Sadly I don’t think we will ever see this high quality of music again, there used to be an abundance of amazing musicians who will be remembered for years to come. Unfortunately todays music is mostly forgettable. So many of my generation don’t know what they’re missing
This is sadly because of the push the music industry has been making for musicians to follow a certain framework of output of music that discourages their spiritual inspiration center, in favor of a paradigm of acceptable sound quality. It's one of those areas of life where things can improve themselves out of existence. Improvement in music should not be at the inspiration level of the artist, but only in their musical instrument skill level or showmanship. Shows like American Idol have corrupted the artist's natural inspiration center by pushing industry standards of quality. Effectively making most prospective artists robotically or mechanically shackled to the industry standards, and moving them away from their natural musical inspiration center within. This is why we see such a sickeningly massive level of crappy music proliferated due to the corporate machine of civilization. Music was meant to be shared, NOT promoted solely into a mechanism for profit. While there is nothing wrong with the profiting in music, it's the push to do so that causes the corruption of the artist's inspiration center, which has cascaded civilization away from our Emerging Renaissance Period of Art.

I blame it on the time, lot of terrible strife in the world during the 60s 70s 80s, things got better the world changed the music changed for the worse imho, music is emotional it’s a way to release that emotion built up, as the world changed there wasn’t the need to be so emotional with music, thus we get the same generic pop love ballad written by the same 10 music writers. I would say only Heart and Stevie Nicks can claim as many iconic hits. Heart had Crazy on you, Alone, Barricuda, Magic Man. Stevie had Edge of seventeen, Dreams, Gold Dust Woman, I cant wait, Landslide. All amazing songs by imo the 4 greatest female rockers of all time!!! PAT BENATAR, HEART (Wilson sisters), and STEVIE NICKS!
This is one of THE best rock songs of alllllll time. I was a mid-teen when it came out and now in my 60's it still a rock masterpiece! Thank you Heart.
Time is so strange, I was about 6-8 when I first heard this song on guitar hero 3. Idk it’s just crazy to me how I’m 22 now and now and even as a kid I found this song to be soooo good. Like aggressive but super catchy. Not like I see older people as aliens, but like I just kinda always thought like they just think and act different cuz they’re older and went thru different things than I did, but I find it so cool that you grew up listening to this in a very similar way I did but about 40 years apart! It makes me wonder if kids in 200 years will ever like hear this song or another and have the same reactions and what it must be like for them. Idk like you are about 40 years older than me but that’s all that pretty much separates us even though 40 years is a lot. Like people even in ancient times still just looked like a normal joe blow and not like so different physically that I would be able to ever know what time period they were born in. Life is wild man
I was 12 when this song came out. I recall my friend and I being driven to school by his older sister, in her Barracuda (Plymouth - '64 - '74, I don't remember hers exactly), cranking this song on the radio the whole way. One of the moments in life I will never forget. She and that car and that song were the source of endless fantasies for years to come. This was only a few miles from where the Wilson sisters grew up. I later had a daughter that was freinds with Roger Fisher's kids in preschool. I still love this song. Probably my favorite Heart song.
I grew up then I think it was a Golden Age for Rock! You could actually afford to go see a concert without selling your left nut! The EAGLES tickets going from $ 273--$$ 7653 for a show! There is NO WAY ANYBODY is worth that kind of money! Does it come with a car?
If you think this is badass(and it is) then you should listen to them do "Heartless" live. She shreds her vocals on that song. Only in the live version though.
Ann was a straight boss in her time. Power Blues soulful and magnificent range. Blessed to have seen HEART live 2x. They smoked each time. Very underrated band!
Adam Cliett yeah, Ann’s live performances are often more enjoyable and interesting than the studio ones. Defintiely a rare talent for stage performance.
@@raynjpg I cannot disagree on that - but still just not like Barracuda's simple but hard-drivin', out-of-the-blocks intro and its strong, decisive, full-stop outro.
Damn . Remember 1976. I was 16. Late night with my friends, hanging out at the lake, as we sparked up a doobie, this song came on the radio. No MTV yet, just the radio. All we had besides radio, was records and tapes. Brings back the old America. Happier times
Me too, 14yrs old when "Barracuda" came out & Ann & Nancy Wilson RULED w/this song! Sure, it's the "Achilles Last Stand'' riff but w/this excellent band they had then they take it and re-shape it to their own distinct sound & Ann's epic & passionate voice turns it into a killer original, primal & heavy all over. "Barracuda'' still hits me right in my musical soul & electrifies it EVERY time I hear it!
Indeed! This was the era of frontmen like Freddie Mercury, Ozzy Osbourne, Robert Plant, Ian Gillan, among other top-notch lead singers-- and Anne certainly held her own!
This song is a Masterpiece 🎉. The Wilson sisters are just amazing at performing and playing awesome music 🎶 I. Your music brings about memories from my youth and just good times.

