Let’s remember Charles was in his 30s and Diana was only 19 when he courted her. Give her some grace and compassion.

@-ag. Where was Diana's grace and compassion for the royal family that gave her everything she ever wanted? Becoming a princess was thee most important to Diana. When Diana was just dating Charles she was into the Balmoral scene and hiking and fishing but after they married she refused to be in on anything. No one forced "this poor sacrificial lamb" into marrying Charles!

No one "gave" Diana "everything" she wanted.
All Diana needed was love and understanding, not a horde of material gifts and a big palace.
I also think Diana wanted to continue working with children as well.

This is a movie. I will not judge a woman I never knew or met. I have no idea what she went through or what her frame of mind was. She is not longer here to defend herself, to give her side of the story. I pray peace and healing for her family, especially her sons.

*There was no way that the Crown was going to allow her to take the future king of UK overseas to live!*
I blame Charles for allowing his family to push him into the marriage. But I am sure that Diana's father and grandmother were pushing
her to go ahead with the marriage. But being very young, I don't think that she was able to resist. She had no career, etc.

Good, glad you see it. In actuality, there really was no proof that Diana truly was planning to take her sons overseas to live.
In real life...unlike tabloid claims and film and telly portrayals...Diana was wise enough to understand that her sons had lives and a community in the UK and that they'd had enough upheaval in their lives.
Legal standpoint aside, she was a wise enough mum to not try to force more upheaval in her sons' lives by uprooting them and forcing them to move to a new country where they didn't know anyone and possibly didn't understand the language.

True, most of the upheaval was a result of Charles and Diana's arguments.
Glad you see that Diana was not stupid.
But I say she had some wisdom.
And as I stated...in real life...contrary to what the television series implies...Diana was _NOT_ planning to take her sons overseas to live.
Even after she and Charles divorced, she remained in the UK, especially since both of her sons were in boarding school.
She was _NOT_ about to yank them out of their schools to take them to another country.

She wouldn't have looked at Charles twice if he was a butcher or a baker or a candle stick maker. Not everything can be blamed on Camilla and Charles infidelity. Not everything can be blamed on Diana's youth, either.

@@rebeccachambers419 Diana didn't try to destroy the monarchy. As she said, it was her sons' future. She transformed the monarchy by adding humanity and compassion to a cold, ancient institution. Of course she was angry. She had been betrayed. But all she wanted to do was tell her side of the story, her truth. No one can deny her that.
