if not the best). Variety and moderation.

I would agree that you get IGG symptoms when you get an AD, I did get a few which I never had before my AD.
So I did a IGG and IGE about 1.5 years ago, did it in Taiwan even tho we have free medical care here but they don't believe you have any problems so you can't take any test.
The test I got even showed how bad some are, like you can't eat this one in 3 months or this one you can eat once a week, which is really good but since
I have an AD I stopped eating alot of them alltogether and now I can eat most of them again, have not tried to add gluten back in yet.
The test had over 70 different kinds foods so very thorough.
These are mine from highest reaction to lowest (only have IGG symptoms which can take up too 3 days before reaction happens) So if you have an AD you also have that problem.
    1:Buckwheat - 6 months (don't eat)
    2: Cantalope - 3 months ( don't eat anyways)
    3: Apple - 3 months ( can eat again)
4: Corn - 3 months ( don't really eat corn) but tried things that have cornstachs which usually don't have any proteins left from the Corn that people react too
5: Wheat - 3 months ( still not tried to include again)
    6: Carrot - 3 months ( can eat)
    7: Banana - 3 months ( can eat )
8: Soybean - once a week ( can eat, probably in small amount) Don't want to trigger inflammation
    9: Mango - once a week ( no problem)
10: Walnut, Cacao bean, Celery, lettuce, pinapple ( all quite low but can eat)
Hope maybe this helps anyone else that might think they have IGG or they have an AD why they still might not become better.
Try to cut out certain foods.

Red wheat is used in the US due to its shelf life. French wheats do not grow in the US easily, so climate differences are also part of the equation.
