- Is the Piscifun Carbon X the best cheap reel on the market? In this video I go over everything you need or wanted to know about the Carbon X. I unbox the reel, just like you would when you first get it. I give you what my first impressions were of the reel and what I thought when I first received it. Finally, I give you my review and what I think of the Carbon X.

My right ear totally loved this
Same
After watching this i definately do believe i need this reel. What a great deal! I look forward to tell you my opinion
Nice reel. Love the color. Good job unboxing and reviewing it 👍
Keep on doing what your doing Captain Chris. Starting to like that your doing your on thing now. Can't wait to see what you & Joshua have for us this year.
What do you mean Felix? Absolutely... we plan New things everyday 👊🏼💯
I love the Piscifun Venom Reel i won from Joshua's loss "challenge" last year 😁😎🎣👊
I've horsed some decent bass & Stripers on it with no problem.
Awesome! That’s what I like to hear 💯💯💯
You know it must be a good review if the manufacturer is commenting on it :) Nice job though and it was very informative. The wife hasn’t cleared me to buy another reel yet. We are almost finished in the process of buying a house too so who knows if I’ll even have time to fish this summer lol. That amount of drag on a 3000 though sounds like it’d be a good surf reel. At least for what I’d be fishing for.
No doubt David! Thanks for the comment aw well. Congratulations on the new house brother, that’s awesome! You can clearly see the drag system on the Carbon X is a beat. 👍🏼😎
Nice review! You sold me on this reel! I ordered 2 of the 2000 size for $58 each on Prime day. One for me and one for my father. We mostly fish state ponds in Delaware and a little saltwater when we can. Can’t wait to get it. If he likes I’ll take full credit, if they suck Ill blame you! LOL! J/K Take care & thanks!
Edit: Just received the 2000 size and good grief this thing is a piece of art and buttery smooth! Can’t believe how nice it is! Gonna try her out soon, thanks again!!
How is it 10 months later ?
Awesome and in depth review
Piscifun 😎😎 absolutely
i will put this on a 6ft medium action rod what size would be good i usually fish for bass and pike
Great video! I think I need this reel on a pnk rod!
Thank you ma’am! Absolutely 😏
Great video 👍 I own 4 of those. My favorite reel. Smooth and also stealthy looking 🔥
Right on! Thanks for watching Brotha
How far will it cast a 1/4 ounce jig with a 7 mph East wind with dry line?
Knowing Chris he would likely break the rod befor the cast could even happen :P
😑😑😑😑😑😂
Well.... let me think about this one 🤔🤔🤔
As far as you let it go.
Guess it depend on if your throwing into or with the wind lol
what do you think about 4000 for feeder and carp fishing - freshwater
I have a 6'9 spinning rod thats medium extra fast, 1 piece. Which series do I get ? I normally just fish bass/walleye/pike
3000 should treat u right
I have the piscifun viper x 2 500, and I like it so far
That color 😍. Now can this work with a telescopic rod ?
Do I go with the 3000 or the 4000 for 20lb plus cohoe salmon
i've caught some big blues[ 12 lbs]with this reel in 4000 and 7.5 ft rod off the shore. good drag, good handle, good looks . reel flexed on those big guys but no damage so far.
How is it so far for offshore stuff? I ordered the 4000 one for my 10ft seabass rod
Love my 3000 carbon x reel.best smooth drag.
Great review !
Jason Brenic Thanks Jason!
Hey hey take it easy with the Penn disrespect 😂😂, awesome video
Very nice reel. price seems to be on point too.
You’re not lying Chauncer 😎
Purchased this to put on a 7’0 medium popping rod that I’m building for speckled trout/puppy drum. After watching this video, I’m very confident in my purchase! I was looking to keep everything as light weight as possible to prevent fatigue during long days on the water and I think I have hit the jackpot. Can’t wait for this to come in!
How you like the reels after a year?
^
@@leocarlos74 I have ZERO complaints!! Still smooth as butter. I even landed a 36” cow nosed ray with it. Unhooked the ray and went on my way after specks with zero issues.
I wasnt sure whether to order this reel. I actually had it in my cart on Amazon until i saw this review and i ordered it. I just hope it holds up in saltwater. Thanks.
Oh man, just seeing your comment now. I hope you enjoy the reel! I notice in saltwater you have to keep is nice a greased to keep it smooth. For the price though, its a good little reel!
Mine failed in hawaii 25 hrs of use. Grinding noise n the drag is too steep loose to tight is only 1 full turn..chk youtube wwj piscifun
Where do I get it repaired..
i bought this one but i cant use it cos its always having a backlash im using a pe line
Is it suitable for saltwater
sounds good to me. ordered.
heck yeah!
awesome reels
They have nice power handle options on amazon
Good looking reel right there, how are you doing with your elbow? Went yesterday and caught four largemouth
Elbows are getting better, but unfortunately I will deal with it forever. Surgery looks to be in the future for the left one.
@@CaptChrisCanning I feel your pain I deal with a back injury and will need surgery eventually but its not slowing me down from what I like doing
I have a Diawa Fuego 6'8" medium heavy fast rod. Currently using a size 2500 reel. Looking at this Carbon X. Should I get the 2000 or 3000 size?
