Here are some key takeaways: 1. Fatigue and low energy often stem from dysfunctional mitochondria. Mitochondria are the "powerhouses" inside your cells that produce energy in the form of ATP. 2. Things that support healthy mitochondria include: the ketogenic diet, nutrient-dense foods like red meat, exercise, cold therapy, some phytonutrients, avoiding refined carbs and sugar, managing stress, and avoiding toxins. 3. Coenzyme Q10 is an important nutrient that supports mitochondrial function. Many common medications like statins can deplete CoQ10 levels. Supplementing may help increase energy. 4. The brain uses a very high percentage of the body's ATP. Boosting mitochondrial function can have profound effects on brain health and mood disorders. 5. Making more mitochondria (through exercise) and repairing existing ones (through fasting and phytonutrients) is key. Damaged mitochondria produce less ATP. 6. We have only a small reserve of ATP available at any one time. The ketogenic diet allows us to tap into larger fat stores for fuel when needed. In summary, supporting mitochondria function through diet, lifestyle, and strategic supplementation can have a big impact on fatigue and energy levels.
For me : Read the Bible Walking Sun bathing Eat super foods Take nap Sleep well Gardening Take supplements Drink teas ginger , garlic, whole lemon , turmeric, cayenne, cinnamon, clove Green tea I grow many herbs in my garden , I use each one to make tea
The bible and super foods are both fantasies so they won't help you. If you're eating right you won't need supplements unless instructed by your doctor. Sun bathing though great for vitamin D can quickly be a negative if you do it to much. Nothing wrong with tea unless you put a sweetener in it, but I don't think it does a ton to get your daily nutrients. Maybe swap out some tea for a fruit and vegetable smoothie.
As an engineering student, I used to completely abhor biology and similar topics but Dr. Berg is the only person who is able to pique my interests with that particular area. That said, he has also inspired me to live a better lifestyle just by following his war on all things sugar. This man is literally trying to save humanity, I hope people realize that.
This gentleman changed mi life, I was overweight, I was a busy mom but didn’t exercise, one day I bend to grab something from the bottom shelf in the store, I screamed bc i felt I was flying, unstable, my kids got very scared asking what is happening ( Thank God I started to feel better, from the vertigo) I knew it was time to change, luckily I found Dr. Berg and started fallowing I changed my diet, exercise at home, I haven’t felt vertigo in almost 2 years and my weight I feel very confident.
Thank you Dr. Berg. It's true, exercise increases energy. It's the cure to getting out of the tiring cycle of having low energy, eating comfort foods, getting lazy and feeling depressed because sluggish/out of shape. Daily exercise is a must and a life hack!
This is probably one of your top five videos of all time, Dr Berg. It’s so clarifying, even with all the technical jargon, and incredibly motivational. I truly didn’t grasp in a concrete way how important exercise is until I was about halfway into this video. Great work, and thank you!
Have you read the book statins how they kill us one cell at a time? There is an interview on UA-cam with a gal who is interviewing the two Drs that wrote the book. Very interesting. In a nut shell It seems statins do take the cholesterol out of the blood, where it's tested for and it shoves it in the closet!!! , Which is our cells. So it's still in the body. It's like a hoarder cleaning the house and stuffing everything into the closet until the door falls off or the walls bust out. And that's what happens in the cell. They stuff the cells with cholesterol and the cells rupture and that causes the muscle weakness and pain people on statins experience.
@@DrbergCan't filtering your water be detrimental to ones health though to a certain degree if you're not getting some of the beneficial minerals and components, which the body needs, that are removed via filtering. One 'filtered water pitcher' system in particular, which can be found and bought at many big name stores, seems to remove all minerals from tap water (tds testing on residential tap water filtered by this pitcher system shows a reading of 0 ppm). From what I understand if someone drank this tds filtered (0 ppm) water exclusively their bodys ph levels would be negatively effected and thus their overall health as well. Is there truth to this and would ones diet and/or a multivitamin and mineral tablet or capsule negate these effects? Thanks👍
I’m surprised Dopamine wasn’t mentioned here. The No.01 thing that makes me or anyone else tired is the use of modern technology and screen time. Because it hard wires your brain and depletes your dopamine level. And dopamine is your energy driving force. It’s like the steering wheel form to rest of your engine
i can easily play 24 hours if i can sleep 8 hours afterwards (inbetween) for multiple days. in fact gaming keeps me awake. listening to stuff without acting myself, e.g. my prof at university though....:D makes me feel like i need to bite my tongue to stay awake. though i use darkmode in about anything, maybe that helps.
In my case, it was carbs, high carbs. Including sweet fruits, potatoes 🥔 low stomach acid, false data on saturated fats, ect. Didn’t have much contact with modern tech, beside the very basic.
Maybe it's true for some poeple, but not for everyone, there are some people brains of whom are very resistant to any form of help. I've tried keto diet, currently I'm on low carb diet, in the past I've been diagnosed with depression and took some ~30 various antidepressants and various forms of psychotherapy over years - neither helps with fatigue. After years of trying I learnt to force myself to exercise at gym 3 times a week - fatigue is reduced for some 30 minutes after exercise and returns to the ugly "norm" after. At my age of 42 I should have family and be pretty rich (I'm a computer programmer), but I'm alone and rather poor because od depression and fatigue (and frequent job absences or changes because of that).
Love this. The dedication it takes to stay energized is so amazing, yet paradoxical. It’s so easy to make poor diet choices, stay up late surfing the internet/media and not exercise. But those temporary dopamine hits just make things chronically worse. You would think preserving energy means you have more of it, but that’s only true for animals who live to survive. Humans have to stay stimulated or productive to maintain high energy because our basic needs are met (in most places)
DR BERG! i had a ‘feeling’ about your health, nutrition, and lifestyle videos about six months ago… your ‘Glyphosate Detox’ video i saw yesterday was the best advice for living well and recuperating from glypho i’ve ever seen!! (and i’ve seen a zillion of them ‘cuz i HAD severe glypho toxicity). Then you cap that video with THE BEST HEALTH & DIET ADVICE EVER!!.. for everyone!! if everyone followed your recommendations the whole world would be a much healthier and happier place!… simply outstanding Doctor Berg!! ( you and Dr.Stephanie Seneff are the BEST!!) best wishes from Calgary Alberta!!
I have had this lately, I have been poor at keeping up with my Keto regime, too many invites to friends for dinner, it was amazing how easy it was to get out of my keto routine. I gained 3 kg. So I am very annoyed with myself. I'm back on one meal a day, 24 hour fast, plenty of meat, salads and eggs, I felt great when i was down to around 76/77 kg, lots of energy and more motivated too. Definitely those carbs and in particular sugar is really bad news, avoid at all costs!
Not easy to be surrounded by “friends” lol. You may want to bring some Dr Berg’s recipes next time, so much so that their tables won’t have space for their own foods…😊😊