This is one of the timeless anthems of Rock & Roll. . . Nobody makes music like this anymore. . . This is indeed one of the many great Rock Songs of all time.
i completely agree!! i think the most important feature of a song that hooks me is the voice. her voice is so freaking chilling. it literally gives me goosebumps when she hits those notes. 😩🤩
Today one of my 9 year old students brought an inflatable electric guitar to school. At the end of class we were waiting for her mom to pick her up. I suggested she pretended to be a rock star with her guitar. I picked this song, one that I loved in my teens, to play for her. My student blew me away because she knew the lyrics. All of them!
Ann Wilson is the best rock performer of all time. Your voice is inimitable. She showed what she can do at a time when everything was mechanical. I had to know how to sing. I had to know how to play and she and Nancy did it perfectly.
These girls showed they have their own spot in music history with Ann's piercing vocals and Nancy's guitar riffs they held their own in male rock arena💜💯
This is some amazing music, no bones about it. Ann has a voice that I still don't find an equal to. She is literally my favorite vocalist, male or female, ever (Bruce Dickinson is my very close second-in his hayday).
I was lucky enough to see Heart in 2014... Ann Wilson can still sing very close to the original. Also at the time, Jason Bonham was their drummer! Son of Zepplins drummer John Bonham. The encore song was Rock n' Roll!!! :) it was crazy
I’m not into heavy rock at all but just heard this on 5Live Huey show and it made me stop in my tracks. The bass line pulls you in but then her voice kicks in!! Wow. Going on my list of fave songs right now. 😀
this song has 116million views, how in hell is that under rated, they've been in the rock and roll hall of fame since 2013 "Heart has sold over 35 million records worldwide, had 20 top-forty singles and seven top-ten albums, and earned four Grammy nominations"
we saw them on this 1977 tour in Greensboro, NC and the crowd was going so nuts that they did three encores, with two of them being Baracuda. Finally Nancy leaned on the mic stand and said, "we just can't play any more . . ." and we were all still ready for more. This brings back sweet memories of that show, 45 years later.
@@kimberlygray1614 Saw tons of shows at the 10-14 dollar range during that time. We were lucky, and music was more than beats and some idiot talking over top of the beats. Great time!!!

Stevie had Edge of seventeen, Dreams, Gold Dust Woman, I cant wait, Landslide. All amazing songs by imo the 4 greatest female rockers of all time!!! PAT BENATAR, HEART (Wilson sisters), and STEVIE NICKS!
No plastic parts either.
Too bad she is lipsyncing... I'd be pretty disappointed if I saw this live
Left my home town this song got me crying. I lived there for my first 25 yrs. It’s different there now, and it was finally time for me to fly
Saw Heart in Tulsa the other night, and even though these ladies are in their 70s, they still rocked it.
Her voice is incredible, and she's gorgeous.
And the rhythm of the song is phenominal . . .
Probably one of the BEST rock songs EVER produced
@@Heavy-Franky The Drummer really keeps this moving.

@Michael Jackson The Guilty Dead Pedophile At least the double of weight.
This is one of THE best rock songs of alllllll time. I was a mid-teen when it came out and now in my 60's it still a rock masterpiece! Thank you Heart.
Me too!!
No shit! Same, got a wild hair went to car toy's for a kenwood/ Rockford Fosgate system.. First tune I played!

