Not slipper clutch but a variant slipper. The Super Slip Zircon Six. At least on the German models. Not sure if available stateside yet. Gut sein mein freund.
Especially the way they tuned the I4 in the cb650r. Plenty of low end so you don't miss the twin, yet always knowing there's a whole other beast if you rev it past 6k rpms. 🤘
But is it retro though? To me its an odd styled naked bake (which it is) Im hard pressed to find the retro in this bike.. its to modern (not really a bad thing) to be called retro. I dont think buyers of a MGV7, Bonnie or W800 will have this eyesore on their shortlist also

Skip it. Find an fz09, or fz07 if top end horsepower isn't super important to you. The fz8 is a heavy slow turning, machine that doesn't make power until your way up in the rev range and its geared to the moon so it takes some time to get there. Doesn't feel playful at all by comparison.
Dude, a cafe bike here in the civilized world has ; -clubman bars-small race like windscreen-loud pipes -small race like seat.so basically everything the XSR has NOT!.Also the MT 07 (that you repeatedly call ms07 for some strange reason) is not ugly .It is a MANGA style inspired bike very Japanese and unique whereas the XSR is actually not beautifull with its unagreeable ,busy appearence for the non techs. In reality its the no nonsense retro look seniors appreciate ;"a waterpump has its own charm just beeing that and there and dooing its job" halleluhjah the guys at Yamaha totally nailed it when creating this fun machine.Good day and God speed brother!
Just because it has some retro styling and isn’t a cruiser doesn’t make it a cafe bike. It’s a naked standard with some retro elements to it.. it’s competition is the Kawasaki Z900RS and Triumph speed/street twin or R9T

I test road this and the xsr900. Didn't like them simply because the seat feels squared off and doesn't feel natural like the more rounded off seats on the mt-07 and mt-09. Also the footpegs kept slamming into the inside of my legs when I put my feet down at a stop. They're in a terrible spot. I've never had that happen on any other bike.
It doesn't look that different in style to a 1980's Yamaha Diversion. To me this is no cafe racer. The Moto Guzzi V7 Is far, far more in the style of a cafe racer.
@@tomekhohn the care racer was "invented" in the UK in the 1950's. To make the bikes look faster and more aggresive, the riders fitted clipon handlebars and rear set gear and brake levers. No matter if a Norton or a BSA or a Triumph or an AJS, etc, they all had a very similar silhouette. In pretty much the same way that the bobber evolved in the US following WWII, which also has a distinctive silhouette. The Yamaha does have a cafe racer silhouette (whereas the Moto Guzzi nearly does), and is just another "non sportsbike" bike.
@@jerzywoking1699 I understand the history of the cafe bike, I've built my own. I don't think the bike fits the traditional definition of a cafe bike, but I'm saying that if you watch the video(which I highly recommend, fortnine is one of the best motorcycle channels) they explain how the Yamaha xsr series actually represents a reasonable interpretation of a modern cafe bike
@@tomekhohn I've followed Fortnine for years, and agree that his reviews and tips are excellent because they are scientifically proven. However, just because Yamaha say they based the bike on a cafe racer doesn't make it one. A cafe racer is a set layout. Even UA-cams "The Inja" has just built an electric bike based on a Honda CB750 that, with its clipons and riding stance fully captures the spirit of the original cafe racers. All it needs is a polished alloy tank. But that's just my opinion.

