- SeniorShape Senior & Beginner Workout - Full Body Weight Training w/ Dumbbells
Resist bone loss with this full body strength training workout. Start with light dumbbells, around two to five pound weights, and work your way up to heavier ten pound dumbbells. I am using a set of 4lbs in this video.
In this 30 minute workout we will train all areas of the body to stay balanced and feel strong!

I’m 24 and I knew I needed an easy workout but I laughed at the thought of doing a workout for older people but lemme just tell you, this workout kicked my butt. I loved it! It was calm, easy paced and just all around a perfect workout for anyone just trying to find somewhere to start. 🙏🏽

Same here! Not a senior, overweight, with autoimmune disease, was advised to not freak out my adrenal hormones and do slow, low weighted strength exercises that don't raise my pulse too much. Your channel is such an inspiration, I'm doing your beginner dumbbell videos on rotation on a daily basis and feel so good, such a game changer, thank you! 🙏

I forgot to add something for all those people who are making comments. Remember that you are not supposed to lift weights 2 days in a row. You are supposed to do it every OTHER day. You can do some other form of exercise in between. This is because you must give the muscles that have lifted weights a break of 48 hours before you do it again. I have heard this rule repeated many times by experienced people who do weight lifting of every kind. Thanks.
Thank you for this. I'm 76 and my wife is 79 and I came across your vid by just surfing. On a whim I thought I'd see how far I could go with it and lo and behold I was able to stay with you the whole session. We are now into the 3rd time and have already seen some positive changes, especially getting out of bed or up from the floor. My wife is using 2 lbs and I'm using 3 lbs and hope to increase as we go along. I'm looking forward to following some of your other sessions as we gain some strength and mobility back.

@@Sohappeee1 if you are strength training it’s good to give the muscles a day of rest especially if you are sore. It would be good to do some walking, cardio or yoga on your days “off”
I alternated between 4 and 10 lb dumbbells. Burned 355 calories ❤

This is an awesome full body workout with weights. It's challenging but achievable and I will increase the weights (from 5lb. now) as I get stronger. Thank you for another great video Lauren!!

I completed this workout again as it is one of my favorites because it involves weights and I am able to focus on the full body. It was just as challenging as in the past and I was able to concentrate more on the form. Thanks again, Lauren!

JUST turned 60yo and after 50+ years of accident/injury, hard work, breaks/tweaks, operations...OMG. THIS workout is JUST right. SO thankful to find someone who "gets" 'Senior' workouts! Just the right amount of encouragement with challenge and more encouragement and no pressure to MAAAAX or whatever. I've been here daily x 2 weeks now and just increased to 5# weights. This is after years of not working these muscles/groups. Wonderful full body weight training with Dumbbells. Bouncing back and forth with a similar one of your's since previous injuries prohibit "barre" work. I am 67 and have done your other 33 min workout with weight 4 or 5 times. You are a godsend. I was looking for something just like your workouts. I have been using 3 lb. weights and will eventually move up to 5 lb. ones. I have been walking and doing yoga for most of my life, but never used weights. I was a little sore at first, but not anymore. Tonight I hope to try THIS workout. Thank you so much, and keep up the good work!

Love this workout (I'm 76 and just starting after lying around for months) it's a challenge with 5 lb weights but I'll either get 3 lb or develop the strength to keep on with 5 lb. I'm so glad that I found these exercises! I'm doing them every day

I enjoy doing your workouts. I am 72 but could do this one quite well. I always lookout for all standing workouts since i am not supposed to do anything on the ground after my knee replacement surgery. Thanks for this and also for the ones with cardio & strength that were introduced recently.

This is a great full body workout! I used different levels of weights, according to what felt good for my body. Very easy to adapt. Really like this one!

I love your clear explanations for each workout. I'm at the age where joint pain is creeping in, and realized that many of the high impact workouts that i used to do are not suitable for me anymore. But that's not to say your workouts are easy... I always find myself glad when it's done and I can go flop down on my sofa 😄. Thanks for all your wonderful videos and please keep up the good work!

Was a little scared by the 36 minutes, but nice warm up, wonderful pace as always and easy cool down. Made it to the end with my trusty 3lb weights, feeling worked but not exhausted. Love the quieter background music. Many thanks.

After doing this workout several times with lighter weights, I advanced to 8 lbs and got through the entire workout. TY for making me stronger and givng me the confidence to advance weights.

I just finished this exercise with 3&5 dumbbells and I was dripping sweats!! And I loved it!! I did standing and sitting stretches after this exercise and I feel great and hungry!! 😊
Looking forward to doing this exercise 3 times a week for a few weeks then try another one with a kettlebell.

I just found your channel. This is the first video I have done. I love it, my body loves it! No gimmicks, no superfluous chattiness, just a straight-forward full-body strength workout. I especially like the reminders on maintaining form throughout the movement. I also like your remarks on which specific muscles one should be engaging. The only thing I did not like was that the video sometimes lagged and stopped, which I imagine is not within your control. I look forward to exploring more of your videos.

Thanks Lauren. Another wonderful workout. I worked with 3# and 5# weights. A torn rotator cuff taught (!) me to work shoulders with light weights. The gym I use is once again closed, but this workout was perfect. Your cues and reminders to check our form are much appreciated. I’ll be feeling this workout later!

Hi Lauren. You are the only one that I will do a weighted workout with. This was hard, but I was able to complete the entire workout with 2 5lb dumbbells. Can you incorporate more on the floor tummy workouts with weights? I'd so appreciate it.

I did this session this morning, and really enjoyed it, I really like how you let us know what the exercise targets and also your cueing is spot on, a great reminder for my posture, as I sit at a desk for work, my posture is not good, any chance you could do a workout to focus on looking after your posture xx
