I watched a couple DLH videos,and went to his sight.The prices he charges are worth not having to do all the work yourself,especially if you're in an area without a good hardware store.I have 1 here that I actually have bought the ball-bearing from,along with nuts,and bolts.I still won't be building a clutch though.Thanks LA,for the great info,and a nice ride.It's not been above freezing for a couple weeks.

Another awesome video! Be careful of the spokes I've had the torque rip the spokes out after a good run. This is why using a lower HP motor is important but the spoke thing should still be priority!
Ken Tyler, Why not just buy better wheels, 10gage spoked rims, sealed bearings and an overall better idea than "going down on horsepower". And they're Disc brake equipped too. 🏁👍✌️
@@m.kasper7646 Yes I'd agree now such things are made but in 1984 when we used 10 speed bike with 50cc engine and minibike clutch the sprocket did weld to the bike hub but no such 3rd party made these in 1984.. Thin ga spoke isn't made for motorized drive was all I was saying. I haven't had spokes come loose on the 22 yz450fx and I try to break em out..
OK, super strong clutch, no slipping, got it. What I want to see a vid about is that side camera you use. What's the mount? How do you control it? And how do you take the support bar out of the picture? THAT's what inquiring minds want to know. :)
It's kinda like a selfie stick, I believe he explained it in a previous video. It basically records on the front camera at like a 190 degrees and on the back camera at like a 190 degrees and then in edit it makes the stick disappear because it's recording that extra ten degrees both ways. The simpler explanation is, he knows witch craft. It's a super sick way to be able to record isn't it.
Yes it will work on any engine . I've streamlined my product so thier is something for everyone and every engine , the SAF is one of the best on the market

If a person is worried about this a simple pant leg strap you could use , it's about as likely as catching your pants in the chain .. this is a custom option like on custom motorbikes with a open belt drive

Definitely a cool ass clutch and never having one myself I have always thought they are more for high end or big power builds and just never thought a basic motor really needs one. However if you base your decision on cool factor it's a no brainer. I gotta say I have been wanting to make my own for a while now, just cause it's cool looking.

Yep, got pulled over on the Phatmoto doing about 35mph. Got searched got padded down, ran my driver's license. Two of them, they wanted to give me some but they didn't know what, so they let me go. In NH they could have given me $100 Citation for unregistered vehicle, but I wasn't going to tell them that.
Check your local law about “moped” specifications and see what is considered or classified as a “moped” ie, seat height, engine size ( usually 50cc and below but they can’t really prove if you’re running 66cc or higher), mirrors, lights and signals etc. I used to get shit all the time from the cops but they could never ticket me cause they were clueless on what I was actually riding. I eventually wrote an email to the chief of police explaining that my bike met the specs of a moped and to my amazement he wrote back telling me I was in the clear then and if I were to get stopped again just to show the email to the officer….no more problems 💪🏼
That is why I put a 49cc sticker on my motor. Legally I don't have to register in my state . Plus I don't go crazy in heavy traffic/population areas. I have noticed the police checking me out on a few occasions and they seem to want to do something about it, but then they just turn the head and act like they didn't notice me. It's actually a pretty big waste of their time to try to make something happen that gets them in my sheet. I want to put a 212cc on my Phatmoto, but it is too obvious when it's sitting up there looking All huge😂. I'm in the process of building a Felt Faker 2 stroke minerelli type skreet racer and I might do the 212 once I get that rolling completely. There's a lot of stuff I could do to the 79cc of the Phatty while it is out too, Port/polish/grind valve seats. Carb jets for max performance, exhaust mods, etc etc etc and I have a strong desire to try that stuff too. I've heard of people WHO DOUBLED their HP with mild energy applied to the build. Possibly get 8HP With some work? With that light an engine, it's a compelling option compared to the heavy 212.
I really like these kits I like the complicity of them cool as hell but it's so hard to find a good plug and play with enough power to get u out of trouble with someone driving stupidly and dnt look out .I am waiting on new rings for this phantom hopefully this will be the last time I have to send this thing back it killed most of summer waiting on it all .my kids are tight lol

Hey, how come you haven’t done a review of the bbr tuning kits? I’d like to see your review and opinions on them (particularly the 100cc). I’ve been considering buying one soon to start my early spring builds.
I would’ve kept my motorized bike but if I was going on a ride for 10 minutes or more my spark plug was getting really hot and started to melt the boot. Any ways to work around this and make it not heat up so quickly?

This bike was built slowly for over a year~. I estimate it came out to be about $1,500. As for the clutch, it's linked in the video description, and the website is shown in the video.
This frame "F-Zero" and the "Zeda Dawn V2" both come set up like that out of the box. They use a large rear rotor, smaller rear sprocket, and spacers to make it work. You can do it your self, but it's too much of a hassle for me to bother with. Kevin, from ua-cam.com/users/KevinTodd did his own, I think he has some videos about it.
I'm looking to upgrade to a motorcycle clutch and cable as well, do you recommend anything specific that would translate over good for these motorized bike engines? I have 0 experience with actual motorcycles so I have no idea what they use vs our use case.

This is the F-Zero, The CDH frame it is built on is nice and solid, but the rest of the part are nothing specials... Knowing what I know now, I would build onto this frame with better parts. Even if it means using a cheap Cranbrook as my daily while I slowly build something better in the background.

There’s 2 chains, the original bike chain and the motor chain. Your gears only affect the pedal chain (original) chain. Motor drive chain is only one speed. You can still pedal if going slow enough. Range is excellent if you’re just cruising the streets
Good video, But I have no need of some clutch that costs as much as my whole engine did. To each their own I don't see how it does much of anything accept let in dirt and debrief every time you use the clutch. $115 for a clutch, I don't think so! Hell I only paid $140 for the entire engine kit. Cool look but that's not what I built mine for.
If you owned a minarelli probably need one or hi hp engine , your in a different class with all dew respect ! if your running a stock engine .there is no need for the SAF Super Clutch, I have several the top is 115 to my budget SAF Ata very reasonable price 45.00 , But as LA Hover states in video a stock engine just would not require this upgrade

DLH clutches are crazy overpriced like holy Moses heard they grip the pads like no tomorrow Edit: also heads up sounds like your small bevel gear is gonna shoot out soon my Zelda 80 with a DIO upgrade start making a squeaking sound around the clutch area and thought I was slipping and on the way home the small gear ripped itself to smitherings I was glad it blew out close to home otherwise I’d have a long heavy and painfully hilly ride home

Thanks for the heads up It's good, you might be hearing the clutch dragging when I pull it in because it needed to be re-adjusted. His Force clutch comes in at $80 with the same bite and a nice look, it just does not have the custom face plates witch are what takes more time to make. And I predict the $45 budget clutch will have around 70-80% the performance of the super too, it just uses the stock presser plate. Performance and looks for every price range :)

How safe is this with the exposed rotating clutch? I'd be worried about getting my pants leg caught in it.

2, tune your engine a bit richer
