Carl Li yes and cast memebers stayed in interviews from the Get go that the character change costumes during the season. I mean people that were mad really thought that they were gonna give robin, hawk and dove those comics accurate costumes and just leave the rest in obviously civilian clothing.
Though I suppose, if it is reactionary, it's DC wanting fans to know that the characters' looks DO evolve from how they look at the start. But it's not them changing anything.

thats what I was thinking, Im pretty sure they have been done filming everything for a while now, and so I don't think its a reaction to how people saw the costume, i think thats just how they choose to evolve the character over the show
I’m pretty sure this is them sticking to their guns, Anna has said multiple times in the past that the promo pics for starfire weren’t her final look and that she’ll get an accurate costume. People just weren’t patient and judge things without context
Agreed but to me, its such a stereotype to make a black person a hooker.. I think the actress should of spoke up about her first appearance not looking like she belong on a corner somewhere..
You can’t blame people for judging though. That is the look they advertised the show with and used for promo pictures... if they didn’t want backlash they should’ve teased her actual look in the trailer

yeah, i expected the worst, and im still not holding my breath for something amazing, but the first episode was a lot better than the trailer made it all seem. The trailers all made it seem really low quality and low budget, still waiting to see the rest of the season to really judge, but so far it looks goood
I’m tired of people not letting these shows and movies run their course. People are impatient. Let these characters evolve into the heroes they are supposed to be. I was frustrated when people were dogging DCEU for these characters not being accurate to the source materiel. They were clearly evolving. Let’s just watch and see where it goes. So far I’m very interested in where it’s going.

iamtheONE totally different issue, did the general public know of DD before Netflix, no. Did the general public AND fans know about the Titans before this streaming service? Yes, because of the original title, the Teen Titans and it’s animated form. Even just the animated series fans who knew nothing of the comics expected them to get the characters mostly right, especially Beast Boy and Starfire as they are green and orange skinned humanoids! (humanoid meaning “looking human”)
Also, it’s “story arc”. A story arc (also narrative arc) is an extended or continuing storyline in episodic storytelling media such as television, comic books, comic strips, boardgames, video games, and films with each episode following a dramatic arc. On a television program, for example, the story would unfold over many episodes.
A costume change isn’t compelling enough for a season or multi episode arc. Neither is a crappy origin and amnesia excuse for one of DCs most popular team and individual characters since her first appearance.
Daredevil actually stuck to story arcs previously created and no comic book has portrayed Starfire as Foxxy Brown.
@@AC-gb7do So....in which of the first Teen Titans episodes did it show you all of the Titans meeting before they were Titans? It didn't, it jumped right in with them already being a team and showed you elements of them meeting in later episodes. This isn't a cartoon and most mainstream audiences have no idea who these characters are, even with there already being a cartoon out. There was an Ironman cartoon out years before the first movie. Did most mainstream viewers know who Tony Stark was when IM1 dropped? No they didn't. In real life people grow, they change/adapt and they have more than one outfit that they wear on a daily basis. To assume that these characters would never change in anyway throughout the series, especially after all the cast and crew said they would, shows both a lack of patience and intelligence

I HATE Starfire's initial costume. But after seeing the other 2 pics of the upcoming alternate costumes, suddenly I dont hate the original so much, because the alternates look worse.

but even the teen titans show is not super comic accurate so I don't think its fair to compare them. I would like to see them have some more OG titans, like Donna Troy, Roy Harper, Kid Flash. But Roy and Wally are both in the CW show, but it would be cool to see them pull those characters in too but it would probably be with different actors, just since I can't see this world existing in the Arrowverse really

I believe Donna troy will be scheduled to be in episode 9 i think based on what the episode guide said, she is possibly before or after the episode where jason todd's episode but still it will mostly be in one of the last 3 episodes of season 1 since she has a episode entitled with her name

their animated stuff has been on point for a long time though.
It's really remarkable as their animated film universe has been pretty excellent. If they just followed that blueprint they would be on equal footing with Marvel! Aquaman seems to be mirroring the "JL:Throne of Atlantis" film minus the league with a noted detailed live action turn with Wan.
It was stated from the start the costumes we first saw weren't the final ones, Anna Diop literally said it defending the leaked pictures. Interesting how you conveniently left that part out, considering how you called her out on it when the official promo pictures dropped. I like your content but like other coomentors have said, you've missed the mark here.

Yeah. She talked about how the show wasn't that bad in context, despite the awful trailer and says 'beta male' because Raven and Starfire look badass compared to him in his civilian clothes. It will probably make sense in context, like there's a reason he's in those clothes in that scene, not because 'beta male'. And Starfire is undercover in the beginning of the series, so that's probably more her regular look.

People want to rip it to shreds just because its a remake, but it really wasn't that bad besides Starfire's horrible outfit and Raven's terrible acting. Raven's actor is garbage. In a perfect world, Maisie Williams (a.k.a Arya from game of thornes) would've been a perfect Raven.

