That was the greatest cover by any band in rock history. For Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, & John Paul Jones to be moved to tears and give a standing ovation, in my eyes, there is no greater honor. NOBODY will ever be able to touch that performance.

Heart's performance at the Kennedy Center Honors is simply iconic.
Their Kennedy Centre performance of Stairway ranks as one of the greatest live things I have ever seen.
I must have watched it 100 times and I tear up every time.

One of the most iconic performances of All Time. I can't even count how many times I've watched this video.
They knocked it out of the park. The addition of the chorus took it to another level.
It was also cool, to me, when Jason walked on stage.
For some reason I only discovered this event last year..........best cover song ever.....chorus, vocals, drums, guitar and reaction of Zeppelin so great......as well as celebrities
Probably the most truly amazing performances in my 67 years on this planet, and I was a huge Heart fan before. I still tear up every time I see it. Thanks to all involved for a milestone lifetime moment.
Ann Wilson could flatten mountains with her voice alone. Her power and pitch are incredible. I went back and listened to some old Heart tracks and blew my mind.

The Wilson sisters definitely have what it takes to cover Zeppelin. Not all can say that.
One of my favorite all-time tributes (only exceeded by the George Harrison tribe at his HOF induction and Prince playing the solo in "While My Guitar"). I have always loved Heart, from the beginning and also loved Stairway to Heaven and really all of Led Zeppelin, which was my high school years. This is the perfect fusion of Heart's intensity and an absolutely legendary tune
Ann and Nancy’s “Stairway” and Prince’s performance at the end of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” on the night of George Harrison’s RRHOF induction are the two greatest live performances I have seen on UA-cam. Ann Wilson is one of the only singers, male or female, who can do Led Zeppelin justice. I saw the “Stairway” performance in real time and have since watched it innumerable times. One of the greatest covers of ANY song. Ever.

I still get goose bumps when I Heart perform that. The nostalgia on John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page had no words to describe that moment. It was a spectacular performance!

I have always loved these two, they both look great and I cannot see anyone else covering this song after this performance.
I met Robert Plant on Sept. 15th, 2015 and I told him the performance by Heart was amazing and he said, “Yes, it was a pleasure to watch them perform.” He was gracious and very funny. I will never forget that day and this performance.
I have replayed that performance so many times. It always gets me when John Bonham's son plays the drums and then the choir shows up in black derby hats.
I think this is the reak reason they were brought to tears. Not the Wilson sisters performance.

Ann Wilson the greatest Female Rock singer of all time with Nancy Wilson does a tribute song of Stairway to Hevan for Led Zeppelin in front of Led Zeppelin and blows the roof off of the Kennedy Center with what has got to be the greatest cover of a song of all time. I have watched that video hundreds of times and I am Godsmack'd every time. The video of that performance needs to be put into the Smithsonian to be seen forever.

This one had really bad lead guitar.
Anns vocals particularly in the last part of the song are enough to bring anyone to tears. Her voice was so raw and emotional is pant hadn't been brought to tears something ain't right inside of him. She almost gets me with the emotion she puts into the line To be a rock and not to roll. The hair on the back of my neck stands up just thinking about a woman her age still belting it out there like that.
I watched this on Television and It was Amazing How They Did There Rendition of Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin with the 3 Remaining members of the group ! What A Great Show This Was !

That performance gave me chills ,Anne Wilson’s voice is superb she can sing anything,but she nailed Stairway to Heaven ,seeing John Bonhams son on drums ,the gospel Chlor ,but when when Robert Plant began to cry ,that was it for me .
That choir was way over the top .But it fitted STH like a glove. And Robert was crying over something different then the song . Seen him so that when playing with Bonzo jr. Gets me every time too. Did you catch the moment when he looked up to his dad. Imagine that , him playing "his dad's" most famous song. For his dad's band. Magic moments.
Heart was amazing and they were and are highly underrated. Their cover of Stairway was the best live version I have ever seen.

The performance was amazing…but also in no small part due to the awesome choir assembled behind them…that gave the song an ethereal shine and shimmer like nobody..including the members of Led Zeppelin had ever heard before.

So I dreaded hearing Ann and Nancy doing it - even though I loved Heart. But they achieved the near impossible: performing it well enough for even Zep to love it. Truly amazing.

Heart owned this song and the show that night
I have had the good fortune to attend most of the KCH events the last 20yrs, and I vividly remember when Heart performed STH. The energy in the Opera House was next level by the end, and it was extremely moving. When the choir was revealed, there was a pause before we realized who they were, and then the place ERUPTED! The only other time there was that much energy, IMO, was when Kings of Leon, et al, played as part of the Eagles tribute - seeing people like SCOTUS Justice Roberts rocking-out was a sight.
Above and beyond the Himalayas !

Moments like this come only a very few times in the career of any musician. When the pieces are just right, the stars align, the jumbled kaleidescope suddenly clicks into place, the clouds clear away, the fog lifts.....whatever metaphor you wish to use, everything just came together perfectly. I think it's called magic.
BTW....My personal favorite Heart song is "Wait For An Answer". I have a feeling that one is very difficult for Ann to perform.
