I replaced a blower motor last year a few months after the heat wouldnt work but it would still blow but it was summer so I wasnt worried about it but now it doesnt turn on at all since I just replaced the blower motor last year should I try replacing the resistor first?
2011 Chevy Traverse can you do a video on the amplifier location in that truck I'm seeing three different videos but I don't see the amplifier and also there's a fuse box under the glove box on the passenger side which one is the amplifier fuse the radio play in the tweeters but it don't play in the doors the amplifier I was told to check amplifier in a fuse but where is all that located I cannot find it
I have a 2007 ford expedition I have had everything replaced for the ac..the condenser, the lines , blend doors, the actuator , compressor , ECT..all relays and fuses are working. The system is charged no leaks detected Ac works fine for months then goes back to hot air then works again for a while then stops this is a dual ac system makes no sense what could cause it to work fine then stop .. what could the issues be?????
As a single mom on a budget, I really appreciate 1A Auto. Y’all have no idea! Fixed my AC, 3 different fuses, and my brakes. I feel so dam accomplished!
I have seen so many unhelpful videos on this topic (well-meaning but horrible quality), but this one was comprehensive and explained everything very well for a non-mechanic to understand.
Excellent video. Did the basic test light check at the motor harness, power was there. So as suggested, i ordered both blower and resister 6 days ago. They came in the mail today. Took about 20 minites to swap out my 08 tahoe and now the air blows freely again....just before the ice and snow that is coming tomorrow! Thank you!
Check your cabin filter aswell! The low pressure created by the blower motor from a clogged cabin filter can put excess strain on the blower, resistor and circuit.
Thanks for this! Helped me to understand the system and check everything. My fan was making noise for a day, then it stopped turning which caused the resistor to smoke. I watched the video, pulled the motor and found it was binding. Replaced it. Pulled the resistor, and smelled it! Yes, it smelled like burnt plastic, which was same smell when the system smoked. Replaced resistor, checked all fuses. Replaced both for less than 100$. Thanks for the video! 🙏🏼
I got a test light from O'Reilly and it couldn't reach the positive side of the terminal. I didn't have my tools on me either. While I plugged the blower motor back in it started to work again. These helped me narrow it down, I think it's a loose wire in the connector. Thank you
Thank you a million times. My fan blower motor went out in the middle of the winter. I've been having several problems with my car and didn't want to sink too much more money into it. Thanks to your video and a few others I was able to change it myself and was only out the cost of the part. You saved me hundreds of dollars vs. bringing it into a shop. 😊
resistors contribute to alot. fun fact, if your car is having the issue of heating or cooling only one side of the car (left vs right) many times its a faulty resistor. after trying to recharge the a/c system and checking blendoors, the resistor turns out to be the culprit more than not.
Most explanatory video I have ever seen very good video this isn't even the year model in looking for but just your explanation is very descriptive and explained the functions of both the parts for me as well thanks for the video helped me out tremendously ..
Very informative video not like the other videos that just tell you about one thing and don't explain everything else you have really helped us all save money you guys are the best.
I have a question about the resistor…I get a natural gas or rotten egg smell every few minutes or so when my blower is running. Is that the resistor ? I just replaced my blower and everything works. I just can’t get rid of the smell. I changed the cabin air filter like 3 times. Thanks in advance!! You’re doing a great service for a lot of people.
The production, presentation, and walk through in detail was all I needed. So grateful for you. Two years with no air conditioning. Watched your video replaced blower motor and blower motor resistor. Turned on ac and was blasted with two years of dust lol. Subscribed Thank you! 🙏
Love your videos very helpful, only thing I would add is clean connections sometimes you get lucky! Like I did, on mine was the blower motor connections were to dirty wouldnt let it get power

