You really need to ensure you fully saturate the hair when applying bleach. Also the ice toner is designed to work on a level 10 which you weren’t at, and adding the bonding mask just dilutes it further.
Yup, fully saturated this would've been alright in one bleach. The 20 volume works fine for her hairlevel, and would even lift a little cooler than 30 would. This bleach is amazing
@@ArankA006 yeah agreed. Higher volume just blows the cuticle and lifts warmer than say how a 20 vol would lift. Low and slow is best IMO :)
@@rossy7385 I've always been advised to take a 30 volume. But apparently 20 can do the work and does less damage? Is that true?
Tip for bleach that is drying out in the hair after application:
- spritz some water (from a spray bottle) over it, cover with shower cap to keep warm and moist
- turn on the shower in the bathroom and hang out in there like your in a steam room
This will rehydrate/reactivate the bleach and speed of the processing time really nicely. I particularly like the steam from the shower since it gets a nice, more even lift.
Bleach loves hot, humid, & moist... like a tropical hot day lol!
Reapplying bleach may not be as effective since you are just layering fresher bleach over crusty bleach rather than rehydrating the bleach you already got on there.
Turned out so good!
I literally just did the same process today & had the stubborn band near the top also.
Managed to get most of the banding out thankfully.
Great video for those who may have stubborn banding also 🙂
For bleaching you always need to use a cap or a bag over you head. Because the heat from your head would help with bleaching and would bleach further from the roots. And always need to saturate with more bleach.
Omg!! I have the exact same products, EXACTLY, all of them. AND I had blue hair and have the same blue, greenish, grey hair you have, plus same length roots! This is insane 🤯. Can't wait to see the results 🥰💜💫
You’re very brave, I’m glad it turned out so well.💚💚
The 30 volume would've been better because the Olaplex knocks that down to a 20 volume. But you made it work!
Omggg ! it looks awesome!! great work!
When putting the bleach on I would recommend putting it on a bit thicker as needs to be fully saturated and then put foils in between or wrap hair in plastic after to keep heat in so bleach doesn’t dry out, hope that helps I’ve been doing my dark brown roots for over a year now
Yes someone else said to saturate my hair too! Thank you! I'm not sure I could do the foils myself, it was tricky already. Maybe if I had help. Oh yes I should have wrapped my head in cling film