Dr Berg, i wanted to take the time to show my gratitude to you whole heartedly. Ive been watching your stuff for about 3 yers now and i find it very helpful and enlightening. You are a good human being who is going out of his way to get people better. sorry to hear about UA-cam's taking down and blocking of your videos. Have a lovely day from Okan in London.
Just shifting my sleep schedule back two hours while sleeping the same amount every night has greatly changed my energy throughout the day. I then added at least 100oz water a day with a one gallon target. Those alone changed me greatly. From there it organically adjusts your eating habits, energy levels to exercise, motivation, etc.
So helpful. I’m in my early 30s and energy levels are going downhill but they shouldn’t! Soo hard to get through the day and feel full of energy like I used to.
I can’t tell you how many times things have come up in my life with me or family members and dr berg comes out with a video on that specific issue. It’s wild! Thank you dr berg! ❤
I've been suffering from candida for 2 years bcs of antibiotics. I started keto and intermittent fasting a week ago and now I feel much better. What I noticed is the amount of white coat on my tongue decreased as opposed to when I consumed sugar on a daily basis. I also cut off carbs, but it's difficult to cut it completely bcs I am underweight and started losing weight very quickly. But anyway, I HOPE TO RECOVER and get back to my normal diet with little amount of carbs. Thank you dr Berg from Uzbekistan.
This used to be me. I'm most of the time fat adapted but sometimes overdo with the workout and hiking in same day. And am always looking for ways to improve my sleep. TY Dr Berg.
Dr Berg. your description of what to avoid confuses me ,,that you’re saying the keto is good or avoid the keto diet? Thank you for your helpfulness and sharing!
The other elephant and in my opinion is EMFs from smart meters, smart devices and here is a huge booger Street Lights!!!! They are blasting huge amounts. Notice if you have a small street light or much longer near your house they both put out the same amount of light but the bigger puts out more EMFs. Why do they need more EMFs?
If anyone doesn't like eating liver or heart, i found a good supplement that is made of the organ meats. It is made by ancestral supplements. It is made with grass fed beef. Hope this helos some one.
Generation today should feel so great ful for all the knowledge available at fingertips. We have never left them a crap world or have we robbed them from an amazing future. Quite the contrary. I wish Also I had known. It was always a destiny. The pathways are now with spiritual, mental and physical health as gifts to those with eyes open, ears that hear and with the heart leading the way.
OK I am a self-confessed, carbaholic and sugaraholic, and suffer from fatigue as a result, so the extent that I can’t function or work, so this video is hitting HOME # hard, and I guess all I would ask, is for those of us that are thankful for this information and needing it, When it comes to switching over to a keto diet, if that is, indeed what it all comes down to, are there any specific suggestions as to what to put on my shopping list besides (in addition to) meat and eggs? To help quick start the process? I am desperate enough to now put the effort into cutting out the sugar and kissing goodbye the carbs I so dearly love and cherish, but I need help knowing what to replace them with. And yes, of course I can research and watch other videos. I just thought I’d use this little opportunity to ask.
I do believe it is proper to note that most health related issues stem from the base of a unhealthy lifestyle. To be more specific, scenarios that deal a reaction or solution to deal with negative aspects of life. Sugars, fast foods, alcohol, having no time for fitness, stress, etc. those things that destroy or hinder the good health of the body aren't simply the first option of an individual, but a compensation to a lifestyle that most people don't realize they have buried themselves in. Hence, why it gets the response from those individuals of complications to do so. It IS just that simple to swap all those things for the right things, but the process to do so in a way that is going to intertwine with an individuals norm will be a bit more challenging. The world already pushes us forward to making everything as convenient as possible. We arent encouraged to endure, resist, to be disciplined, or even refined. Yet, our bodies try to tell us this every day.
Man I’m literally tired of being tired. I take about 7 vitamins but so far nothing is helping. I do have a thyroid nodule that’s under investigation. My extreme tiredness started during cancer treatment and has never gone away.
@frankc8547 3 minutes ago I had the same problem. wake up after a few hours and cant get back to sleep. This is how I fixed it Increased water drinking during the day to 6 or 7 glasses Put a grain or two of celtic sea salt under your tongue each time you start a glass Stop looking at phone at least an hour before bed...preferably longer Not having phone near the bed at night. Turn off TV at least 30 minutes before bed. Don't go to bed too early (or late) i set a bedtime of around 9.30 to 10 I now wake about 6 am fully rested. Plenty of energy for daily exercise Eat real food. Hope that helps.
Wow!! I have never known how deep and hard our bodies work for us. I’m so grateful for all the info u teach us, But I have to say THIS video opened my eyes to how important mitochondria health is!!! ❤ Love ya Dr. Berg and ur persistence to a healthier lifestyle ❤ Thank YOU! 😊
Thanks for sharing your experience with that. I feel more tired than I should be despite getting adequate sleep, working out, stretching and making sure I get enough rest. Just ordered some CoQ10 supplements, let's see how this goes. Have a good one!
For me it’s a bit strange, whenever I don’t get enough sleep I tend to be tired. But just as strange is when I do get enough sleep I tend to NOT be tired. I’m not sure why this is but it’s very similar to another phenomenon I’m experiencing with my peeing. - when I drink a lot I tend to pee a lot. But when I don’t drink a lot I actually DON’T pee a lot.
Methylene blue (MB) improves mitochondrial function by enhancing electron transport and reducing oxidative stress. It acts by rerouting electrons in the mitochondrial electron transport chain directly from NADH to cytochrome c, which increases the activity of complex IV. This process effectively promotes mitochondrial activity and mitigates oxidative stress. MB's antioxidative properties help break the cycle of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial damage, making it a promising candidate for neuroprotection and cognitive enhancement. Studies have shown that MB can improve mitochondrial respiration and energy metabolism, which is beneficial in conditions associated with mitochondrial dysfunction, such as neurodegenerative disorders and brain injuries. Furthermore, MB has demonstrated efficacy in both in vitro and in vivo settings, showing potential for therapeutic applications in addressing mitochondrial dysfunction-related conditions.
4:40 : You're right in recognizing that the energy from ATP is very efficiently used and recycled within the body. The statement that the body produces and recycles an amount of ATP equivalent to roughly its own body weight over the course of a day doesn't imply that there's an addition of new physical mass to the body; rather, it highlights the energetic turnover. For a 100kg person there is about 250g of ATP at any single time that is being used over and over. So please dont make it sound like human body can create a new copy of itself every single day.
when i started doing Keto for 3 months i had energy non stop and it was so hard to fall asleep, then i was able to adapt to my new energy. but quiting alcohol was the hardest one day i had to much to drink and it kicked me out of keto i was doing so good had lost almost 35 lbs in those 3 months. i havent been on keto since and i am always tired i want to go back on it but its just so hard to quit food with carbs :(

