    I love this tutorial. I've been watching a couple of other SC players design various cities, and I have to say, I love the different ideas being implemented everywhere. Something I've been having trouble with when I've been playing SC4.
    As for the farmland issues you mentioned near the end, I live in a small urban corridor in the southeast, and, we've got loads of farmland out here around us. But, I must point out, that there are actually pockets of farms even within the suburban areas, but, typically these are like small family farms. So, I understand that SimCity doesn't include the smaller farms, but, still placing small plots of farmland in and around the suburban areas of a city is rather realistic.
    And I've gotta agree with Vyre12, you really are the Bob Ross of SimCity. :)

    Hey FRIEND, just encase nobody else has pointed it out to you, YOU are the BOB ROSS of SC4!!!! (LOL) What a wonderful artist and communicator you truly are, it is so wonderful to know that Mr. Ross's spirit is alive and doing so very very well!!! I have watched some of your other videos and now I plan to watch as many as possible before I go to create my little works.

    I really enjoyed this. Perhaps you could make another tutorial for more difficult terrain maps? For example In Japan, a vast majority of it's rural population has towns in valleys or just on the base of mountains with very little room to work with. It would be cool to see how you would approach terrain such as that.

    I must admit. I hate making cities this way - stating from blank and building a plan - I like to play slow and tell a story as the city develops, changing and shifting as it goes.. However, watching you is exceedingly entertaining! As someone else said, the Bob Ross of Sim city! Great looking plot and great video

  • @AntonVolnov
    @AntonVolnov 8 років тому

    Wow. Whenever I play I immediately go into VOLUME VOLUME VOLUME mode and transform the entire area into a medium and high density zones (I let demand decide where/when/what I build, which actually ends up being pretty balanced and always interesting and I end up learning something nearly every time I play).
    I have done landscaping before in nicer neighborhoods (i.e. separating road/rail from zoned areas with a row of trees) but I have never done something nearly as extensive as that.
    It does look really nice. I'll have to designate some low res density cities within a region and try something like this.
    Thank You for shearing!

    When I played SC4, I found it difficult to create a rural town, as opposed to a suburb or major city. When I played SimCity Classic, it was easy to create a rural town because I used the existing trees as barriers for everything. The trees told me where I could and could not zone or place roads. I kind of wished that SC4 had a singular restriction like this.

    Was there water and power before you started I did not see that put in? Or services like fire and police.

    • @dwyrin
      @dwyrin  9 років тому

      Tom H I believe there are few services in this town. I did my best to put them along the main road though. As for water and power. Water i was using towers to preserve the rural feel. Power....I think i hid a coal somewhere >.> If you are using more mods though I would recommend solar planels. Looks better for this area.

    No need industry if you have SPAM = Sim PEG Agricultural Mod it can maintain region until have enough jobs for skyscrapers rural things and everything else. You only put industry if your region stagnates. By this time you don't need Dirty Industry you can tax em to 20.0
