"At 1st level, an ecclesitheurge makes a vow to his deity to be protected solely by his faith, not by armor or shields. An ecclesitheurge who wears armor or uses a shield is unable to use his blessing of the faithful ability, use cleric domain powers, or cast cleric spells."
Community Domain has AMAZING domain spells: Bless and Protection from Alignment are solid at lower levels. Prayer (+ luck bonus) is awesome, Protection from Energy (Communal) is always great, Burst of Glory (temp HP and +1 Sacred Bonus) is amazing, Stoneskin Communal (yes, please!), Greater Restoration, L. Porportions, Mass Heal?! It's one of the few cleric domains where nearly every spell is viable throughout the game. Also, with the Animal Domain, summons are always great distractions during combat. Those are two exceptional domains!
On other threads people have said the Ecclesitheurge can't use their abilities if they were ANY armor. Is that just not true with a one level dip into paladin?
As others have said, your whole plan on going Ecclesitheurge Paladin for armor simply doesn't work. Moreover I don't think a buff cleric is an ideal usage of a cleric. Don't get me wrong, you certainly want all those cleric buffs but just focusing on buffing means your character has 0 combat prowess. All you do is prebuff before combat than stand there and do nothing. Instead with just a slightly lower wisdom score(which does hurt your hearth) you can pump up your strength for example and go for a reach cleric build, with the same buffs and offensive spells the cleric gets but now you can also actually hit things in combat rather than just sit around, and you have plenty of free feats to use on whatever you want so might as well use them as combat feats for another melee character. Alternatively you can go Herald Caller and be the main summoner of your party, flooding the battlefield with summons after the usual buffs on your party. Basically you have room both in terms of attributes and feats to actually do something in combat rather than relegate yourself to strictly being a precombat buff bot.
I am trying to build a sacred fist by combining Ecclesitheurge with a Sensei, It seems to me that the two would mix very well but I can find no builds. :/
Yes, Cleric spells are pretty amazing, especially when it comes to further buffing your party but also some very nice offensive spells. While this guide focuses mostly on the guarded hearth ability the Cleric is still a spell caster and you're going full wisdom, so might as well take advantage of the Cleric as a spell caster.
That's the only problem I have with Mono's "build guides" ... he gives great info but this is more of teaching you what's important in builds, not necessarily showing you what he takes.
9:38 “What you do with your abilities [feats] is kinda up to you. The only thing you need to pick up at some point is boon companion.” I think he’s assuming, and rightly so, that if you’re watching his guides for unfair difficulty (which is what he made them for, not easier difficulties), you’ve got a decent grasp of general feats to take for what classes. Most cleric builds are gonna take almost all the same feats, the exceptions will be your preferences vs someone else’s (example, Mono said he never takes Selective Channeling and I take it every time).

Yeah this build seems like it wasn't thought out too well, if you can even call it a build.

That is true, I was referring to lvl 1-3 for unfair :)
@@MONOBLACKGAMING Ah, gotcha. I play on Hard Mode (never yet tried Unfair), and Community Domain is one of the more OP domains.

Thanks for making these videos!

I was just about to roll a paladin, and I can't find your video. Did you take it down? Would you repost it?
New updated version coming soon :)
Where's the 1st level Monk?
I always saw Ecc as an easy pairing for a wis-based Sorc to get a Mystic Theurge.
is there any reason to go all the way to cleric after that? or is it better to go to another line?

can someone give an exemple of the build he was talking about at 3:06 ? and thank you 💙@MONOBLACKGAMING
Guarded Hearth lasts ONE HOUR?!?!?
Also update your game Cognito flasks work perfectly fine
..per level
One hour per level. It's stupid OP on boss fights.
What the hell kind of "guide" is this? You only mention 1 buff....
Wait.... what feats should I be getting ?... wtf ? Do I just choose anything?
