  • Have you ever tried Cauliflower Rice? It’s a light side dish that can be used in place of rice. It is a low-carb, healthy, veggie-packed alternative to rice. Its texture is quite similar and is neutral in taste as well.

Something a lot of people don’t appreciate is that the stem of a cauliflower is very much edible, it just takes longer to cook because it’s tougher (and you might want to shave off the outer layers with a peeler) but it’s a great way to cut down on food waste. The leaves are edible too, once washed thoroughly, they taste like slightly less sweet spinach leaves but they’re great to bulk out a soup or stew (I’d slice them crosswise, though, the leaves can be a little fibrous if you don’t shred them down).

@@sunbeam9222 right?? I love using it: one of my fave uses is dicing it up small and using it as an alternative for rice if I’m doing a chicken fried rice dish the day after I’ve used the florets. Bit more fiddly to use due to the longer cook time, but cutting it really small helps with that.

Cauliflower rice tasting delicious is a stretch. I think cauliflower is so great because it soaks in the taste of whatever seasoning you add to it. Its great to add to dishes in substitute of rice and has a lot fewer carbs than rice and doesn't seem to spike insulin levels. Thanks for this video. Its better to buy organic cauliflower and then rice it yourself for added health benefits.

some ideas if you’re “tired” of cauliflower rice… try cooking it with half brown rice. sometimes i make cauliflower rice like the halal guys rice recipe. (you can search on youtube for halal guys rice and modify those recipes with cauliflower rice.) sometimes i cook it with tomato soup, spices, and brown rice. you can also season it and cook it like mexican rice recipes, chicken and rice recipes, etc.

@@metalmarten3478 over here it wasn't exclusively in the frigde. It was made of a lot of freeze dried cauliflower with lots of E numbers and different salts (specifically magnesium, natrium and potassium salts)
That specific brand stopped producing it. They received many complaints about it. "Too chemical", "almost no cauliflower flavor" etc
      Experiment gone wrong i guess.
