One of the nicest guys and smart too.
You can tell Hillbilly had a lot of respect for Andre. He almost seems like he was choking up a bit. What a great era in wrestling back then. I grew up watching the greatest wrestlers of all time and didn't even realize it at the time.
That impression of Andre laughing 😂😂😂
I love Hillbilly Jim’s story telling. He’s a genuine article
He never held a championship anywhere. 😆
These guys are way more interesting than anyone on the current roster.
What a class gentlemen, I met him at a gym in San Diego sometime in the mid eighties, briefly talked got a photo of me and him. I just remember how down to earth and polite he was. Later had approached mr. wonderful, Paul orndorf. He was the total opposite.
Met Hillbilly Jim in the 80's at a small wrestling event at a small school in KY. His name then was The Super Dutchman. He put on a good show too. Within a few weeks he was on TV out of Memphis TN. It was great to see him advance that quick. Shortly he was in the WWF. Glad to see him still doing good to this day.
Remember watching all these dudes on that Rock N Wrestling cartoon to. Always liked Hillbilly Jim.
I always wear my Andre the giant t-shirt And I always get good compliments...
I love that guy
Andre - "I want to drink, Boss"
Server - " What would you like , sir? "
Andre - "All of it"
Lmfao!
Bring the whole kitchen out too boss.... all of it.
Really enjoyed this interview! Andre Hillbilly were two of my favorites! Thanks for this interview 👍
Thanks Jim and Hannibal. Great tribute !!
He looks like Diamond Dallas Page now.
LOL
Never seen him wrestle or cut a promo, but I can listen to this guy all day.
This is much more entertaining than anything he did in the ring
@@BeeBumper right. He never won a championship anywhere..
@@Gameboy-Unboxings back then wrestlers didn’t need to win championships to be over, it was about stories and characters, they even made hillbilly a manager at least 2 times that’s how over he was……..that’s what was so special about 80s wrestling that titles didn’t matter
These interviews are amazing, living history.
I love the stories about andre, they're my favorite.
I can believe that Hillbilly Jim was wise with his money during his career. How else is he able to sport all of that bling?
He worked for WWE right up to the early 00’s in various background jobs after in ring retirement in 1990ish. I think he also has a big interest in stamp and coin collecting and has invested wisely in that over the years
Could be all Flash, No Cash!
Oh yeah. Well, he bout had to be considering where he came from, but yeah he went to college and did very well in school from what I understand
he actually seems smarter then most.
Glad to see Hillbilly Jim looks great!😎👍🏼
Hillbilly Jim was one of my favorites love his Andre storys real gentleman in and out of the ring
Love ya Hilly Billy Jim great interview with him Hannibal!
We love ya Jim, one of the greatest
I met him at wrestlemania 24....Orlando....great personable guy. Jim was my namesake when I was younger ...I looked just like him
Hannibal TV is such a great interview he always let's his guest speak and he doesn't seem to make it about him. Which these days are hard to find someone that is as big as Hannibal TV. Usually they get to such a platform they think the views are for them. They let it get to their head. Hannibal does a fantastic job of getting the right people to sit down with. The mix of hip hop artist and professional wrestlers are easily the most intriguing topic for me.
Hillbilly Jim is a genuine nice guy! I used to work out at the same gym as him. He is the nicest most humble guy you could ever hope to meet. He was maybe 10-12 years younger than here so no spring chicken, but I’d wager he was easily and by far one of the strongest men I’ve ever seen & id love to have seen Andre after seeing Jim mention how huge Andre was because Jim is one of the biggest men I’ve ever seen ever! Andre must’ve truly been an 8th wonder of the world. Also took some classes with Jim’s daughter in school & she was an extremely nice woman too!
Hillbilly Jim always seemed like the most sincere and sweet guy from an outsider looking in. Always seemed very humble with the horseshit matches with him in the mid 80's but he didn't seem to mind. Plus he got a decent push when he came to the Hulksters aid during the peak of Hulkamania.
Love how he relates farming life to wrestling
I met Hillbilly Jim when I was 14. I was maybe 5’9. He was huge, nice guy.
Bless Hillbilly Jim. Lookin healthy and strong.
Andre was a legendary drinker and when Flair confirms you know he is a beast ...
Its Hard for me to see that the Guys I See Live in The 90s and 80s now and then Lex Luger was a Hero for many People in 1993 but for me everytime HBK was my Favourite when he left The Building Everything Changes.I see Andre as a Kid in Canada and he was a Awesome Guy.I have a lot of Memory on so much Big and Smaller Wrestlers but One Thing They all have CHARACTER Everyone
great guy man
Happy New Year Hannibal. Hope it's well for you, keep it up.
Hillbilly Jim will always be a favorite of mine.... 🎶Dont go messing with a country boy! 🎶
I remember going to see the wwf at the hara arena with my dad and big brother
One time went to a WWF house show and after te match with Andre I went to the 8th row where they walk to the locker room to the ring and Andre was going back ti the locker area after the match was over and as Andre was walki g back I was at the same height he was, gave him a pat on the back.