This gives me hope to bleach my roots correctly today hahah (luckily I have to go from dark brown to orange and not platinum blonde). By the way, gorgeous result on you, good work!
It looks lovely 😊 my only advice would be when bleaching your hair put it in like a shower cap then it won’t dry out and the heat helps it process quicker x
I don't know why I didn't think of this!
still loved the video! love your personality on all your videos xxx
Love your style!!!!
That’s my favorite hair color on you. And you’re eyes look extra great !! ❤️
Aw thank you xxx
You’ve done a fabulous job , definitely used a great bleach , one that I use on my clients ... 👏👏
Thank you dxx
Great job!
I did my own roots yesterday, and then went blue and green, loving it 👌 😍
OMG i bet that looks sick!
Looks good! Your blue and green dying videos helped! 😃😃 I have a picture on my Instagram 🙂🙂
Very nice!i think this is your best colour!when i bleach my hair at home i use for toner koleston 12,81 with a bit of purple or blue it depends on the lift!!of course i am not a professional,too...🥰😘
I feel like I'm watching myself over the last few weeks 😂 I lifted red out my hair, thought a toner would sort it, wasn't light enough so had to go in with bleach then tone again. Nearly there now, definitely a cheaper but much slower process than the salon. Thank goodness I've got nowhere to be!
Love the colour
I doubt you’ll see this, but I just wanted to say wow, you’re so pretty😍 your bone structure is beautiful and mesmerizing. Your cheek bones and jaw line are perfect🥺
Love it, but also loved the dark roots. Maybe a bit more. 🙈 and love that your hair is getting longer 😍
The color looks awesome on you! Could you do a video on your eye make up? It looks fabulous!
I bleached my roots to do a very bright red. It does need going over by a professional but I'm so so pleased with it xx
Ahh it's hard to lift it to a level 10!
Good job u saved it!!
You gave a hard try, and the final result is pretty good!
But yeap, bleaching to the desired level is a struggle in hair salons, let alone in home. 😣
I have the same stubborn brassy tones problem as you, so i totally feel you...
Love the finish
😭😭😭💓💓💓Beatiful forever 🦋
you did good!no amount of toner gets rid of the brassiness, just makes it worse...double bleach, and then tone...great results;))
If you are to do this again - unless you use foils between the sections then i would up the developer a little to inbetween 20-30 vol - i think it needed a bit of heat to incubate and help with the lift. but this looks amazing!! i adore the colour
Yeah I was a little scared to use a higher developer, I opted for low and slow for less damage, but I do think maybe a higher one would have worked better. I don't think I would have been able to have done foils by myself haha! So hard already! Thank you!
@@sophiehannah_ Not a problem!! i understand completely, i think just slapping a piece of foil between the sections would definitely help for the future - but it still came out great!!
Queen of trust the process
Literally hahaha
Am a hairdresser you did really great job
Hey lovely,
How long did you apply it to the roots before putting it on the rest of your hair?
I will do this next week. Can t wait to see how it turns out x
I section off hair and time every section... starting at front as its easiest to wash out without getting unprocessed bleach wet at the back..... when im doing banding, i set about 20 mins break until i touch the scalp, then start total 50min per section until wash out.... i use the blonde me range as i find adding olaplex is totally unessesary as it already has bond enforcement and affects process time by adding olaplex.... but i do use olaplex treatment after .... also take into consideration of how warm the house is and how long to process for.... warmer temperatures lift faster but in winter, it really slows process down 🙂
This video is so helpful to me! Think I'm going to have to do my roots myself (things are not opening back up yet in Ireland 😭) I used to do my roots myself for years but I've been going to the same hairdresser for the last 3 years and I've been trying to decide what bleach to use. I always used a 30 developer tho.
Ah so glad you found the video helpful! Oh no really?! If you feel brave then go for it. Use Olaplex and get all the hair treatments for after!
@@sophiehannah_ yeah think I'll get a few treatments for sure. I always used a loreal one but I've seen a load of good reviews about Schwarzkopf!
biggest tip is to hair a colour chart, that shows you the different levels of colour. i love the colour. ps I am like you no professor just do it for 6 years and *touch wood* no major breakage or hair lose just damaged ends. xxx
Hair colour char theory helps so much! I use it when I do my semi permanent colours
I agree with everyone else. To go as light as you wanted from very dark brown, I would've bleached twice with a higher vol developer, but used quite a bit more (you want is saturated) and a haircap over the top to keep it moist and warm. It looks awesome though!
Thank you!! I was a bit scared to use a higher developer! But I do agree maybe next time it will lift better. Thank you!!
@@sophiehannah_ can't wait to see what colour you go 😍
Have you ever thought about color correcting instead of using a color remover?
Also a bleach bath may be more effective for removing old colour/toner on the ends. Dilute a bleach mixture (like the one you had with 20vol) with shampoo - something like bleach : shampoo 1:1 or 1:1.5. Then apply it quickly all over the ends or wherever you want to remove colour.
Basically its like shampooing your hair with a bleach - shampoo mixture. You can leave it on for 20 min but sometimes it can remove the colour much quicker like 5-10 min.
Then wash it out with regular shampoo obvs lol.... Then tone your hair as normal, condition/hair treatment, and hopefully it will be more even! Just bear in mind the bleach bathed hair will be extra porous so likely won't need much toner processing time at all.
Don't use Olaplex with Schwarzkopf!!! It has it own bond protection. You're just weakening the lift.
I love it 😨❤️
Thank you!
💘Great Video💘