What do you do when your blower not working in your 2001 Bruella say I want to you can look cool air coming up but do you know here in the blower motor run
Got mine to work just by taking it out and spinning by hand. It was tight to spin so brushes are probably going out. won't last long but it will be good enough till I pick up a blower motor.
checked motor blower/fan is good, cold switching and warm switching works I can feel it air changing temperature next to the fan...but the air is still not blowing from the fans - 2010 honda crv ex
I love you guys and your videos. Wanted to replace both items today and it seems 1A Auto does not carry any of the parts. It doesn't list on the website.
Wiggle the plug/wire harness going to the blower motor resistor , I replaced both the resistor and the blower motor. Worked for a few months then failed again , while taking it apart again with the fan in the on position it started working, now replacing the wire harness
Mine was intermittent. Just a connector that needed a good cleaning. The hard part is getting my eyes on it under the dash in the hot weather. I did visit the dealer. If I need to replace it I definitely be ordering from Autodoc for 800 euro less.
All my connectors, fuses, and fan had power. Of course after taking the fan out and checking if it still worked. Fan switches on module did not turn when on any setting. Found out later it was the blower resistor after a new one was put on. 2013 Nissan rogue S.
The blower on my impala got so it would stop running . sometimes after 20 or 30 minutes but sometimes after a few seconds. Bought a resistor to replace it but discovered that wiggling the plug on the resistor made the blower start or stop. Shot some contact cleaner in the plug and the prongs on the resistor. Plugged it back in and wiggled the plug. Also plugged and unplugged a few times. It seems to be fixed without any parts. Will take the resistor back if it continues to work.
Your video helped a lot but problem was different ! I removed fuse in power box for front blower to check it (40A box style clear top) and saw no problem with meter. When I put it back everything working now! Can’t explain except it rebooted fan circuit Thanks
He did, he tested the writing harness that goes to it, and the resistor input/output, if power is going either way, you know which part is faulty. Process of elimination, my man
I replaced my blower because it was noisy then stopped. I didn't know about the resistor. So far my fuses seem ok. The new blower isn't working. So, it could be the control switch or the resistor. Still learning how to do things the hard way....
You say to check the fuses....but which fuses are you checking specifically? When I pull up my fuse diagram there are like 7 of them that have to do with climate control and blower motors.
Save yourself some time and $$ and replace both the motor blower and resistor at the same time. My motor blower was working but the new resistor blew right away after being replaced. The motor blower may have been working but had other issues. I've had no other issues since replacing both...
I have to keep replacing my resistor quite frequently I can't change the settings on any of my dials or it'll burn out my resistor. The only way to make it work is to have it on full high for heat or full high for full cold. Any change in speed just kills it. The resistor plug melts. I will try changing the blower as well. Thanks great video
Excellent explanation! I have a strange problem with my car. Fan is running only intermittently. It is not turning on upon start of the car. However, while driving if I hit a road bump it starts and keeps running. Could this be a sign that the resistor/motor is dying or it is just a loose connection somewhere?

I had no fan at all in 2013 buick verano. Gained access to blower motor and found with a small spin by hand it would start working. So fan is on its way out, going to replace.
So we are restoring a 09 civic air and heat work fine, my ac on high is sub par to other vehicles I have driven. I just replaced the blower motor, cabin filter, and engine air filter. I was wondering if there was a way to increase the speed of the blower motor. Especially on these hot Florida days
They design with motor on cold side of car as leading to outside. This causes condensation in some as interior is hotter than outside air. Took out one after a freezing night and condensation all over metal parts of motor. Bearings rusted and too much resistance when turning it.
I've replaced the blower motor 4 times. Sometimes, it quits within 5 min, other times it goes a day or two. When I check it, it's shorted out. Full power on one side and full power comes out the other side. New resistor and controller. All wiring checked, has ground, signal wire working all the way to motor. When it's first connected, works in all speeds. Turn the truck off, start it back and shorted out. Multimeter on the wires show no jolts or anything. Power is cut when key is off and resumes when controller comes back on. Am I getting bad motors one after another? Like every motor is shorting out? I've been told some people go through 4 or 5 starters before they get a good one. Maybe the same for a two wire blower motor?
What if replacing the blower motor and resistor only lasts 2-4 months then have to be replaced again. What would cause that? About to replace my fourth set on a 2014 Dodge Durango Citadel.
Or is it just dirt filled up on the think and would you use like an an air cannon from a computer or something because after last Winter it it's worked terrific all on summer on AC and it's been working good on heat until now again
BUT if the AC works fine at all speeds, only the heat is lacking? Can't find anything informative enough on the net for a ford fusion 2012, this car is different from others behind the hood in the heater/AC hoses and wayy more difficult to reach the parts I need so I'd rather KNOW what to do before I start removing things & if I need to.
Only part missing is what make model and year the vehicle is that he's working on because this is going to determine the actual location of the blower motor resistor and blower motor. I have a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer and a different guy with the same company said that the blower motor resistor and blower motor is under the hood and this is why I hate Ford. Majority of these electrical parts should have a fuse attached to it to make it easier to replace instead of having to actually replace the actual part itself , I checked the fuses everything was fine there's no way to check relays according to the parts stores which is weird however I tapped on my blower motor under the hood. It came back on but it kept needing to be tapped on every other day and now it doesn't work at all I'm wondering if it's the blower motor or the blower motor resistor that needs to be replaced. One guy told me that I can connect my jumper cables to the battery and connect to other side to the blower motor I don't know how to do that I don't want to get shocked so one day I decided to tap on it. I got the idea from a starter sometimes you can tap on a starter to crank the vehicle
I've replaced my resistor, my relay, and 2 fuses on my 2001 dodge dakota. . . blower still not working. . .so I guess I should assume it's the blower motor that's not working. . .although it occasionally pops on every so often
my 06 buick works fine with ac and just fan. BUT the heating part does not blow well at all. At high speed I can hear it behind the dash blowing but little coming out of vents. Is this a broken or stuck door?
We just had record low temps and my sienna stayed out in the cold, and now won’t blow in the front of the vehicle, but works in the rear. Any chance the cold caused this, fuse or resistor maybe? Blower Motor is less than 2 years old and working fine before the cold snap.
I have also a reaistor module but I have another problem the ground wire to the blower motor starts to palitate but it gets slower as I turn the the speed knob up, it's that a faulty resistor too?
My blower motor sounds like it came loose in there. Clanking and banging all around. I wonder if the motor might be fine and I might just need to reattach the blade assembly. We'll see when I get around to ripping it out of there.
Hmmm. My 2006 Mercury Montego has AC and heat working, but when i turn if off the defrost turns on high. Only by turning car off will it turn off. Mechanic is replacing the resistor, hope his fixes it.
We have checked our fuses, replaced our blower motor, and replaced the resistor. It still isn't working. Everything tests with power going from the switch to the resistor, from the resistor to the blower motor yet it still won't work.
My Boxsters fan works intermittently. Sometimes, when it's working, there is a loud whine which changes pitch when the steering wheel is turned. (less current to the fan, I guess). Is it the fan/blower or something else? Ta.
Great vid 👍 Any idea's on why we get an electrical burning smell inside the car after a few minutes of turning on the heater - the blower speeds (1, 2, 3 and 4) seem to work fine?? It's a 2009 Corsa D 1.2 Any idea's please?
If the fan control switch on the dash works on setting 4 (highest) but not 1 through 3 in my 05 nissan sentra, is it likely the blower motor relay, the blower motor or combo thereof? I have to wait until Sat (today is Thurs) before I can check conductivity and multimeter so I'm trying to troubleshoot and get a jump on ordering parts. Thanks so much for the detailed and informative videos!!!!
In my kia rio, sometimes the blower motor works, and when the car is turned off and returns to drive it at another time, the blower does not work and after a few time it works on its own again In fact, I don't do what is the problem exactly? It’s the resistor or the blower
the truck i am working on heater comes on intermittently. what i mean is i turn the key on start the truck and fan works. next time i start truck fan does not come on.
Hi, Sir is it all blower are spin freely by using hand, or some of the blower may have a little bit hard to spin by hand or the blower is already jammed?
My blower keeps shutting off and wont turn back on until I pull the relay out and put it back in. Already replaced the relay and it works. So why does it just shut off?
My BMW F10 fan has a problem. When I turn the largest fan, the fan will run about 20 second and then stop. I need to turn off the fan , wait about 3 minutes and the fan will running again. I already changed the resistor but didn't fix. Do you have any suggestion? Thanks.
Mine was going out and one day I just smacked it the bottom cover and it turned on! Did that a few times and now this is the longest it's been out. Do you know which one it might be? Resistor?

