What Most Misunderstand When You BUILD or BUY A MS460 Motorized Bicycle Engine!

  • I just get asked these same questions 100's of times! I wanted to explain what piston ring is and why you get it! So many are not understanding that the ms380 & ms460 ar 36mm Stroke Engines by design and using 40mm crank with it is bad and why! Or why some phantom bottom ends don't work others do and so forth when building one!
    There is so much bad info on building these! You see many idiots selling these on Yd100 bottom halves and not actually doing what needs to be done to make them run correctly! Then selling them to others people with no clue what they're doing thinking they got a good running engine! The bad information continues another cycle as fact and you see a never ending cycle of failures! Such as the constant crank bearing failures! Not cause of the build! it's cause people don't set them up correctly! Or do off bad info! So before you buy a half wits idea of a ms460 build ask them This:
    Did you Use a 38mm crank?
    Did you use the correct rod?
    Did you take the 78 grams off needed to balance this correctly?
    Did you set your timing up correctly to match the Build?
    Can you guarantee no piston ring in your build your selling?
    Is this a crap brass bushing? or A Quality bronze or needle bearing?
    Did you set the clutch up correctly for a 12k rpm Engine?
    What bearings are in Case china crap or brand name?
    What is Jug lined with? please don't say chrome.... Cringe
    Chrome rings?
    What plug is in the kits #8 heat range?
    I can bet that the build you just bought off the random facebook guy for $350.00! Has a NO to every one of these questions you should ask! So sad the way people in motorized bicycle community screw over others. Half these people selling minarellis and saw builds are confused when they try to use a damn wrench, never mind should be building engines! It was whole reason I started building and selling these while back! Well out of 258 Engines sold so far! Not one of them has came back with error yet to date! This cause of the simple fact I didn't follow stupid google results people post or youtube idiots that hack job everything. The amount of info posted by other cluess people rambling on and on about stuff that does not work in reality is just amazing and always seems to be a select group of Elit idiots as most know them by now online. Which funny all in itself!
    Anyhow here is a bunch of the links from this video! They are all in order from how the video posts them! Hope it helps a few with a project there working on! As always! I don't get paid to sell items nor Do I care to! I just post info I find over time that works and what stuff people post is just crazy and want to sort most the bs info spread around by randoms with no clue how make there own builds run. so we don't continue the spread of bad information!

    I've been using the Grubee GT5 cranks (FM80 rod). They're 38mm stroke with a long connecting rod, which is perfect for these saw builds. Nice thick crank webs on them too! I think they're somewhere around 18-19mm thick.

    I got my ms460 dual spark case induction done and upon first ride(s), it blew the cylinder almost completely off. Any tricks to help cylinder stay attached?
    ZL rod, ms380 piston, roughly 2mm squish (needs to be less). Any advice is appreciated.

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Рік тому

      your using wrong piston is why gaps off so far! just use the ms460 piston! The squish would end up exactly perfect then! since ms460 piston is exactly 0.5 mm taller lol! Typical squish values are 1.2- 1.8mm squish. Changing that more you just use a pop up piston ms460 type as well! People put Ms380 pistons in phantoms thinking there the same top end. Phantom is a copy of a MS380 most just don't understand that!
      You need to use Stainless Steel tread inserts. 8mm to 6mm tread adaptors not stupid spring type most try use they never hold! www.amazon.com/FZJDSD-8MM-Male-6MM-Female/dp/B09FF74XYR/ref=sr_1_1?crid=5KZU0DT5N85N&keywords=8m+to+6m+thread+adaptors&qid=1676372068&sprefix=8m+to+6m+thread+adaptors%2Caps%2C100&sr=8-1
      If you already stripped out the 8mm case stud holes 2 options! Either plug each one with aluminum bar now, drill retap holes! Or you use 3/8 to 1/4 screw inserts. www.amazon.com/Foto-Tech-Convert-Adapter-Ballhead/dp/B00OKYWWMG/ref=sr_1_7?crid=2M6BJ1O06GN6P&keywords=9m+to+6m+thread+adaptors&qid=1676372092&sprefix=9m+to+6m+thread+adaptors%2Caps%2C101&sr=8-7
      VERY IMPORTAINT~ IF EITHER 8MM OR 3/8 ARE USED AND HOLD WELL! USE (GREEN LOCTITE THEM INPLACE) THIS WILL GET WORN OR SKETCHS THREADS A HOLDING CHANCE FOR INSERTS TO STAY IN THE ALUMINUM BUT CAN STILL BE REMOVED LATER EASY IF NEEDED! GREEN HELPS BAD THREADS HOLD BETTER! ~FILLER TYPE LOCTITE~

    So if i have a 38mm stroke crank with a the long cennecting rod. I dont need to remove material from the jug? Or use a spacer? Like with the ms660 build.

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  5 місяців тому +1

      You remove any material. Or add any on a ms460. Use a yd100 bottom end and oval the top half's holes from 54x50 to 50x50. All the yd100 cranks are 38mm stroke length anyhow.

      Ms460 has 50x56mm hole pattern. You need to make ovals 3mm off each side. (Of the jug) use 6m bolts 15mm long and (8m to 6m tread adaptors stainless steel)www.amazon.com/ADAPTERS-Threaded-Reducers-Stainless-Accessory/dp/B09MPZ5J88/ref=asc_df_B09MPZ5J88/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=647246591746&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1181224376159461320&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010577&hvtargid=pla-1953282427889&psc=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqNqkBhDlARIsAFaxvwycn_j_lyuQAmKZD_ydDjzQX_qgTjRboEcGTy8o9xYdfI5X9gNhpL8aAvQxEALw_wcB. Cylinder crank/rod/ 50mm piston.some of the case , Some say 12, 13000 rpms. . I'm a motor nut. There's talk of possibly having bike races here where I live. Don't want to say where just in case it doesn't happen. There still talking about it. But I've got a smart ass in my group of friends and hr wants to race.. I can't loose I'll never hear the end of it. He has a track that we can go to. During the summer nights a bunch of us get together and race. Nothing major but this guy thinks he can buy everything, he's an ass. What can I do with these parts. A stroker frankenstien???? Maybe is it possible?