Happy Fabulous weekend

You should’ve saturated it much more this would’ve normally gone much lighter with blondme as long as you’re heavily saturation it does lift to a yellow white blonde. Maybe next time pop a cap on the head so it doesn’t dry out because it stops processing once it dries out. Or do a quick bleach wash for 10-15 min amd that orange root would’ve busted through and also removed a lot of the green. Either way babe looks good!
Think it would’ve taken better the first time if you used foils or a cap to stop it drying out, it works quicker if you keep it moist and warm😁 you still did an amazing job though!💕💕
Yes I don't know why I didn't think of a cap - if there's a next time I will do that. I think foils might be tricky for me to do
Caps are definitely easier! I use one everytime I do my roots and it works so much better and always lifts lighter than if I don’t use one, I hope there’s a next time I’m so impressed with how well you did!!
Girllll!!! Baking soda and clarifying shampoo with a cap and beanie or turbie twist for heat will remove that color no damage!!! You can repeat a few times if needed. When you get to a all over blonde a nice soap cap then & tone & protein fill & seal w / trim!!! 💯💫💋💝😎👌Promise!
l love itt ❤
Hola me gusta mucho tu contenido ojalá pudieras poner subtitulos en Español por favor
My problem is doing the back of my head. ☹️ I always miss a spot
You don't need olaplex when using blondme ... especially with 20 volume olaplex slows down the process which is why it was still brassy! Still looks lovely tho! I put blondme on my hair with 20 vol and leave it for an hour and a half and it comes out lovely 😍
Dear, that bleach doesn't need the olaplex, if you don't pour it on it it will work better, also do two bleach rounds if you need, the instructions say 1 cup of powder:2 of developer, works better. When all the bleaching work is fine then tone it and then use the olaplex if you feel the need. Stay safe and have a big hug xx
I agree, adding olaplex to bleach lessens the strength, bleach will only lift to certain point then stops lifting.
I'd say go for 9% next time and do an olaplex treatment after all the lifting and toning is done.
I wonder if brad mondo will rate your home job he has done your colouring before he’s amazing and I love your mad colour Adventures
Cool , Sophie Hannah I think you should blue hair more better 😊
Awesome! You just need smaller sections and better saturation next time!
U are so freaking pretty love
I've found the hardest bit is knowing when exactly to rinse off.
How long in total did you leave it on? i know some hair developers faster than others etc. but wasn't sure how long you left it. i always put cling film over my head to help heat the mixture up on my head. if hair is ginger use a more blue toner, if yellow use a purple toner.
It took me 30-40 mins to apply and left on for an hour. So for me I felt like that was long! And didn't wanna cause breakage. Yes! I think that's why the steel blue toner at the end made the most difference
@@sophiehannah_ mad to think how different people's hair develop, when I do mine with the 20% and bleach i can only leave it on 40mins plus applying otherwise I would be bald. cant wait to see the colour xxx
I used this color remover. It was so bad for my hair. A bleach bath works better and is not as bad for your hair.
Try mixing shampoo and vitamin c tablets to lift the color next time. I have platinum hair and I like to put fun colors in it sometimes so my stylist does that and it always takes them right out.
I've tried that technique before and it never fully lifts out the colour for me :( great it works for your hair though!
@@sophiehannah_ I think I just get lucky a lot of the time lol I'm sorry it doesn't work for you! :(
Vitamin-C damaging the hair more, dont do it! Bleach bath with maximum 20 volume will damaging less and it will does a way better job!
Another thing: you dont have to add Olaplex for Blondme because it contains plex! After bleaching use a protein mask to repair the hair beacuse bleach is taking off it too.

Cutte your hair is adorable hannah blessings beautiful like
I’m so happy for you this shit is so stressful for me lolol I get very panicky

if youre blond level 8 you use level 7 hair toner. ive been dyin my hair myself. and testing blonds
Use 30 vol when you bleach, saturate and it would have lifted to light light blonde and then use hair mask overnight. Then tone using 10 vol to deposit properly xx
I love the Silver Blonde. But I would wait till the salon reopen . But it Good
yes! life will be so much easier when the salons open
Te ves preciosa!! 🌹😍
Love ❤️ you
Pretty sure olaplex lowers the power of the developer so you should've used a 30 vol and it would've made it a 20 vol or something like that, that's what my friends who's a hairdresser told me😂
Yeah I've heard that too! 😃 I definitely thought maybe she should have used a 30 anyway, maybe adding a few drops of shampoo or something to bring it down to a 25 x
Oh really? I hadn't heard of that before. So maybe next time try a 30 vol - thank you!
What developer did u use for the last toner the blue steel one?
7 vol developer
😍❤❤
Fantastic job considering ur not proffesional. A ling old process but looks really nice
You look like Bimini Bon Boulash!!
Awh! You tried so hard though. But yeah, Olaplex bonks down your developer by 10. Basically you bleached your roots withh 10 developer, that won't ever be enough to get to platinum. Ah, and you should apply A LOT more bleach next time. Still a gorgeous girl though!
I love the blond me bleach I wouldn’t use anything else
I got on really well with it - my hair feels fine too after using it
@@sophiehannah_ just a quick tip if you are going to do it yourself again put the bleach on a bit thicker like icing and I find that works better xx
@@Kimchad24 yes! Someone else said this, I definitely could have used more - thank you!
Over all product cost would be beneficial for people considering doing this themselves, I love that fact you bought professional products but just shows there’s more too it than just using the right stuff! All of a sudden 6 hours in a salon doesn’t seem so bad when it takes two days to attempt yourself people! Professional gripe sorry 😂
Yes 100% product cost is why people do it from home. But even knowing how much it costs in a salon I think I'd still opt for it haha! There's definitely more to it than using the right stuff. I honestly didn't think it would take me 3 days!
Agree. I found as well that after all the extra toners, dyes and bleach etc bought to get it just right, the difference in price isn't as much as you'd think when you start out 🤦♀️
Its grey
Sore ma tutt appost? AHHAHAHA
Maybe it was better to go to a saloon
Its likely it will break off overtime. But your hair is quite short anyway
yikes girl... yikes

Sorry aber des sieht net gut aus. Und das Makeup dazu. Nicht schön.
Hair is lovely. Make up looks horrible. It's too much. You don't have to. I think more natural suits you better and also the eyebrow 🙈like ungry grandpa. Sorry but I don't like the fashion for the eyebrow at all. It looks very comically 🙊
Why did you make yourself look 60 years old with the makeup on top of the hair?