Awesome. Glad he's alive 🙂
I would never guess that was hillbilly Jim..what a great intelligent guy
Hillbilly Jim MUST be happy that Andre The Giant liked him. It made working with him a pleasure. WOE be onto you IF Andre DIDN'T like you!
Not sure how someone couldn't like Hillbilly Jim. Down to earth guy.
Every wrestler who talks about Andre, they do the baritone "HEY BOSS!" impression 😂
Dayton,Ohio- Hara Arena my home!!
You should ask Jim about his time in Memphis wrestling as Harley Davidson.
He did talk about that
What a fucking legend his stories are Awsome thanx hannibal u did a fucking great job brother dude 💪👍👌❤💯🎅🎄
This clip was originally 5 hours, but they cut it down.
OMG Diamond Dallas Page has a twin brother great interview
I adored Andre the Giant as a kid. In retrospect, his matches were bad by today's standard, but I didn't notice or care. Watching him in matches with Big John Studd and King Kong Bundy was magical. I hated when they made him lose in squash matches to the Ultimate Warrior, and I was a Warrior fan.
Speaks well, articulate. Hasn't been mentally butchered enough to look back so bitterly like a number of others and retains memories well
Jim has the facial look of the undertaker of today. They look alike today.
They really do tho
I think he looks like Diamond Dallas Page
To me he looks like someone who has had a battle with the crack pipe. Alaways liked Jim, hope I'm wrong.
Jim looks like Undertaker
Andre had a little Nephelim in him for sure.
Jim's a cool dude
Hillybilly Jim seems like the coolest guy
56 bottles, I had 8 of them
Dude a normal man would've got alchohol poison or death but hillbilly had eight and was a big dude but Andre was truly a giant and the torch was passed undertaker because i heard on the first podcast he done the church 1 that andre told taker i have a big idea for a match with me and you but sadly he died and he asked the guy that was with andre the most and he was also a referee but it bothered taker not knowing but he definitely saw something very special in taker
@@alexbergquist3110 oh ya, not saying anything bad, just like that sentence
Aussie's go on about a cricketer named David Boon who (legitimately) drank 56 cans of beer on a flight from Melbourne to London one time in the late 80s (about a 24 hour deal). Andre drank 48 of those little bottles just from Miami to Dayton which would have taken about 5 hours at best. And at best he was probably slightly tipsy lol.
Yep Jim and Andre were even in the same cartoon together.
Is HBJ Undertaker's brother? :) They look exactly alike!
Jim is in his late 60's.His beard is brown.
I am in my late 40's.My beard is nearly all white.
I'm 43 and my beard started going grey after I turned 40.
I'm sure someone dyes it for him, esp if he was going to be on The Hannibal TV, wouldn't you? It def goes a long way in concealing your age.
Just 4 men beard & mustache works wonders. But aside from that the man aged very well! I think he's 68!!
@@nonamerequired123 I'm 46 and I too started turning grey/white when I turned 40. Been rockin' the salt & pepper look ever since.
@Joseph Beckmann Genetics brother 👍
What does he mean he was in Miami on Christmas and he wanted snow? There is snow all over Miami if you know where to look🤣
LOL
He's always twitching
I like how he compared Andre to "grabbing a cow or a horse"...because of course
Caaaaaaw
Nice 😀
will it be a full interview coming?
I like this format. I can just watch the interview of wrestler I am interested in hearing about. I never have time to listen to a full hour interview.
andre was deeply in pain with his size in the later years .thats why he drank so much to make the pain go away.
it looked like he was doing this laying down
that boy be tweakin
Every wrestler I have heard says the same thing if Andre liked you, everything was good, but if he didn't like you, good luck, he would stand on your hands, or hair in the ring. Heard he wasn't a fan of Iron Sheik.
Mark Bowman Watch the match with him. The Iron Sheik was an Olympiad level martial artist but Andre gave him a beating
Is this recent? Because Jim looks great. He's close to 70. He must've taken good care of himself.
The world could use more men like HBJ.
that's the kinda man you like huh?
@@weworldwide1348
Thanks for proving my point
@@jrsmith3344 hey, I'm not mad. It's 2019. Do whoever you wanna do.
Nice man. Jim looks like undertaker or is it just me?
HBJ looks like a cross between DDP and Undertaker. He sure seems to have has wits about him. He doesn’t age either.
Just check out any of the old vids of Andre on this channel ... he made 250-320 pound men look small ......
He says grabbing Andre was like grabbing a horse or cow. Another wrestler said even bumping into Andre hurt. Why was that?
Is it me... or does he look like DDP's brother now *lol*
This is a 6'8 guy talking about how big Andre was. That alone should tell you how bigger than life he was compared to everyone else
Dat mane ain't no 6'8". He barely 6'5". Andre was -7"
If he was builled 6'9 he wasprobably 6'6 at his prime.
Heath slaters dad
Jim was 6' 7".
Andre made him look like a little kid.
Don’t go a messin’ with a country boy country boy country boy!
So its Hillbilly Jim nd not Kane ... Who is Takers Brother. 😄
Andre's criteria if he liked you was if you were under 6'4", he liked you, if you were 6'8", he hated your guts like poor Studd. Andre was very insecure about his height.