What if the blower motor works? & why didn’t you test it?
It's the same as replacing both headlight bulbs or spark plugs.
He did, he tested the writing harness that goes to it, and the resistor input/output, if power is going either way, you know which part is faulty. Process of elimination, my man

What should I do, I my blower motor works but cool air does not coming out at all on the driver side?

Great explanation.
What if replacing the blower motor and resistor only lasts 2-4 months then have to be replaced again. What would cause that? About to replace my fourth set on a 2014 Dodge Durango Citadel.
Blower motors can just need lubing, over time they just get a little rust, drop a bit of oil down the shaft of the motor and let it work in.
Or is it just dirt filled up on the think and would you use like an an air cannon from a computer or something because after last Winter it it's worked terrific all on summer on AC and it's been working good on heat until now again
Mine literally just stopped on a road trip to work. 🙃 now I get to play in the cold and hope I figure it out here😑

my 06 buick works fine with ac and just fan. BUT the heating part does not blow well at all. At high speed I can hear it behind the dash blowing but little coming out of vents. Is this a broken or stuck door?

Ta.
Q2 number if no signal from the switch to the resistor what problem causes and what fix?
Hello so i have nothing coming out of vents until i bang it it then comes on working fine what can it be resistor or motor thanks
Great vid 👍
Any idea's on why we get an electrical burning smell inside the car after a few minutes of turning on the heater - the blower speeds (1, 2, 3 and 4) seem to work fine??
It's a 2009 Corsa D 1.2
Any idea's please?
If the fan control switch on the dash works on setting 4 (highest) but not 1 through 3 in my 05 nissan sentra, is it likely the blower motor relay, the blower motor or combo thereof? I have to wait until Sat (today is Thurs) before I can check conductivity and multimeter so I'm trying to troubleshoot and get a jump on ordering parts. Thanks so much for the detailed and informative videos!!!!
thanks
In my kia rio, sometimes the blower motor works, and when the car is turned off and returns to drive it at another time, the blower does not work and after a few time it works on its own again
In fact, I don't do what is the problem exactly?
Resistor?
