- Hello and welcome to episode 24 of Missle industries XC Ford Falcon crusty wagon project! When this wagon rolled into my shed all those months ago, my initial plan was to turn it into a parts car by stealing all the goodies off it that I wanted and sending the rest to the scrapper. BUT as I looked more closely at it I couldn't bring myself to sacrifice a genuine V8 wagon for my sedan ambitions, especially one that was so rust free for a 47 year old car!
I wasn't into it for much money and I'm still not, so I thought to myself why not have a crack at tidying this old girl up and turning her into my very own wagon project! After last weekends walk around video I have been left with a number of mechanical issues to address but all of that is going to have to wait until the car is painted and reassembled.
The reason I'm painting first and not doing all the mechanical work is because cars take up a lot more room when they are disassembled and I'm not even sure I have all the parts to put this car back together.
So the plan is to paint, reassemble in the not too distant future and then build an exhaust, replace all the bushes and ball joints, throw down some carbuilders sound deadening and re carpet the the interior all on a shoestring budget!
I am looking forward to seeing this XC Falcon crusty wagon completed and finished fully restored.
Love the red hot go and the can do additude. You will have made a great basis for someone down the road to build upon.
Well done keeping the V8 Longroof alive, they are a fun thing to have.
Keep up the good work, she is looking good👍
This is coming along really well.. can’t wait to see what it looks like when finished.
What paint did you use > 2k of acrylic, cheers.
Acrylic, from an automotive paint shop for the Neptune blue. SCA for the white.
