Also in the yard was a Ex Doyle Travel Plaxton Premier , Belfast Bus Company Van Hool B10M , A Ex Swilly / Ulsterbus Dennis Dart & A Ex Mcgonagle Bus & Coach Hire / Ulsterbus Leyland Tiger Q Type.
Great video and a great day out none the less.
A great day out to keep a good old BLE running.
A very documentary of how buses and transport has changed over the last 20 years. I hope to see one of the 2001 B7TL/ALX400's preserved one day.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it. All I will say is watch this space in regards the preservation of a ALX.
such a sad sight seeing all buses in this being scrapped
Great video what a day
Thanks. Was one busy day
A very sad sight to see all of Ulsterbuses classic fleet stacked and scrapped up but nothing good lasts forever sadly. 2923 for example is in near enough is good nick and could easily be sold on
It sure is sad. From what I've heard 2923 wasn't the best ALX in the fleet and apparently she wasn't the best mechanically either.
@@BusVideosNI Aw that’s unfortunate :(
Some of the best lying there.
Kind of sad, Imagine the amount of people that went to school on these.
Goes on Coaches at 9:18 then 10:50 behind
Any idea why on some buses the translink logos have been painted over?
Was just wondering last week we're all the old ulster buses went too plenty of camer conversations there
At 10:50 All the Intercenturies
Is 20years the average life of a bus today, before its sent for scrap or sold on?
For older buses they normally last up to roughly 20 years however with newer buses that are coming into use they will more than likely not last as long.
What are those bars on front of the double decker is it just for show
They are tree deflectors it's to avoid a window being smashed if the bus clips a tree when going along the road.
Protect from tree branches
Do they sell any parts of them.
When it says private hire, does that mean it's not city owned?
Yeah someone has bought it for their own use. So not e.g First or Stagecoach
It means the bus has been privately hired by someone, like a school or a football team. The bus still belongs to the company like stagecoach,Translink or first.
Arriva?
Do you need permission from someone to go there?
Where's Hamils Scrap Yard
