you're the only one on UA-cam that mentioned about hearing a swishing sound in the dashboard of my car. Which I've been hearing for about two years never knew it was air bubbles in my heater core. Thanks for the great information

excellent video but a note to help people whoes heater blows cold sporadically or at low rpm. Just buy a spill-proof funnel. It makes it possible to bleed the air out of the the cooling system without too much trouble, and it has a rod with a stopper on the end so you can put the extra coolant back in your bottle! I can't recommend it enough!

OUCH!!--ALL THE ISSUE WAS IS THAT THE PLASTIC COOLANT TANK OFF TO THE SIDE WAS DRY AND OR CLOGGED. That is not an overflow tank--the engine when started suctions water in and feeds it back out as the engine runs. If you blow cold at low rpm but heater works fine on the highway or by revving the engine the HEATER IS AIR LOCKED. At higher rpm-s--the force of the water overcomes the airlock and forces some hot water through. That coolant tank must be clean and the hole in the bottom and the hose to below the radiator cap must be clear and hose pristine and totally sealing with no damage. Your problems would have been solved instantly for free. I have uploaded a brief amatuer video showing the tank and how bad mine was. I agonized for five years and cleaning then FILLING THAT TANK WITH 2 INCHES OF COOLANT FIXED IT INSTANTLY. OK I have a 2007 ford f-350 it can sit out front all day and it blows cold air when I drive it it blows hot air when I stop at a red light or coast down hill it blows cold what could this be ?
could be the blend door that controls the mixture of hot/cold air. sounds like the control cable for it broke loose, so the door flops around, changing from really hot to cold on its own. when stopping or going downhill the blend door may move forward and close completely, and then flops back when accelerating or going uphill. thus leads to either hot or cold extreme conditions.
