Came here to say that after a year, it’s an absolute lifesaver and it’s real easy to use.
I had completely forgotten about the alignment. You are my hero.
I use the elite strap with battery and this dock without issue. Just unplug the battery. You want to disconnect it when not in use anyway or it’ll drain. Just plug the attachment into the headset when you want to use it.
#FACTS
same
Thank you so much! The blinking yellow lights had me going!😝
''I've never replaced my controller batteries''... ohhhh we have a casual over here. you got to bump up those numbers. those are rookie numbers
?
Fr I've ran through a battery in a month 😂
Ordered this last night after watching your video!
The instructions say to turnoff the unit when not in use even though there is not button to do so. That said, my concern is whether or not you can just leave the headset and controllers on the charging station while it is on indefinitely.
Just hold the power button. If you are in the headset a menu will appear to shut it down, or just keep holding and it'll hard off.
is “the unit” the quest or the charging dock?
I had that same question. Its always recommended to shut off the oculus after the light turns green. So this unit is of no real value to me, since I have a stand for mine, and it had also been recommended to use the charger that came in the box of the Oculus. So this is a pass for me.
@@sketchum1959 Who recommended that charger? Oculus/Meta itself?.. because obviously they'd recommend using their own validated charger.
There's a lot of crap and dangerous chargers and cables out there for cheap (China junk) for all kinds of electronics devices. Naturally for a company it makes sense to recommend their own stuff as they don't want to be blamed for the consumer blowing up their device using a cheap shitty cable/charger.
Anker is a very reputable company however, and I have a lot of trust in their products.
I see more people here talking about shutting off their device, as if this is something they don't usually do already... is that really the norm? Do people just take off their headsets and plop them down somewhere until next time they use it?.. damn.
I ALWAYS power down my headset after each and every use; just seems like good etiquette to me. :)
@@ayporos Anker is all manufactured in china.lol
Just got mine for 50 bucks brand new from my friend. Happy happy happy
Is there a separate magnetic adapter to buy if I want to keep quest 2 charged with elite strap battery pack and not have to keep removing the metal button that facilitates magnetic dock charging?
that would be great
F**K I just bought both the elite battery pack and the maker charging dock 🤦🏾♂️
@@ericwright3482 lol, the work around just means you have to pull the magnetic thing off then you want to use the elite pack. It's not a big deal really, unless they're really that lazy and can't spend 2 seconds to do so.lol, the magnetic piece just stays magnetically connected to the charge doc
@@BeyondTheMind007 can you explain? Do you mean you plug the back part in?
SEND HELP HOW DO I REMOVE THE METAL BUTTON
Any suggestions for magnetic charging cables that might be compatible with the circular connector that you put into the headset? I have a DIY battery bank setup for my Quest 2 so I can play for longer than 2.5 hours at a time, but I'd have to remove the circular connector every time I use the headset if I want to keep doing that. That kind of defeats the whole convenience factor of this charging dock, so I'm hoping I can find a magnetic cable that will connect to the headset from my battery bank. I really wish Anker made a separate, external cable for this purpose.
I'll be honest, your best bet is to buy ANOTHER dock and tear it down to see if you can get enough of the cable in the dock out to where you can splice it with another cable.
Ik it's late but you can just buy a magnetic usb c cable
Omg this is a save I had miniatures in wrong😅😅😅
is there a way to buy only the magnetic charger for anker? my son los his magnetic charger and he wants to know if there is a way to buy it separately
4:20 nice
cringe
why is my left controller blinking
Because it ❤ you,no seriously I haven't a fuking clue
Just got the charging dock, I assume the batteries that come with the dock are rechargeable, ( It is not written on the batteries that they are rechargeable ) And there is an orange flashing light which means according to your video that there is something wrong
Yes, the batteries are rechargeable. If it's still flashing, make sure the metal contacts on the batteries are positioned to hit the contacts on the battery covers. Sometimes I have to place the controllers in the dock a couple of times to get a good contact where the lights don't flash orange. Hope that helps!
Thank you, it is working great
The controllers just charged with battery?
How long will the controllers hold a charge using the Anker dock? I'd like to use Silicon covers but they won't work with this. If I'm only removing them every 6 months it's not a huge problem.
agree.
I bought the silicon covers, and they wouldnt fit int hsi dock *eye roll*, I even cut holes out to get them to fit but there's no chance so now Ive got rectangular holes in my silicon hand grip covers.lol
For some reason the controllers do not change
Any idea where your shelves are from? I really like the look of them!
I have the quest and I brought the dock but it's not charging the head unit but will charge controllers
Whenever I try to charge my left controller it gets super hot and it barely charges
Also how long will the battery on the head set last, without it being on the charger or is it safe to always keep it on the charger ?