We are tired, because our jobs don't end. It isn't an 8-5, though it is supposed to be. Work occurs all the time with no real time for lunch or breaks. Horrible.
A great teacher is not one who is just knowledgeable of the topic, but one who embodies, really lives it, and therefore can explain it in a relatable way. I believe this is the key reason why he is such a great teacher.

A while back, I told someone that I didn't go to the gym just for LOSING WEIGHT... they laughed at me like I was insane for saying such a dumb thing. I live a busy life.. and exercise gives me such energy as nothing else. I feel great!
LOL what? I don't think ANY experienced Weightlifter, Gym-goer or Athlete goes to the Gym to lose weight. People are there to build muscle, and as you said to be healthy and feel good. It's only the inexperienced newbies who go there to "lose weight". You diet and fast to lose weight.
Exactly! I’ve done CrossFit for years and still do as much as o can during my pregnancies (the last one and my current one). Which is a whole other discussion. My dad doesn’t think I should be working out at all. Firstly, I’d go crazy after working out all those years- secondly have no energy and not be strong for labor. Labor is athletic! Take so much strength and energy. Most people are so uneducated on all this
It’s not true what you’re talking about. I am eating sugar all entire life and I’m strong like a bear. I don’t sleep more than six hours a day and still I feel strong. But every human body is different.
Yes sugar also cause body and joint pain. When I stopped my sugar intake I saw a huge difference in my body and joint pain and had more consistent energy
This to me, this is one of the most important videos that Dr Berg has shown. I'm a 59 year old from the UK, still learning, but all I can say is, God bless Dr Berg who freely gives via UA-cam, his knowledge. Once again, many thanks for keeping ordinary people like me informed 🙏🏻😊
I’m tired ALL the time but can’t sleep all through the night. 3 hours and I’m wide awake but still tired. This has been with me for 20 years and has gotten worse since I retired.
Me too, it was 4 -5 hours for many years, but much worse for the last three to four years..the fatigue is horrible. Finally got almost 4 hours sleep last night...up from the usual 2-3 hrs.
Look into iodine. I have been suffering from chronic fatigue, insomnia, brain fog, anxiety/depression for about 4 years. For the last 1.5 years I have been working on improving my health with regular exercise, healthy diet, brain retraining, and different supplements. Nothing seemed to work until I added Lugol iodine. Please look into it. Remember to take iodine with unrefined sea salt. I mix the unrefined sea salt with 2-3 iodine drops in a 40oz glass water bottle and drink it throughout the day. I drink about 120oz of iodine/salt water (8-9 drops of iodine total per day). I kid you not, this has been the missing link to my health. These are the supplements I take daily. Zinc, natural Vit C, Unrefined raw cod liver oil for Vit A and D, B-complex, and Mg and iodine/unrefined sea salt. I wish you the best of luck in your health journey.😊

