- Photos & Videos of buses taken during recent visits to Hamills Scrap Yard.
Seen are various B10BLEs , ALX 400s , Scania Solars , Intercenturies , Leyland Tiger N Type Tow Buses , Optare Solos , A damaged Wright Schoolrun and A 1994 Volvo B10M.
3 Former preserved buses are among the vehicles seen in the yard.
Leyland Tiger N Type 1250 , Ex Goldline Plaxton Premier 1604 & A Ex Belfast Corporation Transport Trollybus.
Brilliant video. There's a whole certain era of Translink in that yard, my personal favorite era too. I'll miss those ALX400's, I remember seeing 2956 sitting in GVS for absolutely ages and it's hard to believe I only travelled on 825 last year and now it's awaiting the crusher!
Thanks. These vehicles certainly do mark one of the best eras of Northern Ireland's bus & coach fleet. It really was a shame seeing 825 get scrapped she was a very good runner the day we had her on the tour.

You’re welcome! I have a friend from high school who owns a Metro model of a B10BLE and various other bus models. I heard he now actually bought an old bus. It was an Ulsterbus Leyland Tiger N-Type.
Granda is taking me up there soo will hopefully buy some number plates.
8:30 was a Leyland Tiger. Probably a later early 1990s build with a Volvo our Cummins engine. The TL11 Leyland was dropped in the late 80s.
These buses look too modern to scrap.
The Tiger was 1250, which had a TL11 engine in. I had a lovely trip on that
A shame they're known for having issues. They go beautifully. My local bus operator growing up had about 20 of them in Sydney.

No they weren't there they had already been cut up.

Hydra cyclic Automatic Gearbox Gardner 6LX and Gardner 6LXC Diesel Engine Olympian ECW Buses but Modernise the insides of these Buses.
Also, make it low floor up and down and also extend the middle body part of these vehicles a little bit more so there will be more space for the wheelchair users. By the way, if you could remake and Modernise these
vehicles could they also make them into a Loud 4-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Automatic Gearbox Gardner 6LX and Gardner 6LXC Diesel Engine

Sadly cause it's owner couldn't look after it properly.

@@johnUB4478 the owner was running a tour company illegally with the buses he wasn’t supposed to use and made a lie saying apparently it was damaged beyond economical repair he had a big battle with translink for using their corporation livery
