The problem with Frog song is that each Frog is sing one after and over one and the other during the jest pf the song/or the one lil frog echoing Wart/Mamu in a higher pitch of him as the other lil frog echoing the previous lil frog into a higher pitch awhile Wart/Mamu is still going. Which in general makes it chaos to focusing what part the song should the user listen to which is likely why there's so many complaints of the song on a spectrum on the parts of the singing or the singers being bad. If they all sync up together and sing then the song be more clearer but it's just musical chaos, which there's no hate for it be just that.
this is oddly nostalgic for me cos my original gameboy cartridge of this game was in German, and I'm not German, so that was a whole additional challenge to beating this game for me
oh man.. I forgot that I had this on Gameboy! I never made it past the early temple where you need the Chain-chomp to eat the flowers in front of the cave that are blocking your path. Then I got stuck on a bunch of other stuff. I thought it was a super hard game until I played the remake.. turns out it's _really_ easy, even for a Zelda game 😂
@@lucid_sfc hahahah aww, if only you guys had been pen pals or something, you could have swapped! (although I'm willing to bet you know a lot more English than he knows German... on account of you, well, speaking English right now lol)
Love commentary on runs like this, I think I've watched just about every commentated speedrun & TAS on UA-cam, I can't get enough 😂 Anyway, great work dude!
I keep falling asleep to this video (or i should say using this video to cure my insomnia) and its making me want to buy links awakening and play it for the first time. Really wondering if id like it hmmm. Thank you for this video, ive really been enjoying watching it in bits and pieces every night lol
Wow - great run. The commentary was great - highly enjoyed the explanations of both the run and your experience while doing it. Very cool. Thanks much!
Thanks so much! I appreciate the kind words. Unfortunately, I won't be able to apply to this coming SGDQ. However, I am definitely planning on submitting this game to next year's AGDQ!
Terran (sp?) looks like he belongs in the Other world in Coraline. (Now I wish there was a Coraline based game ha ha!) Your commentary and play is excellent! I'm really enjoying this.
Great run! I use speedruns to settle down before going to bed, and your great soothing commentary with such a chill, fun run is perfect Best wishes to you :D
At around 8:15 you steal the bow, and don't go back in to gameover. Later at 21:20 you revisit to purchase from the shop and have to watch the death cutscene, but you have two more heart containers. Don't you lose some time by not watching the death cutscene earlier when you only have 3 heart containers? Probably not a lot but every bit helps, right?
I appreciate this comment! I actually never thought of that, but I do still think it's slower. If you'll notice when I die the second time, although I have more hearts I respawn inside the shop. If I were to suicide with the intent of coming back later, it would probably be a slightly quicker death animation but it would also include extra time from re-entering and leaving the shop. I may actually try timing this because it might be close and you could be right! Thank you :)
1:55:20 I accidentally got a Hinox Warp in Dampé's Dungeon Builder around when I first played the game. Still have the clip on my switch. EDIT: 2:31:09
Oh, for the thing where you could use rooster to skip face key, did you mean you can get to the stairs going down in the rapids? That's pretty cool. I didn't think you actually needed to beat Facade to unlock the rooster, I thought you just needed the upgraded strength bracelet to push the weathervane thing, but either way it's the same because you still need to get into the dungeon via the front entrance. Also it's interesting what you said about how you don't think the dungeon keys should be required (but how they are because they appear permanently in your inventory). I was expecting you to have to grab the owl's beak, compass and map in every dungeon, since those show up permanently on your map screen when you're in the dungeon. But based on the way you explained it, I also expected you to be able to skip getting all the Mario enemy figures from the trendy game, since those are gained and lost from your inventory as you place them in the display slots. Personally, when I did a "100%" casual playthrough recently I required myself to open every single chest in each dungeon (which required intentional damage to use up medicine lol) because that's something that's permanently saved in your file as "progress." So I guess I'm just trying to say it's always subjective.
You can’t skip Face Key with the rooster, since you need Face Key to get the rooster UNLESS you do an air climb without the rooster. Which is a semi-recent discovery that was found after this run was done. I will be doing an updated run with a new route soon, but it’s pretty complicated to route in being able to do airclimbs from the beginning of the came. If you check my channel for the D6 Backdoor tutorial, or the Any% run on my channel and poke around, you can see what I mean. And yeah, 100% categories in speedruns often come down to preference and what the community prefers. There are a number of changes I might have made if I were around when the category was being created, but as someone who was five months late to the party I pretty much have to go with what was already there. Not to say that the rules are bad or anything, I actually think they’re quite good and this is definitely my favorite category and favorite speedrun. Like you said it will always just be subjective :) I’m glad you had so many thoughts on the run. I love talking about it and it motivates me to do some more runs. (Also as a post note I did consider running an All Chests category that includes all dungeon chests and all over world chests xP)
@@TheLimeFilms ALL THE CHESTS, I NEED ALL OF THEM!! Also that's neat, thanks for the update. Can't wait for all the routes to become absolute nuts airclimbing everywhere
@@TheLimeFilms Just finished, I'd say my intuition was reasonable :)) Great run, congrats on the record! But something tells me you're not quite done pushing your time down yet...
it's a pretty precise jump! with some practice it's no problem, but I've definitely had bad streaks where I've failed it over and over. good on you for figuring out it was worth a try though! that's super cool
I'm personally blown away by the fact that the Li'l Devil in the Mysterious Forest can upgrade your arrow capacity instead of your magic powder. I thought you had to make it to the one in the western mountains before you could get arrows. Does it just depend on what order you do them in?
You can choose any option from the get-go! You just have to say No to whichever he’s offering until you get to what you want. I think the order is Powder -> Bombs -> Arrows. It can be a bit tricky and I actually make sure to slow down a bit because if you upgrade powder on accident, then your run can lose a lot of time
@@TheLimeFilms Yeah I always said yes (because there was no indication that I'd be able to choose another, it looked like just a "cancel" option) and must have always visited them in the order you can unlock them in, so I thought powder was always the guy in the forest, bombs was always the guy near the bay, and arrows was always the guy in the mountains. I was like "oh soon I'll be able to upgrade my bombs/arrows finally, that'll be so nice" lol
Yeah! There are a ton of crazy glitches. I think it’s actually a pretty perfect glitch density. We don’t skip over the whole game, but we do have major skips in pretty much every dungeon (especially in Any%).
As far as I know, it’s still faster to do it later because if you do it earlier then you are adding in two extra loads from entering and leaving the shop. I think when I come back to this category I will time that though, because it’s definitely close

Amazing run and commentary and nice princess peach picture haha !!
It kinda amazes me how the 3d nature of this title is used in this run. Running on treetops and fences to get around obstacles.
That's definitely one of my favorite aspects! We abuse the 3D geometry a ton and it's always super fun

YES DIUDE
Would going back in to the shop right after you steal the bow save time because then you don’t have as many heart containers
It would end up not saving time because by doing this you’re adding two extra loading zones for entering and leaving when there’s nothing to buy
@@TheLimeFilms I never thought about it that way. Thank you for the response.
