Whoever is saying she did a mistake will never understand what it feels like to not been heard or understood and how much relief your chest feels to tell your side of the story.
Supposedly it was done on a Sunday, for like 7-9 hours. Because she would stop the tape, and go over the questions and have her answer-to sound polished. Also none of her staff were present.
The actress brings diana to life. None of us knew how unhappy she was. It's a great burden to carry. I was miserable for 16 years until the divorce. But it took many years to see it as better for me.
Whatever we may think of her, one must concede that Diana was far more intelligent than _anyone_ gave her credit for. Her attention to detail and her ability to use detail to send messages and tell a story were uncanny. I'm not sure any royal alive today could come close - not even Catherine.
Disagree. I think she was incredibly stupid for this. It was a cowardly move, and I think it opened William’s eyes to his mother’s not so nice side. What she did then, is what Harry and his wife did now. Both instances hurt him and the family. Deserved or not is I’m sure personal opinion depending on who you ask.
YES; TO TELL HER STORY ! SHE MANAGED TO BE REMEMBERED AS THE INNOCENT; FAITHFUL WIFE; WHICH SHE WASN´T AT ALL. SHE WAS A MEAN SCHEMER; WHICH HAS RUINED CHARLES AND CAMILLAS REPUTATION ! CHARLES SHOULD HAVE CLEARED THE TABLE; LATEST AT THE DIVORCE; AS SHE WAS THE ADULTERER MULTIPLE TIMES; INSTEAD OF TAKING EVERYTHING ON HIS SHOULDERS AND EVEN MORE SO ON CAMILLA´S ; SHE HAD TO GO THROUGH HELL FOR DECADES AND STILL IS BLAMED AS THE MISTRESS WHO RUINED THIS HAPPY FAMILY; WHICH NEVER EXISTED!
I love Diana and still do to this day but She should have never done that interview. One of the biggest mistakes she did. The black eye liner was a bit heavy handed tho. I get she did it to get her freedom and needed a voice.
To be fair I don't think the RF will ever be rocked like this again. Because of her there's way more rules and staff to help ensure this doesn't happen again.
@@gabriellewarburton7961 The only thing worse was the abdication of Edward VIII. The queen knew about The Duke of Windsor's collusion with the Nazis, shortly after WW2 ended. The rest of us did not find out about his and Wallis' collusion until the very end of the 20th century.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. This was Diana’s revenge on the Royal family for 15 years of feeling scorned. This interview sent shockwaves around the entire world; I was living in Japan and people watched it and were talking about it there. At the time I was sympathetic to Diana’s position but even so I was aghast that she had actually gone behind the palace’s back to do this. She had given her butler Paul Burrell the day off and sent him out so he couldn’t prevent her from doing it. I think her elation at her “victory“ was very short-lived and by the time Burrell had returned to Kensington Palace, saw she had rearranged all of the sitting room furniture and asked “what have you done?”- Sellers remorse had already set in. If she had not given this interview, I think that she would have continued perks of her royal life, separated from Charles but still married, and had she been able to bide her time, she would most likely be queen today, having lived to see her children grow up and her grandchildren. After this interview, the queen commanded that Charles and Diana divorce, and Diana were stripped of her HRH title and she also lost her royal protection detail. She would only survive her divorce by one year because of the reckless choices she made. I know Charles’s infidelity hurt but Diana sealed her fate by so publicly betraying the family. May God rest her soul, but when I see this video footage now, I don’t see a vulnerable, heartbroken woman…I see a vindictive harpy hellbent on settling scores. It’s very manipulative.

Charles pledged his allegiance to her at the altar, before God and the country all the while knowing he was going to continue screwing Camilla. They expected her to be a good sweet unassuming wife and a good mother. They certainly didn't count on her frail mental health.
