i mean the response from their manager makes sense, given what he was saying plus the interview moz and marr did where they mentioned joy division talking about the "manchester sound". moz said they're only really relevant cos Ian died, and because of the public romanticism of "dead" bands. the wit of the mancunians strikes again...
Thing is if you took the smiths and joy d and brought them to the currnet day to look at the music scene, im sure theyd share very similar opinions about it

The difference is, this anecdote doesn't sound like a recent one, and back then (in the 80s and 90s), Morrissey wasn't racist. It's true that he was accused of racism in around 1992, but that was just the NME trying to get a good scoop - everyone who knew him said it was all lies. Hey man I’m probably the biggest Morrissey/smiths fan out there, and I still don’t like the guy too much. I mean he literally called Chinese people subhuman which is just horrible
@@usandusonly32 Squires has made ONE decent album in the 3 decades the Stone Roses were around - Marr was 23 when he left the Smiths in 1987 - I fully admit he's done nothing of interest since then but his legacy in that band was vast. I'm guessing you are one of those die-hards who believe The Second coming was a better album than the first?
