Roof rack of cases, Wife, kids and grandparents would all squeeze into an 1100 /1300 and head to the seaside back in the day! Fond memories 😊

They are perfect little cars for urban / suburban driving and outings into the country, but a bit low-geared for long Swedish journeys between cities !
Of course in Sweden you have lots of trees where you can get a branch and thrash the little red 1100 when it won’t start… like Basil Fawlty….

Adam, watching this, brought memories flooding back watch my late Dad working on various cars/vans with drum brakes! He had a hub tool from SP -sykes p- something- bolted it the drum and turn up against the stub, then there was a sliding hammer!. He had served his apprenticeship in a garage that was basically BMC!

I have given this a like (as I always do, already subscribed). Glad you got the Morris through it's MOT. I served my apprenticeship working on these cars. I know you are new to this car. Firstly I would like to say that there was a spanner/wrench that had a square specifically made for the adjuster and you can actually screw it right out, there is a bevelled cam that bears on the 2 collets and to adjust you screw it in until the drum locks then back it off until the drum is free to rotate, otherwise you can have too much travel at the brake pedal. There are tools for the different jobs like the spring retainers on the brake shoes. One thing that used to seize were the handbrake pivots (ducks feet) on the radius arms. One last thing, I noticed when you were using the puller you put the lug nuts on the same way they go on wheels I would put them on backwards so less chance of damaging them and the puller. Again well done on the successful MOT. Cheers.

I grew up with drum brakes . Never cared for the replacing aspect of the hardware . They were a pain . I had a 1968 Plymouth GTX 440 magnum , 4 barrel , 4 speed and positive traction rear end Dana . It came from the factory with all 4 drum brakes , Not the best stopping for all that power from the 440 magnum .

Brake shoes looked like they were badly worn, why wouldn't you replace them? maybe i missed something.

Those shoes don't look as though they have much life left, but I suppose that's the buyer's problem.