Wow! Best video! I started fasting and not even on a full KETO , with light exercising, and I feel and am healthier, lost 33 pounds in 4 months, got off metformin. Many thanks for the help Dr. Berg! From your videos I have more understanding and knowledge on how the body functions and what I can do to become healthier.
My fatigue disappeared when I tackled candida. I realised it was that the whole time. Do the spit test in the morning by spitting into a glass of water before eating or drinking and see if some sinks to the bottom - if it does it means candida is in your throat/tongue which shows its been in the body for a long time. I started taking Candidase and my sugar cravings went away, then I noticed I didn't need my infrared light box and was waking up feeling clear and alert, all by day 2 of the treatment.
I can't say it enough: YOU'RE THE BEST DR. BERG! The simplicity in which you explain complex science amazes me every time. Thank you so much for sharing such interesting info about how our bodies work. ❤
This was the very video I needed! I'm 23 years old, and currently struggling with fatigue. All that is expected of now is to organize myself and take action in each aspect.
Start Fasting it will heal you I had same issue, Its your microbiome issue, Start Grounding walk barefoot on earth daily , Stop eating Garbage food like fast food , dont eat out , dont drink coffee thanks me later
@philippeb4126 Me too. I was wondering if working kind of forced me into intermittent fasting. When not working, I seemed to eat a little bit throughout the day. Being at work, I was more thoughtful about what foods I ate so my energy stayed up.
My problem was too much caffeine... I would wake up tired, and therefore drink a lot of caffeine to get through the day. By bed time, I'm too wired and don't get a good night sleep, thus I wake up tired again... and the cycle continues.
I fixed my insomnia by getting up early and taking the morning sun. It does a few things for you. The early morning sun is of a different quality and has lots of red light which is good for your eyes, and reverses macular degeneration. It also stimulates your cells to produce melatonin -- which is a bit odd because at night your pineal gland needs Darkness to produce it the early morning sun resets your circadian rhythm so by 9 you'll start feeling sleepy again
GAME CHANGERS FOR ME..I've been eating all whole foods, high protein for years...but what REALLY helped, cold showers (which aren't fun in winter for me) and intermittent fasting of 14 or more hours. Thank you Dr. Berg.
Yep, all about the fod. Look how strong silverbacks and grizzlies are eating their perfect, natural foods. Humans eat the worst diets in the animal world. We are so far removed and so weak compared with our humble beginnings.