I have the same question
I have one and it doesn't charge my left controller no matter what i do i read the instructions and followed it thoroughly and still nothing I even have it plugged in to the outlet directly still nothing I don't recommend
Do you find hard to snap the headset into the wireless charger? Do you think it’s damaging the charger port with time and use since you have used for a while now
i don't think so,the charge port is magnetic and the magnet part plugs into the oculus. and if property plugged in shouldn't come out. I haven't had it for long but it definitely seems better then using the charger
can i use my own batteries after
The headset isn’t charging for some reason. The controllers are charging but the headset doesn’t have the light on to say it’s charging. Help 🙏🏼
Did you power it off?
Make sure the magnet is connected on the side
just bought one!!!
mine doesnt work, controller doesnt charge, flashes amber, any idea?
Do you have the battery rotated so that the metal contacts on the battery are touching the contacts on the battery cover?
I had the same issue on one of the controllers. I fixed it by prying up the little metal tabs that make contact with the batteries. I guess they were too “flat” and weren’t making proper contact with the batteries. Works fine now.
I get a vr for fuirst time like this this one i get and i want to see how to use
Is it just me or were your guys's controllers getting hot after using the anchor dock?
Hmmm I’ve never noticed that
@@9to5toys I think I fixed it Which is good
Dang I wanted a elite strap with this
You still can but with the battery pack u just have to unplug if
How well would everything sit with silicone covers for everything?
not good..
Can you use your own rechargeable batteries?
Yes
I don’t believe so, their rechargeable batteries have metal charging points that need to make a magnetic connection in order to charge correctly. Normal rechargeable batteries will not have those connection points on the side.
Can the headset charge by itself cause mine has no lights on when I put the headset in
if I keep my oculus on the dock overnight, could it damage the battery or there should be no problem?
overcharging your oculus will damage the battery, so yes.
Do I have to worry about leaving the headset, or the hand controls on the dock for too long, incase of overcharge, and ruining the battery life?
Nope. It will know when it's at 100% charge. And it will automatically stop charging when reaches to 100%
@@jazbul314 it helps alot when people like me forget easily, I really don't want to deal with a melted port I've been hearing about.
i dont understand how the dock interferes with the headstrap, the strap charges with a cable so couldnt you just charge it, and when your gonna use it just take out the magnet and plug in the charger, or would that not work?
The elite strap battery will not fully charge when not connected to the quest 2. That would work though if you're fine with that.
So I can still buy a charger and I still can buy and elite straps but not the one the is the elite storage batterie one
Handle charging dock
I can’t get the magnetic charger out of the quest
HAs it come out
Did… did u get it out?
it breaks if u keep on taking it out
@@Ricaneswag Is there a way to?
@@krodoodler3124 pull it out with plyers I did it a few times but it breaks. Giving u the warning....mines broke
ight but how do you get the magnet part out of the quest 2 so i can charge it with a type C instead of the magnet
Handle charging dock
so when the batteries are done i just need to buy another two rechargable batteries if so could you send me a link to a site to these batteries?
Oh my
Rechargeable means rechargeable, they'll recharge after use and you won't need to replace them unless something were to go wrong with them
does it stop charging once its full? i heared its really bad over charging the headset with the cable im guessing its the same story
No after a ton of researching on my part, This charging dock will stop when the quest 2 is at 100%
So, I wouldn’t be able to use covers for my controllers while using this, right? Being that it needs to make contact.
Correct. You'd need to take them off every time
it comes with special controller covers with holes in them for the charger ot be able to make contact with the controlelr battery without taking the covers off
@@syneydesign That is correct, but I think LivSimple was referring to knuckle grip covers/silicone covers that go over the controller handles. Knuckle grips are what I was referring to that you'd have to take off every time. Unless I've misinterpreted what they were saying
do you thing if i have the htc das it will still fit?
does it have over charge protection if so does it work
Now this is the real question
how do you remove the charging magnet out of the headset??
you just take it out
nice i may buy it.
can it work with quest 1?
No they're different sizes arent they?
I’ll buy it when I have $200 more than $300
this fucking dope
Hello, can I leave the controllers,as well as the headset always in the switched on docking station?or goes then what defeckt?
mfg.micha from germany
After it reaches 100% battery (Quest 2) does it cut off the power so it won't overcharge and ruin the battery life? Please someone answer
@@2DBroz Thank you so much. I appreciate you. Want me to sub?
@@2DBroz Ok I will
hey so im not sure if this is normal but whenever im charging my quest 2 on the anker charging dock and it finishes charging, the light on the headset itself turns green but the light on the charging dock stays orange. any fixes?
Same for me
Does anyone have this issue for the headset doesn’t have a solid green light and show a blinking amber light? I made sure that the headset was put to sleep then place into dock. Anybody have any idea to fix this? Thanks
Note - While charging it make the Oculus chime and then silent over and over constantly
On the batteries, make sure the silver parts are positioned to face where the charge is at. Facing up
Im 12 years old
Garbage, it doesbt charge most thr time