I would go as high as $25 a month for Warner media streaming service if it includes all media, front to back, and throughout time, plus HBO. And, $35 if it included theatrical releases as well - none of this select inventory, here this month, gone the next.
Put that package on top of Amazon Prime and Disney streaming, and bye bye cable or Netflix (we'll miss you FX and History Channel 😭)
Seems that DCU wants a service like CBS All Access without the content. CBS All Access (this is going to sound like a commercial) give you access to all CBS for about six bucks with commercials (10 without) which not only includes Star Trek Discovery, but all the Star Trek series and the movie Galaxy Quest. And CBS does the little things for fan service like the ST:D shorts and the ST:D after show discussion and all of the content stays available (not sure about the movies though). DC/WB seems to be shooting themselves in the foot again.
Starfire was never meant to be stuck with the hooker outfit... it was confirmed before the premier even aired, so it wasn’t due to reactions or what not. It’s part of her story :/

They don't need to give her green starbolts. That was an invention of the cartoon. Her starbolts were originally yellow, red, and magenta in her debut issue.

Original Starfire can fly. But two seasons over and this Starfire hasn't flown. It was stupid to me watching her drive a car around. It's one thing if she was passengers, but she drove by herself a few times.
There is still the possibility that she gets captured and experimented on to be given extra powers. That's how she got her starbolts in the comics.

No amount of costume change will change the fact she looks 10 years older than everyone else.
That's not Starfire, period. It's not just the initial costume either. Her powers are different, the character acts completely different, and she looks different. They messed up, no other way to put it.
As far as WB starting a streaming service, especially at that price, it's a bad idea. With every new service that is started, the incentive for people to start pirating again goes up. The reasons Netflix can get away with that price is that the were first and that they have so much to offer. Each studio/network that starts their own won't have enough to offer.

From what I can see it feels like a natural evolution of the characters, style included. For sure nothing comparable to the dumpster fire that was Iron Fist. Or The Preacher S1 to make a similar example.

Titans looks like it's going to be good. They've nailed Robin and Starfire. Not so sure about Raven but they've deliberately given her room to grow so i'm not against her character...yet.
It comes down to the math. Will they gain more fans than they burn by being more comics acurate? I think so, which equates to more subscriptions to the DC subscription thing.
They announced the costume change really early on. This isn't news and it's definitely for story reasons. This isn't a course change, it was always the plan.
Here's the thing, ...Your particular access point to these streaming services is critical to many parents (and customers in general) because of bandwidth/monthly data usages. Not all families have unlimited data on their monthly internet service. Streaming in 4K and "binge watching" ...when combined, ...can get expensive in a hurry.

People have always complained about something before they see the actual product. D.C has always done this thing of having the character be destroyed and then building them up to the person we know from the comic.....people just have to wait for them to get there

I'm glad I gave titans a chance because I thought that first epsiode pretty darn good even though I feel the characters are changed drastically
The changes are WAY better, especially for Starfire. The hair looks so much better. And at first the problem wasn't her skin colour, I mean, sure she's an orange alien, but the actor's skin colour didn't bother me. The problem was the outfit and the hair, really horrid combo. Glad they changed it.

They kept saying looks were temporary, but no one would listen. One of the most common reaction to certain "fans" is to hate then love something. Sure, maybe they should've started with those looks in the beginning, but they were trying to create to build up. Unfortunately it's like a double edge sword I can do as much harm as it does good

I don't understand this video or most of the points you made in it. Although I respect the valid points you had that made sense, you're making it out to be DC/Warner Bros. seeing the reaction to starfire's first outfit and saying "Woahh! They didn't like that. Let's fix it before we lose potential viewers" And that's not the case. It was planned from the beginning, and the whole starfire train started from people judging it out of context or with little or no information towards it. The same is happening in this video, and might happen more as time goes on.
They won't lose me, I always supported Ms Anna Diop. Yea I agree with the ad campaign thing that was crap, but I like the fact they are all older, the show is called Titans ,not teen titans, this show is for the 80's kids in there 30's to 40s who grew up and want a mature take on some of there classic heroes , I will support this show in full. Told since the first trailer when I saw the actual effects for Beast Boy and Starfire, and Edgelord Robin: IT WILL WORK!
They are setting the ground for a pretty adaptative second season. They make us used to small portions of characters and dynamic changes on them, BOOM, they are free to do changes INSIDE seasons, instead of between seasons.
I'm just genuinely confused at the difference of complexity detail and care given to Robin, Hawk, and Doves costumes compared to Ravens and Starfire's 🤷 So man y concepts to go off of, even with a budget they had, idk I'm still kind of disappointed
I completely agree with you with the costume change. I also agree that the show should be a binged show rather than weekly show (save that for the network lol). Hopefully they see that when they release Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, and the Harley Quinn Animated Series. I see what they’re doing, but I don’t think it will work that way on a Streaming Service.

I am going to say this. the whole thing about all these media companies making their own separate streaming services you're better off going back to cable. You'll see we will end up paying 200 to 300 dollars a month in total for streaming. I always knew streaming was a mistake.