The XSR is not a cafe racer. It is a neo retro standard. You can convert it to a cafe race very easily though.
Correct. Cafe, scrambler, names just banded around by youtubers.
The Husqvarna Vidpillen 701 is IMHO a better cafe racer. It is lighter, nimbler and is powered by the biggest massproduced 1 cylinder 4 stroke so far. :)
May I ask why you placed this as an advanced rider bike? I’ve been on a 125 for 1,5 years and will be doing my big license next year. I really want this one, anything I should know? Some other videos said this was beginner friendly.
What is it with all those cables in the air in the US? Looks really messy and home made.
Looks good when your in the saddle but not from the side. Take issue with this bike being called a cafe racer, really more standard or naked bike.
Nice! Does it have slipper clutch? Thanks
Not slipper clutch but a variant slipper. The Super Slip Zircon Six. At least on the German models. Not sure if available stateside yet. Gut sein mein freund.
What would be a competing model from other makers?
Ducati scrambler series and Husqvarna Svartpilen/Vitpilen
what does a slipper clutch do? Is it like a Rekluese clutch?
Has it only got one rear view mirror? And on the right (wrong) side? 😎
How do you feel about the Benelli Leoncino? Thanks. Happy Easter. God Bless.
I would say in stock form it's a retro naked, not a cafe racer imho. However, add the seat cowl and lower bars and then it is more cafe racer
5:31 Is that a cop sitting on the side? That would have been great. Wheelie right past the police. Lol
Don't you have another yt channel? Where do I know you from?
Thanks for the review. If I may ask, how tall are you?
This is more a "retro" than a "cafe racer" but also the 2019 and up Honda CB650R would like to have a say in this discussion. Inline 4 > Parallel Twin
Especially the way they tuned the I4 in the cb650r. Plenty of low end so you don't miss the twin, yet always knowing there's a whole other beast if you rev it past 6k rpms. 🤘
But is it retro though? To me its an odd styled naked bake (which it is)
Im hard pressed to find the retro in this bike.. its to modern (not really a bad thing) to be called retro. I dont think buyers of a MGV7, Bonnie or W800 will have this eyesore on their shortlist also
Honda is not that much fun to ride, as it has it's top power and torque number further up the rev range, I love my XSR 700 and would not trade it for CB650, but I undertand that others may have a different opinion.
@@odbytkonia1649 alright well I will counter with the 2019 CB1000R that has plenty of low end torque. I current have a 2012 and that has power all over.
@@troymoore4574 Indeed, but that is a litre bike that costs, what almost twice as much ? I have a feeling that we are comparing oranges to apples here.
Do you have any Harley street bobs
Why don’t you have any sport bikes for sale?
Love the video! By any chance can you tell me what model your boots are… very interested in buying some.
I have a 2016 XSR 900 and I love it. I got it after watching your video a while back
Can’t wait for you to ride and review Kawasexy Z900rs, either standard or cafe. Great tribute to the “The New York Steak,” Z1 from 1972. Premium fit and finish, comfort and handling, exhaust note, and fun, smooth 4 cylinder torque and buzz. You would not be disappointed!
Can you do another review on the FZ-08? Something more in depth?
Skip it. Find an fz09, or fz07 if top end horsepower isn't super important to you. The fz8 is a heavy slow turning, machine that doesn't make power until your way up in the rev range and its geared to the moon so it takes some time to get there. Doesn't feel playful at all by comparison.
You say you sit higher on the xsr 700 than fz07. So are the legs not that much bend like when riding the fz07?
Sry for my bad english.
Yes, this is true. I own an XSR700 and learned to ride on an MT07. Your legs are more bent on the MT07.
Is this any good for a tall person 6,4
Just because it has some retro styling and isn’t a cruiser doesn’t make it a cafe bike.
It’s a naked standard with some retro elements to it.. it’s competition is the Kawasaki Z900RS and Triumph speed/street twin or R9T
Hey SRK fam...What’s the best way to rent a bike? I’m going to South Carolina and Florida in April and I’m looking at options.
Sean , I am from Europe and don’t Even own Any bike. But somehow i watch every video you guys post on this channel and bikes and beards😂✅

Is there a “ best” year to get?
Yeah I'm really digging these bikes, so many different ways to modify to make it your own custom, and plenty of power 👍😊😎😎
Hey sean, do you have a review of a mt-09 or 07?
whats another Cafe bike but with like 500cc or less? Im looking for more of a chill bike.
I'am 6 foot 2 inches tall and 260 pounds heavy would I be fine on the new mt/fz 07?
can you do a review on the kawasaki 650rs?
Those gloves look so awesome!!
Would you put a visor on it
my first bike, 2019 xsr700, I freaking love this bike, have a full system Yoshimura exhaust, K&N air filter and flashed ECU, puig levers, with a bunch of cosmetic upgrades, I cant recommend it more, I got it out the door with 7.2k, that said its not a cafe racer, it has a standard seat position, higher handlebars, but it is easily modified to be a full on cafe racer, scrambler or brat style, its a vintage retro modern bike
I just left dealership ..2022 xsr700 guy said $11k out the door. Is that to high price ???
@@romeofoxtrot363 way too high, I paid 8300 out the door for my 2019 xsr 700 in 2020
@@christopher2327 I could see some inflation but agreed way to high prices now
I have the 2020 XSR900 and I have to ride in the city a lot. It gets hot, it really needs to breathe so if you’re a city rider, I’m not sure I would suggest this. Long rides, it’s a great bike!

