This is the lineup I saw in Sept. 1982. Still one of Greatest shows I've ever seen. The show I saw Mark E. had his Microphone plugged Into a Guitar Amp and then the Amp was Mic'd through the P.A. A Basement club, all ages afternoon show of about 300 kids. I was 16.
0:30 - Backdrop (first released live on In A Hole) 2:47 - Prole Art Threat (Slates) 6:45 - Hip Priest (Hex Enduction Hour) 15:18 - I'm Into C.B. (B-side of the Look, Know single) 21:08 - Mere Pseud Mag. Ed. (Hex Enduction Hour) 24:39 - Solicitor in Studio (Room To Live) 30:50 - Hexen Definitive (Perverted By Language) 33:54 - Flat of Angles (Dragnet) 40:40 - Just Step S'ways (Hex Enduction Hour) 44:42 - Deer Park (Hex Enduction Hour) 53:09 - Tempo House (Perverted By Language) 1:00:45 - Lie Dream of a Casino Soul (1981 single) 1:04:27 - Look, Know (1982 single) 1:10:10 - The Classical (Hex Enduction Hour) Band (left to right): Marc Riley (Guitar) Mark E Smith (Poet) Paul Hanley (Drums) Steve Hanley (Bass) Karl Burns (Drums) Craig Scanlon (Guitar)
OMG!! THANK YOU 🙏I'd only ever seen a couple of clips from this. Double drummer classic line up, amazing set list and almost professional quality filming. Peerless 👍✌️💖
The mighty Fall at one of their peaks. Nice to hear Riley playing on Hexen Definitive......although Smithy much better at other gigs...Great set list though. What a group.
a wonderful recording! He was all of that. Hip Priest, the Petty Thief Lout, the Squid Lord and the Slang King all in one. Shuffled off in those Czech shoes....slip down easy MES
I listen to 6 music and it's astonishing how many fall influenced bands there are of late....1 of if not the most influential post punk bands of all time?quite possibly
This is an absolute classic fall gig.. 2 drum lineup..zero distortion or talking. I recon it's straight from the desk brilliant upload. Thank you very much indeed
What a band and what a performance - so tight and focussed. Saw them many times during this period - amongst the most wonderful and frightening nights of my life. Special mention to Blue Note gig in Derby - terrifyingly intense, if you were there you'd not forget it. Manic throng at the front (pre 'mosh pit'; an amorphous amphetamine blob - no aggressive elbow stuff in those heady days) but stand back and see the somewhat amused onlookers. Memories.
This is the all male heavy occult meaning hidden version of the Fall. Incredible the female influence on the fall has always been a positive thing but you know when you're a false song and there's no female influence it's an entirely different animal and it's fantastic. New band has been or will be like this again this is a one-off and we are lucky to live and it's time. Especially we that lived along the same timeline.

Flat of Angles!! what a treat and to my mind THE greatest Fall line-up of all
"Flat of Angles" is a huge fave of mine too, cheers!

Almost professional?

Christ, to have seen this line-up live...the only reason to invent time-travel technology
Great set! Wow. Thanks.
Astonishingly good, unbeatable setlist
The incredible version with Paul and Karl drumming. Unfucking real.

Gotta be my personal all time fav gig ever!!!!
Good memories of the group from the long long days. Thanks for the uploads.
Filmed by Do Baks & Marco Van Der Houven, unearthed and shared by moi.
Dear god that version of Prole art threat was astonishing.
Pure gold!!!!!!!
Galloping
Great early version of tempo house very different
Nothing like it then, nothing like it now. A genre to themselves. RIP. KUDOS.
I listen to 6 music and it's astonishing how many fall influenced bands there are of late....1 of if not the most influential post punk bands of all time?quite possibly
What a gig, probably one of the best I've ever seen or watched.
WTF! Has the holy grail of unearthed Fall been uploaded to YT?! Awesome.

Thanks you dirtypearl for this upload. All the best to you
Holy hell. Thank you.
Thank you so much for uploading this, I've always wished I could have seen them live in 82 and this is the next best thing.
"Heard Kraftwerk in 82" lol
Shit AND Karl Burns picks up a bass on Solicitor in Studio! I had no idea he was doing that line, man he is the fucking best.
This is an absolute classic fall gig.. 2 drum lineup..zero distortion or talking. I recon it's straight from the desk brilliant upload. Thank you very much indeed
@@christopherogley1714 Real treat to see Marc Riley playing on a song from Perverted by Language
What a tucking show!
Sound quality surprisingly good for '82... wonder if it's been cleaned up in the meantime?
Did somebody turn Steve down during "The Classical"?
cool early version of Backdrop, which is imo the best Fall song

The same can be said about SWANS.
Sounds like a sound desk recording
Why is Martin McGuinness on bass ? Anyway , great show.
Why are all fall gigs in youtube such bad quality?
The non-lighting, drummer plays guitar shock. ' Deer Park ' No one in the band looks at each other.
TWICE EACH, AT LEAST!
I'm having trouble with the terminology
But I'm into CB
Grip Feast
Last cigarette is indoors because of Hip Priest. Know why the flat smells tomorrow. Last clean dirty shirt in the whordrobe
So intense
ian curtis on harmonica
!
Derivative
Without Jonny Peel's evergreen airplay support thry'd have Fall'en by the wayside b4 they reached the 80s.
