    Hair toner actually come in a variety of levels so you don't have to be going platinum to tone your hair. Its not gonna magically lift your hair to a lighter color but you can tone down of all those red, brassy, or yellow colors

    • @jenntierneysux
      @jenntierneysux 2 роки тому +4

      it does lift the hair because it’s permanent color 😊 i’m a hairdresser!

    i wouldnt recomend overlapping bleach whatsoever, i go up to the line, some people even leave a tiny gap between the bleach and the already lightened hair because they say the bleach expands or something when it warms up (ive not tried leaving a gap tbh). but yeah actually overlapping is very risky on that very blonde hair, its already blonde, lightened, if you want to change the "yellow" TONE of it you need toners, not bleach. you know your hair more than anyone does so theres some knowledge and do what you think is best

    • @gabrielasalguero8188

      You are so right ! I ask my self how she still have hair when she overlap the bleach, so happy for her it turn out great

      @@gabrielasalguero8188I am a licensed cosmetologist with 7 years of coloring experience, the reason she is able to get away with it is 2 reasons, 1st biggest reason is her hair naturally is a medium blonde about a level 7 - 8 naturally. For her hair to get from level 7 to level 10 "platinum" is only 3 levels meaning the time needed to get to platinum is very short, the 2nd reason is bleach that is an inch away from the roots doesn't get the heat from the scalp so it's much weaker, thus why she can get away with overlapping. If she were to overlap and move the lightner down the hair shaft further, then there is a high chance she will have hair breaking off, and she will run into the salon hoping for a miracle!

    When you're a guy who is new to platinum hair (I went from jet black natural hair to platinum using your videos and Wella products) but found that I needed one more level of lift despite FOUR 50-minute Wella lightener sessions. T-18 toner. I have a friend who is a professional stylist and he told me to ovoid overlapping but I only have 1/4" of growth.
    Worried it will lead to bad breakage and/or orange roots, since my hair took so many bleachings to reach this level of blonde already. I actually like the undershadowing look with my hair, also... at least, until it hits 1/2" ~
    My mother seems convinced I have ridiculously healthy hair and can get away with it either way, we have similar hair - of course.
    You are a doll and very informative. I appreciate it.
    The only thing that happened is now my UA-cam feed is loaded with try on hauls. It wasn't intentional but I can think of worse things picked up by the YT algorithm, lol.
    Like whoa, it finally figured out I was straight.

      I have always sectioned my hair into 4 parts, and then each into 2 parts, but this actually makes it easier and faster I think it's gonna have a better result. I'm literally about to bleach my hair now so I'm gonna try this sectioning.

    ummm OVERLAP NOOOOOOOOOOO, you can easily get away with this because it doesn't take much to bleach your hair, but if your hair was very dark, and you overlapped like how you did, all the hair would snap off

    • @tomas-yourhairguru4588
      @tomas-yourhairguru4588 2 роки тому +4

      her hair is too light to have serious breakage even when overlapping, as long as she doesn't go past 3 inches down her hair shaft, but she probably has minor breakage that's barely noticeable, my only thing is don't say its easy when your hair is so easy to lighten and barely be damaged. Girls with darker hair doing an application as sloppy as this one runs a super high risk of breakage and damaged hair

  • @sprinkles_091
    @sprinkles_091 Рік тому +1

    hey ex-cosmo here. the volume of the developer and the color of the hair have nothing to do with one another, and you cannot put vol 40 on the scalp, for any reason, ever, or else risk serious chemical burns. the volume of the developer you use solely depends on the texture of your hair. coarse hair uses 30 vol, thin fine light brown hair uses 20. 10 is reserved for just making blonde demi or toner hair color stick after a bleach session. 20 is used all other hair color application on its own.

  • @courtneychristoff3720
    @courtneychristoff3720 3 роки тому +1

    Hey lovely, great job! I’m just wondering if when I’m bleaching if I’m not getting a super lightened result should I step up to 30vol?

    • @jasminehomden
      @jasminehomden  3 роки тому

      it depends how dark your hair is and how long you're leaving it on your hair :) if you've got dark brown to black hair then i'd probably go for 30vol but if you've got lighter hair then leave the bleach on for a little longer and remember to put some foil or a bag to keep the bleach from drying out and allow it to develop more xx

      if your hair is dark, do not do it at home, get a licensed professional to do it!! You run the risk of the hair breaking off! Her application was not organized enough for bleach retouches!

    • @jasminehomden

      It’s super hard to avoid overlapping when you’re doing it yourself but if you do that’s okay just try to avoid it as much as you can. If you’re worried about breakage try to wash your hair less and use hair masks to stop it from getting worse.
      If there is a lot of breakage I’d avoid bleaching for a while. Just to Be on the safe side xx