I love it when I can find a UA-cam channel that loves two things that I do: motorcycles and God
you NEED to try the Honda cb650r. Best Cafe racer in my opinion. And I own an MT07.
You need to get the Royal Enfield Continental GT650, that is the best cafe racer rn imo.
My vote is the Suzuki SV650 Cafe.
xsr700 0-60 slower than the vulcan s?? Vulcan s got 4.38 right?

would this be a bad first bike to get
@srkcycles what camera and mic set up do you use when when on the motorcycle the audio is really clear also what helmet do you use ? thanks in advance
Triumph Thruxton is the best manufactured cafe racer.
I'm interested in buying the Yahama SCR because I'm looking for a dual sport for medium trails and I'm not very tall so it's a good hight for me. Do you or anyone in the comments have any thoughts on it? I'd rather get the Triumph version but it's quite a bit more expensive.
You should get on the CB650R or CB1000R and give your thoughts
Finally a youtuber that reviews café racers
Racer TV
@@martykasa4067 YES, have watched many of his videos
I bought you're 2105 FZ-07 - I still love it. perfect fit for me. 👍🏍💗
Hello there , how r u hope u r good . I am huge fan of YAMAHA engines and frame , but some where not fan there design out looks . I personally prefers yamaha . I am from India i am waiting of lonch of yamaha XSR 155 . This is small engine bike but good one , give some sudjection of yours , I really want some big engine bike like in this video 700 XSR , I like it . Ok Will u tell me sujeust me a tourer motorcycle & cruser . I only like 3 types of motorcycle naked , tourer & cruser . In cruser Harley davidson fat boy is my bench mark . I want that one . But u tell me with ur experience which motorcycle on this category is excellent bike. Stay safe , Drive safe .
can someone tell me what "kind of advanced bike" means? because I´m a beginner and thinking of getting a XSR 700
As long as you have a brain and throttle control it's not a bad bike but the power might intimidate a new rider. I bought a XSR700 as my first street bike but I have years of dirt riding experience.
@@ganuvien Thanks for the answer!
Hey @Srkcycles - on the video, you seem quite tall. How does the bike feel regarding your height? Thanks in advance!
Bike is lady version so she's all about his height. He's 6' 1''.
Nice , I always like looking at collections
Me and my brother both got one! Love it, super fuel efficient also
Same colors too?
@@Frip36 no he has a brushed aluminium one, i have the Kenny Roberts anniversary edition 😎 both with koso led headlights and lots of custom parts. Awesome bikes
How is the vibration?
Was debating between this and the Vulcan S. Since the was a Kawasaki dealer in town and no yamaha, I went Vulcan. But I still want this or the 900
🤣 love your vids, and your faith. 😇
Dude, these aren't cafe racers. It's a street naked bike.
A Triumph Thruxton is a cafe racer...
Can you review the Kawasaki ZRX1200R
Watching from Taiwan! Let me know where I can get these gloves...and a T-shirt!!!!
What do you mean by "cafe" bike?
It doesn't look that different in style to a 1980's Yamaha Diversion. To me this is no cafe racer. The Moto Guzzi V7 Is far, far more in the style of a cafe racer.
Check out fortnines review, they cover why it fits well as a "modern" cafe racer, and not just a retro bike. It's had more done to it than you think
@@jerzywoking1699 that makes sense, the bike doesn't fit the traditional definition, but I feel as though it doesn't do bad as a modern cafe-style tourer
nice bike but why can't yamaha design headlights ?😬
