    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 роки тому +3

      Thanks so much. So for compounding I most times just use speed 5/6 and for polishing usually 4/5. For paint enhancements it will vary between 4-6 depending on the defects. In all cases it really depends on the condition and hardness/softness of the paint.

    Hi Phil....I think that the reason some (black) plastics (trims like A-Pilars etc...) show/have a haze, is because some parts (although may be black piano trim or high gloss trims) may look as if were the same, they might be produced or come from different manufacturers.

      Hi. That’s possibly true. Each make and model may vary slightly and some years they try something new and it doesn’t work, and they go back to what does work. Or sometimes they are repainted by a shop that didn’t know how to repaint pillars like these. Who knows really,

    Hi Phil. Great video again. Every videos of urs I learn something new.Took my summer wheels off my 2005 911. Installed winter wheels. Cleaned summer wheels. I get to use wheel stand I made my self. Worked great.Used meguiar all wheel cleaner after first rinse. Great to see it turns purple removing iron particles from rims. I was using P&S brake buster diluted 1:5 for rims and tires. Worked great on rims but on tires I had to do multiple applications to remove old dressing(carpro pearl diluted 1:1) and dirt. End up using la's awesome APC full strength just for tires. Each wheel took my half hour to clean. Wanted them to super clean. Putting jax wax cermaic spray coating in winter times and they goes to hibernation in my basement. Nice and warm cozy

    On the Last Coat Product that helped remove water spots? Have a question. To me? there are 2 different kind of dried water issues. 1. Water Spots, 2. Water Etching. I am assuming this product you used Phil will remove spots, but not etchings? For those that don't know what I am talking about. Spots, are just that, "Spots" those depending on the water type, generally are fairly easy to remove unless it was acidic water. Water etching, is when there is a halo or a ring that is left from the contaminant being on the car long enough that the water acts as a magnifying glass and actually etches the minerals into the paint. Some try to use just Vinegar to remove spots and with great success. I have not found a wipe on product yet that will remove etchings. Usually comes down to paint correction work to remove them. That also opens a can a worms because depending on how often this happens, you don't want to over polish your clear. I try to explain this to people and they think I am crazy for thinking this, but sometimes you just have to live with the blemishes. The etchings on my car unfortunately came from when I bought the car. Most dealerships love to use treated water and hose off cars on the lot and just let them air dry in the sun. Problem is, in some climates that can cause allot of paint damage. I was able to get a discount on the car because of it, but after polishing and polishing, they are still there. It is a VW vehicle and they are known to have very hard paint. So any tips or tricks in tis case Phil?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 роки тому +2

      Hi. Yes it usually type 1 and almost type 2 spots. Usually if it’s been on there a long time and then t starts to etch you can usually remove the majority with chemical and then the rest with polishing. I have some more videos coming out soon that demonstrate that. The 3D water spot gel is SUPER strong stuff and works really well for heavy spots and whatever remains can usually be polished off. If it’s true type 2 spots then have wet sanded before with 3000 grit and a medium polish and it did great without removing or overheating the paint to much.

    • @eppyz
      @eppyz 2 роки тому +1

      @@MirandaDetailing thank you for the reply Phil I appreciate it. With the last coat product be something to try first since it may not be as strong as the 3D brand that you're talkin about? And can use the last coat product to remove water spots on glass as well? And you do a couple of sprays on an applicator you wipe and don't let it dry and you missed it with water to neutralize it and wipe and that's it? Would be worth a try 🤔

    Huh... thanks for that tip, Sensei, about using one hand when using a polisher. When I watched you do your thing with the polishers, I copied what you did with two hands. The main hand on the trigger for balance, and the other hand on the head to steer and keep the polisher flat on the surface. But I'm gonna try using one hand. By now, I have used the cordless polisher since the summer. But one question, on fender or small edges, where it's hard to keep the pad flat, is it ok to use the edge of the pads?
    By the way, in regards to the previous video, I use the SiO2 glass cleaner from Armor All to do the inside of the windshield as well. It works as a great anti-fogging agent. Yes, the windshield and windows will fog, but when you turn on the defroster, it will dissipate that fog almost instantly. On the outside, the frost will NOT stick. It really cool how it literally just slides off. Sometimes when I am feeling like a rebel, I will turn on the wipers. LMAO!
    As far as the coating, if doing the final wipe spreads the carrier fluids to other areas in the same quadrant of where you applied it, can you extend the quadrant into a half then, if not that much liquid is needed? Or is the sweating portion important, in order to spread the coating to other sections/quadrants of the panel?
    Thanks for some more amazing content and tips!!! Sucks that Winter is here now, and days are getting shorter again... Ugh...

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 роки тому +1

      hey man. So yeah sometimes I do use the edge of the pads to get into those tight corners or lines of the body, sometimes it works great, other times i have to pull out the 3-inch polisher. so for the final wipe of the coating if you wipe with the final towel enough around the parameter it will pick up any remaining residual, as long as you check it with lights and make sure nothing has spread into the far edges you'll be fine. 😎👍

      Hi. Good questions! So if the clay is really grabbing a lot of gunk on the first pass I will fold it in and keep kneading it to a fresh side. With the clay mitt or towels I just use it on a few panels and then just dunk it in the bucket to rinse it. At the end just rinse it and wring it out and lay it clay side up to dry out. 👍🏼👍🏼

    Hey Phil another question so I put the turtle wax flex wax on my truck and the hydrophobic properties were alott greater before I washed my truck then compared to doing the final rinse it looked like it was a beading kind of sealant then changed to sheeting one. Did I do something wrong in applying it?

      Hi. Mmmm. Not sure. Sometimes build up on the panels will mask the beading effects. I will also most on the flex wax after the rinse and reactive it.

      @@MirandaDetailing but I shouldn’t have to do that every time should I? And also I got the 3D gel water spot remover how do you use that because I know it’s an acid so your not suppose to let it dry on the paint ?

      @@MirandaDetailing also it’s only been on my truck for about 3 weeks to a month so it can’t be that much build up

      Yeah you’re right. Not sure…so many variables to consider. Yeah use a damp towel to remove the Waterspot remover and don’t let it dry at all.

    Hey Phil I got that yellow and black light but idk how to change from both the ligh and the spot light to just the light or just the spot light.

      You just press the on button half way, very gentle push and it turns off one light and you can switch from other light.
