Glaswgians in the sun!
Woohoo!! The SOUND quality is far better than the Astoria87 gig which was on YT before. Great job, Steevie!! Saw the Fall one year later in Bremen during their tour. To be honest, I literally thought over months that the band was called "The Mighty Fall" because John Peel often introduced a new song by the band with this annoncement. And when I got my first Fall LP into my hands I saw that he has "fooled" me all the time. It's a shame that we have not such Radio DJs anymore. I can't count the countless bands which Peelie introduced me to. Crazy!!
I love this so much! This is my favorite Fall era.
Mine too. I saw them a fair bit in London around this time and jt was always well worth it.
Yep. I agree as well. Mid 80’s to mid 90’s. Saw them a lot over those 10 years 👍
I was in the front row of the balcony for this gig
“Live at the Witch Trials” was an epic album!
It certainly was / is
"Always different yet always the same".
Another belter from Scottishteevee. Thank you 😊.
Braw. Thanks for posting. Growing up in Edinburgh The Fall seemed to play every weekend. When it all came together then they couldn't be touched. The atmosphere was Electric and a powerful nervous excitement as in any available second Mark could lose it.
I lived in Edinburgh 89 to 98 and saw them a few times. Were you at the ill fated Calton Hill gig where euphoria at the unexpected return of Brix was slightly dampened by MES vaulting the soundesk and trying to brain the sound guy!
Great Fall era! 💪
Dammit! I had plans this morning. Thanks STV.
Wonderful and frightening.

Great gig, very good sound quality and one of the best Guest Infomants versions ever!
I was at this gig and Guest Informant definitely was good that night. I thought Lucifer Over Lancashire and Fiery Jack were pretty memorable too.
Thank you so much for this!!!! This is just amazing to watch. The Fall are just indescribably brilliant and one of the most original, influential (hello Pavement!)and greatest bands ever. Mark E. Smith was a true genius and is missed.
"It's M.E.S in shoulder pads"
"My powers are spent, half-useless, my senses alive have party."
Who was more influential, Pavement or Spoon? Discuss.
doesn't get much better than this
Have already listened to a bit! This is great! Always thought The Fall were the most alternative band back then, what a band!!! Definitely going to listen to the rest of them the rest of the weekend! Thanks Scottish Teevee 👍♥️!
I always thought The Fall were the most brain damaged band back then and have seen nothing since to change my opinion.
Both. Not that I'm insulting them, I just think Mark E. Smith is obviously mentally ill.
Legend ❤ some bend sinister and this nations saving grace material in there. My favourite Fall eras 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for the upload. I'll keep this saved for later 🍻🤟🥃
Wow! What an upload, thanks 💎
My goodness, this is the definition of a live show
Killer set!!
Digging this one
Howdy from south central Texas!
Brill. Brix brought out the best in Mark and they sound fantastic here. ✊🏼
Thank you! The sound is so good on this!
Excellent, thank you!!
Great upload - Lucifer Over Lancashire is brilliant on this. Wow.
It was brilliant that night. I saw it and thought so at the time.
Love this. Thank you.
Brilliant! Wonderful to see a full show, and with Brix, too. Thank you for posting this! 👏👏🙂
Glad you enjoyed this Louis, I'll dig out more Fall gems in the future
Scottish Tee Vee, thank you for another amazing video. Your channel is superb. Everything you post is so good. But, this is for me the best yet. Absolute music mastery from The Fall. Thank you for all the work you do to post these videos.
A+
Love this!
Had this on cassette, now annoyingly lost so many thanks for this! A belter of a gig.
Well I am glad the you have it once more. If you know how to, then I suggest you download and keep it safe. 🙂
Great video & excellent sound quality. First video on UA-cam with live 'Australians in Europe'. Cheers. Thanks
Brix @1:01:30 ❤❤❤
F£cking fantastic! U.S. 80s-90s is fierce! i usually prefer it slower but this is superb; taught, funky and manic.
Thanks for posting! Miss the Karl Burns/Paul Hanley drum combo but this is a terrific lineup.
Kewl!
Godamn this is smashing. At their best always.
No wonder Brix suffered from RSI for a time after leaving the Fall
Hey STV, how about doing a video about you whole collection. How you collect, maintain, digitize?, catalogue, plan releases to YT. You have collected a remarkable amount of historical stuff and it would be a shame if YT suddenly decided it wasn't profitable for them to keep alive. What happens if you have a fire, do you back this stuff up? It doesn't have to be a video about you, but your collection. Just a thought.
I second this!!!
amazing! many thanks for this!
No fillers here NOBTV
me and a friend had tickets for this but it was a pretty hedonistic time and we turned up at The Astoria the next night unfortunately! And I would have seen them do Fiery Jack for the first only time too, argh. Great to finally get to see the gig all these years later!
The world feels a bit diminished these days, knowing that there isn't some new Fall material on the way. Just another way in which I feel alienated by, and disconnected from, the world in which I live. I belong on the other side now.
If you are into The Fall I think you were always there.
Great upload. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
I got into The Fall in 1985 but, for some reason, didn't see them play live until around 1989 and so missed the Brix period. One of my few gig going regrets. Didn't know that they played Mark'll Sink Us and Haf Found Bormann live
Not knocking what a great legacy of songs by Mark and The Fall... Some ones of their sound people around this time were irresponsible in how painfully loud the club PA would be. My ONLY chance to see them, First Ave Mpls. No choice but to be driven out of the club, believe me. With others. Ear plug items were not that common.
😊💙
Good morning Rachel, first once more. 🙂
@@ScottishTeeVee 😊
That particular Fall logo , I had a T shirt with the same logo which I was wearing when I had my car driving test !
I failed the test , the shirt wasn't to blame , at least I hope not !
Mark E. Smith is an underrated front man. His stage charisma is powerful.
I disagree, Mark E. Smith is deservedly a highly rated front-man. 😁
@@evilcraftknife5705 Yes, I agree with you, evil*. MES is the synonym / definition of a "front-man". Like Jagger or Marks Salford "buddy" Morrissey 😉(no, not really, they weren't buddies. They only came from the same neighboorhood. As far as I know they hated each other)
@@andreeopthof376 I live in Salford
Mark said he liked the early Smiths records...I was told once.
@@evilcraftknife5705 I went to Salford Tech, then the Uni next door :) Sandwich course they called it LOL
What song is this at 12:30 ? Do you think Jack White listened to the Fall? The Union Forever by the White Stripes sounds like a ripoff :)
They were mighty. Total disconnect with modern music. They kicked ass against a mainstream which I now miss too. Music shaped pap now. We not music heads anymore??
Saw them live in Zagreb/Croatia, can't remember exact year, but i know they played KINKS cover VICTORIA,that was their recent single. MARK E. seemed to be in bad mood, something like "what am i doing in this communist shithole..."
I thought that Wikipedia's opening sentence on The Fall, "The Fall released many recordings following their inception in 1976", was just lazy writing, but they have 31 studio albums and 59 live albums (and another 6 that are both).
