    Peanut in India people do boil it and add salt then eat it traditionally. It eliminates aflotoxin poisioning .So there must be comparative study on roasted vs boiled to be done since boiling completely changes the nutritive profile .

    Almost a year ago I started washing the peanuts and walnuts I eat each day with just water and about a teaspoon size sprinkle of baking soda, which is excellent for washing off pesticides on vegetables, too. To make sure I get as much of the toxins off, I shake them in the baking soda-water mixture for about 20 seconds (with a tight lid of course), then rinse them with water the same way, at least 4 separate times. The whole process takes a few minutes, but when I'm done, the peanuts and walnuts are so clean looking, and still taste good. Obviously they are no longer dry, but you can just dry them on a paper plate or towel if you care about that. There are studies that show how effective baking soda is for removing common pesticides, so I presume that peanut mold would also be washed off well. Anyone else do this, or know more about it?

    I like Kroger's dry roasted unsalted peanuts that have nothing added to them, just peanuts. I add sea salt. Yes, I know they are not organic, but hopefully the dry roasting burns off any fungus and toxins.
    I juice fresh celery, parsley, cucumber, and cilantro and I use a lot of tumeric regularly. And I take NAC, milk thistle, ginger and dandelion root almost daily. And I fast and eat healthy keto daily. So I am not worried about eating peanuts because the body can detox and your immune system will kill cancer cells forming if you do enough good things to offset the bad. I like them and they are cheap.

      You fix this by soaking the nuts a few hours up until a few days. Change the water out every now and the alkaloids that may be present will be discarded along with the water. Alkaloids dissolve in water. This is how people used to soak their ancient grains before greedy businessmen figured they don’t need to do this. Ancient grains are a great source of life is soaked. Its with roasted flaxseeds? I love flaxseeds very much, but they confuse me big time. First is that drBerg said they are highly estrogenic. When I googled it, it said that its "good estrogen, not raising estrogen in humans, but actually fighting it"'. Other thing is that I found out that fat in flaxseeds is highly photo sensitive, and has a really low smoking point, and is one of the easiest oils to go rancid. So I don't understand why someone would roast it, and then jar it and give someone to eat it, when it has such a low smoking point? How is that healthy?

I ferment mine in water and a little whey from straining my homemade yogurt. You could also use sea salt if you don’t have whey. I ferment for 48 hours and then rinse my nuts really well in cold water. Then I let them dry on a big baking sheet for a few hours and then pop them into the oven overnight for 12 hours on the lowest setting my oven will go to which is 145 F. By morning they’re completely dried out and you can make nut butter from there 😋

      From what I've learned, you would have to eat a lot of flax seed to have negative estrogen effects. A sprinkle won't do anything, and whole flax seeds usually pass undigested. I've been eating ground flax mixed in my oats for a few years now with no noticeable effects. For me anyway, the health benefits outweigh the risk of a minor estrogen increase. Best peanuts are actually grown in dry, sandy soil. They don't grow well in heavy, wet soil. I grew up on a farm in SC. My cousins grew peanuts commercially. Boiled peanuts; what about them? They are fresh, green peanuts. I grow them myself! Thanks for this though, I'll be more careful with the harvest, drying and storage to avoid aflotoxins.

      I really want to try boiled peanuts. I have a friend in New York that eats them all the time. I am out here in California and had never heard of them til about a year ago. They sound delicious. 🙂

    • @delphinekirkland1757
      @delphinekirkland1757 3 роки тому

      @@jewelsbarbie I grew up with boiled peanuts, "parched" peanuts and sweet potatoes as an evening snack when we watched TV...never chips or junk food! I would come home from school and there would be a mountain of fresh peanut bushes under the oak tree! My uncle Enos would have dropped them off. I would have to pick them off the bushes, put them in a 5 gallon bucket and wash the sand off of them. My mother would pressure cook them with salt and freeze them.
      Be aware that some sell dry peanuts that have been boiled. Bad form! Not the same thing at all. They actually taste similar to edamame. In California you could easily grow peanuts. I'm in the mountains if western NC and it's a little trickier.
      I was shocked when I found out there were people with horrific peanut allergies. Everyone I knew ate them and I'd never heard of an allergic reaction.

    Was buying peanuts at Walgreens for my own nut bars....they are 2$ right now...anyway I’m going to Trader Joe’s soon and happy to know they have this. But was listening to a podcast earlier and the doctor who is an MD said that nitrites/nitrates that are added to lunchmeat are a myth that they harm you, and to eat lunchmeat anyway because of the protein esp when trying carnivore. Not only did he say it was a myth but he also said that celery had more nitrites in it than lunchmeat did...which was surprising. Was wondering if you had heard this...and what your thoughts are? Thank you
