But big part of his fame comes from his whole image (and not just his skills). When people say Slash, first thing that comes to mind is "the dude in the hat with curly hair and cigarette in his mouth", not "the dude who played awesome November Rain solo". He's just one of the guys who's more famous for his whole vibe rather than playing ability.

@guitar141144 I saw Lamb of God with Children of Bodom (+ GodForbid + Municipal Waste + As I lay Dying) two years ago in Dallas TX. That show was fucking epic.... Except for As I Lay Dying - don't care much for them.
I still think As the Palaces Burn was their best album. Since then they just seem to be repeating the same triplet rhythms over and over again. At best these guys are doing a generic version of what Slayer and Pantera did in the 90's.