2. Things that support healthy mitochondria include: the ketogenic diet, nutrient-dense foods like red meat, exercise, cold therapy, some phytonutrients, avoiding refined carbs and sugar, managing stress, and avoiding toxins.

Sun bathing
Eat super foods

The bible and super foods are both fantasies so they won't help you. If you're eating right you won't need supplements unless instructed by your doctor. Sun bathing though great for vitamin D can quickly be a negative if you do it to much. Nothing wrong with tea unless you put a sweetener in it, but I don't think it does a ton to get your daily nutrients. Maybe swap out some tea for a fruit and vegetable smoothie.

I’m surprised Dopamine wasn’t mentioned here. The No.01 thing that makes me or anyone else tired is the use of modern technology and screen time. Because it hard wires your brain and depletes your dopamine level. And dopamine is your energy driving force. It’s like the steering wheel form to rest of your engine
Vaccines have made loads in work exhausted but hey, can't be the experimental drug everyone took!
i can easily play 24 hours if i can sleep 8 hours afterwards (inbetween) for multiple days. in fact gaming keeps me awake. listening to stuff without acting myself, e.g. my prof at university though....:D makes me feel like i need to bite my tongue to stay awake.
though i use darkmode in about anything, maybe that helps.
In my case, it was carbs, high carbs. Including sweet fruits, potatoes 🥔 low stomach acid, false data on saturated fats, ect. Didn’t have much contact with modern tech, beside the very basic.
You nail it
Well, I think energy and motivation are slightly different. 😊
Sunlight is a big part of it
What is the link between Light and ATP ?
I think melatonin release is responsible for that
So saith Dr. Kruse
🙏🙏🙏
Try JESUS ....that worked for me .
There can be a huge hormonal component. Look into adrenal fatigue and other hormonal imbalances - especially if you’re a post-menopausal woman.
Don't be angry just consider it a reminder.
Not easy to be surrounded by “friends” lol. You may want to bring some Dr Berg’s recipes next time, so much so that their tables won’t have space for their own foods…😊😊

I have to agree with you on this…… toxic people will definitely affect us in many ways….

