Haku for the HOF!
Haku is so humble. He clearly did 95% of the work in those matches as Andre's body could not do much during that time. But the matches and bumps Haku took speak for themselves.
He did 95% of the work and got 0% of the glory, especially when they dropped the tag championships to Demolition at Mania 6. Very humble of him indeed.
12/89 MSG might be the most fun Andre has during a match in his heel run. He even struts around the ring until acting shocked Haku is down when he turns around.
Haku is legit tough. I've never heard any wrestlers badmouth him.great man. Hof now!

Great and underrated tag team was very impressed with them at survivor series 1988 wrestling such a long match and they still had a ton of energy at the end!
@@oriondx72 Since you know wrestling I'm pretty sure I saw old footage of them referring to Haku as Tama & Tama as Haku in at least a couple of matches. I think it might have been Gorilla Monsoon. Do you know if they switched names or maybe Monsoon was purposely doing that for effect to pretend to confuse them? Because the King Haku who continued to wrestle for a long time was referred to as Tama by Monsoon quite a bit I think.

@@Officerufo1 Yes, Haku and Tama would switch names during the match so the Ref and fans didn't know who was legal and there wasn't anything anyone could do about it. Bobby Heenan would just laugh at the stupid humanoids and rack up the wins against George South & Cowboy Patel.
I wish the Islanders would have had a bigger program in the tag team scene. Even a brief transitional championship would have been nice. Such a huge untapped potential, what a shame.

As a wrestler maybe not so much. But as a person his legend rings out, nobody wanted to mess with him (or at least those that knew him, because there were plenty of unfortunate idiots who did mess with him). He was top of the food chain in terms of toughness
The Colossal Connection vs Demolition. I liked en both as a kid I didn't know who to root for when they faced off.

I'm 6'1" 255 lbs, and I feel squashed in those airplane seats. I can't imagine what it must have been like for Andre.
He probably had to purchase two tickets and have one asscheek in each seat.

Doc Malthus I don’t think he ever managed, he would have to go before the flight and just endure it while flying, at best make a bucket arrangement and heavily compensate the crew for the mess. Even in hotels they had to make special arrangements

I had the privilege of watching Haku and Andre vs Demolition live at Wrestlemania 6.
I was 14 and I literally almost got my father and I kicked out for going after a gut throwing shit and them of their way into the ring...one security guy saw who threw it and came at got the guy and he got booted, the guy was screaming "I can't believe you're kicking me out.." Security guy with the line of the night "I can feed you to the Giant and he's the nicer of the two of them "!!!
I gotta respect Haku.

I remember this guy growing up. Haku/Meng. The king!
I always imagined him beating my father up.
My father would beat my mother and us kids a lot. Hotel to hotel. The stalking.threats.blood.machete.
I hated him so bad, Haku was the toughest guy I had in my mind for the longest.
This is going to sound stupid AF but when I was a kid, i wanted a dad like him/or just him. Sorry.

One thing about Haku I really respect is that on these shoot videos he never talks bad about the other wrestlers.

I think you should write a tell all book with a ghost writer on the fights crazy encounters famous people you've worked with and come across in your travels and call it tales from the baddest man alive and push it on wwe and busted open etc rather than just giving the quick versions of the stories. The wrestling fans would buy it. Maybe it could sell as a screenplay....talk to your nephew on who he used. The stories with your relatives in wrestling, Andre, the fights would fill a book themselves I bet.
