Have seen Morrissey several times. The Smiths and Blondie and X and Jefferson Airplane are my favorite bands for many many many years. Being 5 feet from the stage while Morrissey laid on his back with his feet up on the drum kit singing "How Soon Is Now" was a supernatural experience I've never forgotten.

and to be more exact, it seems to me that he has always loved mozzer, but during his youth noel was sort of shy of his love for morrissey as he was a 100% straight working class lad. morrissey's persona doesn't go well with it to be truly honest. anyway as a big fan of both the smiths and oasis I am very happy that the Chief has spoken his truth :)

Noel is a far better radio personality than he is a stage performer. At this later stage in life he could build a very lucrative and rewarding 2nd career if he went into broadcasting/podcasting full-time. But he likely won't ... cuz of that silly rock star ego thing.

I sometimes think if you took Morrisey from The Smiths, you'd end up with Oasis. You'd still have killer songs, but a lot less irony.
Noel may have millions in the bank, but he'll always lack the social upbringing and class of Morrissey and Brand who relied on their intelligence and talent rather than an anti-social big mouth.

I vacillate between who I prefer - LG or NG. On balance I think I'll always take LG. There's something about his feral charm that is charming, fun and charismatic.. And when it's on point, his voice is remarkably, soul-slappingly good - when it's off point (*ahem* circa 2006 tour and bits of 2009 tour - WTF happened there?) it erases all good vibes you had towards the band. Yes, NG wrote the songs, but he can also be pretentious, Liam wouldn't know how to be pretentious. Then again, Liam is one of those annoying people that's NEVER read a book (a man whose approaching 50, whose so dumb and lacks even the smallest attention span, he is incapable of reading a book). Noel is extremely derivative, contributes nothing new to music, but tired, hackneyed, dad rock, pedestrian guitar licks he's nicked off infinitely superior bands from the 60s, not even building on it, just nicking it...Liam doesn't even contribute that. Liam is funny, but. Noel is funny. but also mean-spirited (which can be funny