The classic rock music 1960s through the 1980s was is my down right favorite music of all time
I was 12 when this song came out.
I have a memory from the late 70s as a kid in my older sibling's Barracuda too 🤘🏼
I was in diapers when this song came out, but I really love this music! All of it.
This woman is legend
You mean.... These 2 women are legends. Lol.. By far the Best Sister rock and roll band ever!!!

What an incredible song. Still sounds great in 2022 and just shows that the 70’s and 80’s had some amazing lead female rock vocalists
Amen
when I drop this on the turntable or Pat Benatar, you can feel the passion cut into every groove (of the record and song)
True that and heart with the Wilson sisters are among the best.
I grew up then I think it was a Golden Age for Rock! You could actually afford to go see a concert without selling your left nut! The EAGLES tickets going from $ 273--$$ 7653 for a show! There is NO WAY ANYBODY is worth that kind of money! Does it come with a car?
@@allenpost3616 Yes, miss those times.
Very much so best female vocalist ever!
I am 57 and it is as awesome today as it was when i first heard it in 77 as a kid. Some songs define rock n roll, this is one.
I'm 56 & I'm taking my 7 yr old granddaughter to see them in April.
God Damn this woman's voice is incredible.
She was cute too...and still is...
Agreed
Adam Cliett yeah, Ann’s live performances are often more enjoyable and interesting than the studio ones. Defintiely a rare talent for stage performance.
In my humble opinion, the coolest beginning and ending to any rock song, ever.
Idk man, Crazy On You has a kickass acoustic intro.
@@raynjpg I cannot disagree on that - but still just not like Barracuda's simple but hard-drivin', out-of-the-blocks intro and its strong, decisive, full-stop outro.
Acdc thunderstruck
@@skullkid2083 That's a great one, too.
Roger Fisher is super under-rated. one of the true guitar greats. his mistake was sleeping with a band member
Damn . Remember 1976. I was 16. Late night with my friends, hanging out at the lake, as we sparked up a doobie, this song came on the radio. No MTV yet, just the radio. All we had besides radio, was records and tapes. Brings back the old America. Happier times
Lol. Yep.

The greatest band I ever seen back stage in my lifetime and I still jam there songs 👍🏻
Been hearing this song since a kid and it never gets old. The voice. The riffs. The beat. The bass. The band. A great rock song
Metal 🤘

Anne Wilson is truly one of a kind. Her voice is inimitable. She sang in an era when you had to be able to sing, and she could and did!
Well... You really should see Gretchen Wilson and Alice in chains perform this one.
Agree. None of that autotune shit.
Indeed! This was the era of frontmen like Freddie Mercury, Ozzy Osbourne, Robert Plant, Ian Gillan, among other top-notch lead singers-- and Anne certainly held her own!
First rate singer indeed
Ohhhh yes true that 👍🆒🇦🇺
This song is a Masterpiece 🎉. The Wilson sisters are just amazing at performing and playing awesome music 🎶 I. Your music brings about memories from my youth and just good times.
WOW she is the most beautiful woman in the world on that stage singing this song !!!
Both her and Stevie Nicks were amazing. She deserves more recognition than she's gotten

The best guitar 🎸 hero song at 55 iam trying to play my son Xbox lol

Today one of my 9 year old students brought an inflatable electric guitar to school. At the end of class we were waiting for her mom to pick her up. I suggested she pretended to be a rock star with her guitar. I picked this song, one that I loved in my teens, to play for her. My student blew me away because she knew the lyrics. All of them!

Nancy is struming an acoustic guitar, the fisher brothers are on the electric guitars hitting all those riffs. While nancys is barely audible...

One of the most underrated classic rock bands.
this song has 116million views, how in hell is that under rated, they've been in the rock and roll hall of fame since 2013
"Heart has sold over 35 million records worldwide, had 20 top-forty singles and seven top-ten albums, and earned four Grammy nominations"
we saw them on this 1977 tour in Greensboro, NC and the crowd was going so nuts that they did three encores, with two of them being Baracuda. Finally Nancy leaned on the mic stand and said, "we just can't play any more . . ." and we were all still ready for more. This brings back sweet memories of that show, 45 years later.
