I think he is suggesting the armor because you're not using the heals in combat, so you don't need to worry about that restriction. he even suggested multi-classing into a fighter with it. So I guess before resting you take your armor off for healing and put it back on to go wreck face after or something.
Hear me out on Crusaders. Yes, Paladins get full BAB, Smite Evil, and 6HP base per level instead of 5, and get their second swing 2 levels later, however Crusaders can hang beside them in the tank role (one less HP per level can be compensated for with feat selection or self buffs), are a bit worse in DPS when they're swinging (can self buff to be as good on attack chance, but yes, second swing comes at level 8 instead of 6). Crusaders are full casters with access to level 9 spells. They have a lot more utility. Divine Favor always gives +1 more than it will on a Paladin which bridges the gap for BAB in the early game when you need it, and is less "expensive" for them since they have more casts, and they make good use of things like Effortless Armor, Archon's Aura, and other self only buffs. and the Animal Domain gets a pet at level 4. The pet is a HUGE deal, for obvious reasons. I've been people claim that base Cleric with a single level of fighter outperforms the Crusader, but this just isn't the case. Such a build will always have the pet one level behind, will get access to spells one level later, and will have fewer combat feats. Crusader is vastly underrated in both games, and they're mechanically very fun to play, complicated enough to be interesting and it's fun to see the build "come online". They're a very good pick as a mercenary in Kingmaker, using the "stay at level 1" exploit (not so good as the main character since MC in the front lines is asking for single crit game overs) and also very good on the rogue like modes in both games on Challenging/core difficulties.
Nice job. I'm really starting to get into clerics. The main ability of the Ecclesitheurge was kinda glossed over. Normally choosing a domain like Air or Fire only gives you the ability to cast a domain specific spell like Fireball once per spell level only if it is prepared in a special domain spell slot. An Ecclesitheurge with primary domain Fire can cast Fireball from ANY 3rd level spell slot he wants to prepare it in. The ability to cast multiple wizard/sorcerer spells is why an Ecclesitheurge isn't allowed to wear armor, even when multiclassed.
@ 9:16 NOT actually true, not even close. i only wanted to wear LIGHT armor as an Eclisitheurge. No matter what your Proficiencies are, you can NOT cast Healing spells. :3 This cost me two hours of progress to go back and respec to a normal Priest. NOT helpful! >.
I’ve found Cleric to be a competent tank if built correctly. Would love to see a domain that gave mirror image though; without it I wouldn’t attempt on unfair.
Ive also used ecclesiasthierge so i could get death and magic domains and i gatta say with a bow this combo can be a nasty build being able to do neceotic damage while ahooting magic and skeletons.
The ecclesitheurge cannot cast spells if they're wearing armor, so the advice to just "pickup heavy armor with 1 skill point" (I think you mean feat) is just terrible. You'd plan your character around the whole idea that you can just take heavy armor prof, waste a feat on it, and then find out that if you wear heavy armor you can't use 99% of your abilities any more. Not to be harsh, but if you're going to make a video where you give people advice on the classes you might want to make sure you understand how the function first.
crusader 1 animal domain, sacred huntmaster 11 and your pet maxed out at level 16 which leaves you 8 levels to spec in non pet class :) or you can go sacred huntsmaster 9 and pick animal boon at level 17 to have 10 levels in other class
Im runing a necro sumoner build stacked a bunch of scrolls for summon beast and a wand with a summon beast enchant im literally always spamming monsters and using spells to annoy the enemy
How are you going to survive the first 4 or 5 levels with these stats? You have a longbow with 7 str & dex, no point blank or precise shot, how are you going to handle melee attacks? You don't have enough spells to cover all the attacks, I just can't see this working early game.
I always take Harem and Tristan with me I build harem with spell focus in The Necromancer class and I set him up like a necromancer and summons with some heels and good spells thrown in
can't wear armor with the ec....ge whatever its called. even if you take proficiency it blocks out your spells as soon as you equip anything. so ya you can wear armor I guess you just can't cast cleric spells while do it

Cleric is most wasted class in game. :) From 15 (or how many) deitys are playable 2. Erastil animal/comunity and gozeth animal/anythink. Maybe some necromancer but i can be build from gozeth too.

One small correction, there really is a downside - ecclesitheurge absolutely cannot wear any armor while casting divine spells.
Yeah he keeps making that suggestion and it's 100% faulty advice.

Easily addressed by dipping into Monk to bumb your high Wisdom modifier to AC though.

in PnP the crusader also gets BaB equal to fighter, but it doesn't in this?
It would be a good way to put you in front of tons of arena players. They are hungry for entertaining content

Mine is a evil cleric wizard with a specialty in illusions and necromancey.