That's a big factor for sure. Mainstream and Social media are a big cause of mental fatigue as well.

😅
I bet! Some of the other Dr Berg’s videos /articles on tiredness may help with more data.
Alot of this is mental. Being tired can be mental dilemma. Alot of life takes mental initiative.
Could be anxiety too, honestly almost any other condition too.

A blood test is needed to know if your fatigue comes from mitochondria defficiency. Fatigue can be also potassium, magnesium, B1, B2, B5, B12 craving.
This used to be me. I'm most of the time fat adapted but sometimes overdo with the workout and hiking in same day. And am always looking for ways to improve my sleep. TY Dr Berg.
Thank you so much for this important information.
Dr Berg. your description of what to avoid confuses me ,,that you’re saying the keto is good or avoid the keto diet? Thank you for your helpfulness and sharing!

Can you please make a detailed video on myasthenia gravis please ? I am sure so many of the people watching your videos will be in need to it .
Man I’m literally tired of being tired. I take about 7 vitamins but so far nothing is helping. I do have a thyroid nodule that’s under investigation. My extreme tiredness started during cancer treatment and has never gone away.

I had the same problem. wake up after a few hours and cant get back to sleep. This is how I fixed it
Increased water drinking during the day to 6 or 7 glasses
Put a grain or two of celtic sea salt under your tongue each time you start a glass
Stop looking at phone at least an hour before bed...preferably longer
Not having phone near the bed at night.
Turn off TV at least 30 minutes before bed.
Don't go to bed too early (or late) i set a bedtime of around 9.30 to 10
I now wake about 6 am fully rested.
Plenty of energy for daily exercise
Eat real food.
Hope that helps.
It's about your liver health, COQ 10 and whole lemon I think!
Wow!! I have never known how deep and hard our bodies work for us.
I’m so grateful for all the info u teach us, But I have to say THIS video opened my eyes to how important mitochondria health is!!!
❤ Love ya Dr. Berg and ur persistence to a healthier lifestyle ❤
Thank YOU! 😊

Thanks for sharing your experience with that. I feel more tired than I should be despite getting adequate sleep, working out, stretching and making sure I get enough rest. Just ordered some CoQ10 supplements, let's see how this goes. Have a good one!
Cold therapy should be done while swimming (moving that is), like in rivers or in the sea. Standing still in cold water damages the heart.
I switched to the carnivore diet and that solved my problem
He's doing it with passion and compassion
God saves Dr Berg
Thank you for your kind message. Appreciate it!

I'm thinking, waking up for no dang reason at all, at 2am-4am, is probably the root of my fatigue. Lol
Yes me too, but my sleep problems improve when I eat more fat and protein and less suger as well as try intermittent fasting.
Liver problems (according to the Chinese organ clock).
They say liver is the time on the clock. .but I do question these organs relative as pancreas in particular etc are most sensitive to emf type radiation ...not to forget electrical field activity and the heart !

Great, kind, Doctor.

You are totally correct, exercises helps with energy, better mood, ect. It’s a known fact.

It also stimulates your cells to produce melatonin -- which is a bit odd because at night your pineal gland needs Darkness to produce it the early morning sun resets your circadian rhythm so by 9 you'll start feeling sleepy again
Cut back to one cup of joe in morning, work out all day, with breaks till supper, you be out by 9-10:30 sleep 8 hrs
GAME CHANGERS FOR ME..I've been eating all whole foods, high protein for years...but what REALLY helped, cold showers (which aren't fun in winter for me) and intermittent fasting of 14 or more hours. Thank you Dr. Berg.
❤❤❤True, especially after cancer and arthrosis, personal experience
Intermittent fasting is a game changer
@@crypticwintermoon6284fasting is known for.........mileniums
it's now been "invented" by the scientists :))
Yep, all about the fod. Look how strong silverbacks and grizzlies are eating their perfect, natural foods. Humans eat the worst diets in the animal world. We are so far removed and so weak compared with our humble beginnings.
Thanks Dr Berg .I love your explanation of the Krebs cycle. ❤
I'm so glad it helped!
