Amazing update. Сhanging radius and tilt in edit mode for new curves exactly what I needed. Now I can completely throw away old curves. Rest of update amazing too of course 🙂
Previously I asked you for hair tool for new hair system, which was not incorporated to new hair system. But now you did to create quality hair style with lot of varieties 🙏😊
You addon is amazing sir. If you could add a feature to use dynamic simulation for hair system, like basic blender has for particle hair. Would help a lot with long hair, basically add a few strands and let it simulate with collision on the head and bake that simulation.
I will see about that. Shoul no be that hard. I have to make more video tutorial first though. And I'm afraid sim will be slow ... Calculating all the interpolated children takes some time.
Thanks for new features and showing them. But to be honest for people starting with your addon it is confusing without a complete walkthrough with an example. You have old videos where you do a walkthrough but using those I quickly ran into problems because of a lot of changes in the addon.
Yes, as mentioned at the end - there will be new videos showing how stuff works. I felt that old customers should take priority, thus I made this video showing how to transition from old version to new one. But there will be more vids. Btw. I recommend checking out hair library, to see how things are done there.
Don't think you should have dropped support for particle system hair. It's still a feature in the very latest version of blender, and people still use it a lot. Guess I'll go back to one of your older versions of your tool, and hope I can get it working.
Yes, but this would mean basically maintaining two plugins at same time. The new hair curves use completely different python API, so I decided it would be to much work to maintain old particle hair and curves. But u can do 200% of what old particle could do, and it is faster ..
Wow - superb update. Looks like it's time to upgrade to Blender 3.6 so I can run this new version of Hair Tool. Would like to see some more detailed info about the Curve and Mesh profile types in one of your upcoming videos. I use Hair Tool in my workflow primarily to make stylised 3D mesh geometry hair for manufactured collectibles/figures, so my workflow is the opposite of most: rather than creating hair cards to create low-poly game engine geometry, I use it to create high-poly watertight geometry that can be 3D printed... both achievable in your system!
I guess I should add this video to the long list. For now I can recommend docs about mesh profile: joseconseco.github.io/HairTool_3_Documentation/hair_profiles/#mesh-profile The curve profile - behaves exactly the same as curve profile in 'old' curves . I'm glad you like the addon.
Hi best and easy hair creation tool thanks. Can u do a tutorial of a complete hair process by using hair library because there have been so many changes i can't keep up with it.
Make sure special 'HTool_UV' node is connected to your texture - see joseconseco.github.io/HairTool_3_Documentation/faq/#how-do-i-change-hair-texture. Lastly - there was issue in past, where baking scene would use old profile geometry nodes setup - resulting in invisible texture. The fix for that was - update profile node from this menu: joseconseco.github.io/HairTool_3_Documentation/hair_profiles/#profile-menu
please tell me why when I bake my hair system to work with a comb, it disappears from my list of systems and then I can’t use deformers... you did this in previous videos and you didn’t lose anything... and also.. .in one of the previous videos you can’t see the guide curves (hair) and you can see the already generated hair, how did you do it?
your addon is great but it is quite diffcult to understand when a newbie like me picks this type of advanced addon..i hope you will add simpler examples that are easy to follow in future
Hi - have you see this part of docs - joseconseco.github.io/HairTool_3_Documentation/#quick-start ? Yes I plan to make shorter, more focused videos (eg. making eyebrows, eyeleashes - under 5 min I hope)
It would be much easier to follow if you started this from the beginning and show how you set up a mesh for drawing on it. Because just taking any mesh or even a mesh from your library, trying to draw on it just moves the mesh.I bought this 3 years ago, and have tried to use it 3 times. I get so frustrated trying to learn to use it, I just drop it. If anyone has links to beginner videos for hair tool 3.2, they would be greatly appreciated. Edit: I see now you have to press 'D' while drawing the hair.
Have you seen docs: joseconseco.github.io/HairTool_3_Documentation/main_workflows/hair_drawing/ ? I want to make new introduction video soon, about when to use which feature.