I would go 3000, still lightweight but better drag overall. Take a look at the Okuma carbon ITX. I’d say it’s an even better option than the picifun.
@@CaptChrisCanning just checked it out. Not bad looking. Looks like they run about the same price as the Fuego reel. Any idea which is better?
I think all the reels in that price point are solid! The only thing I don’t love about the Fuego is the reel handle. Other than that they’re both great reels! Own both of them. The Okuma might be a bit lighter, don’t quote me on that
3000 np.
@@CaptChrisCanning what does the size mean I want to get a reel for salt water fishing that can take a good bit of line what would u recommend from the piscifun reels
Piscifun company is a very good company I have ordered 6 different reels from them i rate them a # one company
For the price they aren't to bad right? Take care of them and they will take care of you.
We were pulling it with a truck. Should be a slogan! 😂🤛
I like it!
Can I use it for saltwater?
Yes just make sure you take care of it
Sure for 1 day and it falls apart. That junk reel is NOT salt water rated at all.
Do you pan fish with that 3000 or just biggins?
No pan fish, but it would work perfectly! I’ve caught a lot of big fish on it.v
@@CaptChrisCanning okay thanks bro, I just seen a couple people using this reel, and then I came.across your review like I like.this reel and the look. Was thinking about the 2000, but you made the 3000 seem like the best fit.
@@desdes9470 Awesome brother! The only thing ive noticed, is when you use it in salt you have to keep more grease on the inside. thanks for the comments!
Would you know why the reel handle tightener doesn’t work? It doesn’t do anything, just screws off.
That’s not a tension knob on the side, just a cap to cover it. Grab the reel and put the handle down like you’re reeling and it will screw in tighter
Braid capacity on the manufacturers site reads 20lb/165yd, .234mm/150m; On the reel box is 20lbs/260y, .235mm/240m. What is the story here?
Honestly I have no idea dude
@@CaptChrisCanning Piscifun Customer service responded to me that the specs on the box are not accurate. The capacity is 20lb/165yd, .234mm/150m;
Having 300y in as you stated looks like big joke, sorry
this reel not available :(
You still like this reel?? Thinking of getting it for my jig rod
I do really enjoy this reel! For your flipping rod though?
I ordered this reel on line in the 500 size for the small ponds locally . I expect it can handle even a 5 to 8 pound bass without too much trouble . The drag actually exceeds the rating to up to 10 pounds of resistance according to a youtube review so I am stoked to fish this little monster of a tank . I just hope the gears are of good quality in regard to the material . I think they are standard zinc alloy so this reel should be battle ready with a snarl on its rotor and ready for action hehehe . I got it on line for 57 $ with tax and shipping . Thats a pretty good deal ! !
👀 maybe too small for a 7'8 rod huh..i ordered it already. Hopefully its not too small 🤣
You doing a casting spinning reel setup?🧐🤣
@@gardnerwebb3749 its a madkatz striper rod, called rock stix. Its a medium heavy spinning. I returned the 3000 and got a kastking megatron 6000. Waaaayyyy better for that rod.
Just a tip, u might want to sit somewhere where not so dark
Does Piscifun sponsor your channel?
No sir
Certainly appreciate your honesty. Great video btw
If a reel is going to get damaged in shipping that bag is not going to protect it.
Feels like they sponsored this video with a free reel for ya.
I’m just giving my honest opinion about the reel. For the price it does the job just fine!
@@CaptChrisCanning well of they didn't give you a free reel, they should now...
Yikes!! Pissy fun? I'd hate to tell anyone what brand my reel is :(
Why? For the price it isn’t a bad reel at all
Ive had many comments on my Carbon X3000.When you pull 22-24" Fluke saltwater fishing with ease nobody cares about the name. Great reel go get one.
Pissy fun
6:46 Just stop...
"A day or two or a month" a reel seizing up because it is "undergreased". Please. I have been using spinnings reels since 1972 including in salt water and have never had this happen.
Why anyone buys any spinning reel that's not Shimano daiwa or Penn I will never know
Maybe price man, you can get these things for cheap
@@CaptChrisCanning fair enough I guess haha
Don’t get me wrong. Most everything I fish is one of the names above
I guess you haven't fished with this ...
If you get tired on any kind of reel you would have to be a real wimp!
Why would anyone want to buy a spinning reel from a company whose most expensive reel costs $80? You get what you pay for, and in the $45-$80 range you are getting JUNK.
A reel having black colorway doesn't make it innovative 🤡 smells like a sponsored review
Save your money the resale is nothing
Why resell when you can get great use out of it?
That reel will be busted after 3 trips in the kyack with all that abuse it will get
Did you have this experience, sir?
No Jim try it before you judge.
@@jimcatx3090 nonsense ... I have been using this reel in ireland for a year now. I've caught everything from pike and salmon in freshwater to sea bass in saltwater. Still as good as the day I bought it. I will never spend big money on a shimano, daiwa, etc again. For the price and it's toughness it's impossible to beat. Don't judge it before you try it ...
