and a slightly pretentious thing but that ending with hunter continuing his desire for a more peaceful future really invoked dick winters in band brothers after the invasion of normandy making a promise to himself to live a life of peace for me. i also want one of those big cats as a mount in swtor like yesterday.

Seeing Gungi huddled in the back of the ship is so heartbreaking. Can only imagine what he went through. While this was a good episode, it just had an overwhelming feeling of sadness to it, with Gungi alone, and what the Empire is doing to Kashyyyk.
At least Gungi is back home and can rediscover purpose in his life to become a hero for his people.

There are DOZENS of references to that "Zeffo" shape of WarDroid across SWTOR. Mostly associated with higher tier Hutt worlds and hideouts. Hutts trace back Semi-ancient too.
Gungi only knows Kashhyyk from dreams, he was taken as an infant per standard Jedi policy. The burned village they went to was a village the Clones knew, not Gungi.

"They're just kids. But they don't get to be. Not in this galaxy."
That hit hard, props to whoever gave Hunter that line. I think we're so used to seeing the kid characters in Star Wars as part of the action and we forget that they're kids whose entire existence has been defined by war and conflict. It reminded me of the end of TCW s7 when Ahsoka told Rex being a soldier was all she knew and how in _Rebels_ Thrawn said of Hera, "War is all you've known, isn't it?" None of the kids from the TCW era onward have or have had a normal childhood because of war. Even the Skywalker twins weren't spared that. It's really kind of sobering to think about, especially given how relevant that quote is to what real kids have had to deal with in recent years being surrounded by so much violence, conflict, and/or trauma. There's no easy answer for how to navigate that irl just like there isn't in the show. Hunter's right about the kids needing to be kids, but so is Echo about needing to help more people. There's no clear-cut solution to the situation they're in, and I'm glad the show kind of acknowledged that gray area

Alright, it's official: I want Gungi to survive to see the time of The New Republic, and be a significant Force-user/Jedi in The Mandoverse. I can picture a 41-year-old Omega venturing to Kashyyyk, to find her old friend, and using her understandings of the planet to communicate with it on both a physical and metaphysical level. I hope We see those new cat-like creatures (have they been given a species name?) in live-action. I'm picturing the same tech/costuming used in those Dinosaur shows (and TV pranks) being employed to bring these creatures to life. Thank you, Master Katarn and Mr. Bendu.

This episode *technically* counts as the first appearance of Kashyyyk in the Clone Wars animation style, unless you want to count the scrapped arc that would have involved the Bad Batch on Kashyyyk in TCW that we only ever got an unfinished story reel of, but this episode clearly took some elements of like the kinraths and I believe the lead Trandoshan was also one of the villains originally planned for that story.

    • @anthonyyoutubefan7567
      @anthonyyoutubefan7567 Рік тому +8

It's also worth noting that Wrecker stating, "It's been a while since we've been to Kashyyyk...", basically canonizes that unfinished, scrapped story/chapter from TCW. I actually want, over time, a couple of episodes of TBB that are flashback episodes, told by members of Clone Force 99, regaling Omega and others of their exploits during The Clone Wars, while they are stuck in a boring situation (traveling through Hyperspace for a couple of hours?), or waiting before a smuggling transaction, or in a holding pattern, before an event occurs.

I like the idea of the ancient civilization of last episode going unnamed, could be zeffo or not. One thing I've always liked about star wars is that it really feels like a galaxy where you are watching one of the stories happening, but there are countless others that we as the viewers don't interact with. The world seems so full and lived in. It feels like this stories are happening regardless of we the viewers knowing about them.

Love these reactions! I didn't even notice Gungi's fur was styled like a Tunic, that's an amazing detail. This episode was my favourite so far. It rocked! This episode was a lot of fun.
Seeing Gungi was awesome and it was great getting to see what happened to him after the Clone Wars. Even though we knew he was coming, his appearance was no less exciting. I gasped when I realised Omega heard a Wookiee in that hanger. Seeing Omega and Gungi bond and fight side by side was incredible and one of the best parts of the episode. Gungi using the Force to take back his lightsaber was a moment that had my fist PUMPING! Again, even though we saw it in the trailers, it did not diminish seeing it play out.
I do like they took some time to address Gungi's understandable mistrust of clones. That's always something I enjoy seeing in stories where Jedi meet clones again after Order 66 like Kanan with Rex in Rebels. I liked when Gungi growled at Echo, the one who most resembles the regular clones, that was a nice little detail before Omega calmed him down. I feel like it was easier to resolve because Gungi probably didn't have much interaction with the clones. He wasn't a Padawan in the field like Ahsoka was, he spent most of the war in the Jedi Temple.
I like that this episode seemed to take a lot of cues from the unfinished arc of TCW that would have had the Batch go to Kashyyyk and adapted them for the Imperial era, substituting the Separatists for the Empire as the Trandoshan's backing force. That's something Star Wars does a lot, recycling ideas that never got used so that they get their moments to shine in shows now and I love it when they do that. And as a massive KOTOR fan, seeing kinrath on Kashyyk was awesome but I can't lie when I saw the webbing, I had a mini heart attack because I thought the spiders from Jedi Fallen Order were about to pop out lol!
That arc also would have seen the Batch working with Yoda, which I admit I would have liked to see. Just the reactions of each of the Batch would have been so entertaining but I guess Gungi could be seen as Yoda's stand in, a Jedi with a spiritual connection to Kashyyyk and Wookiee culture. And the Trandoshan commander being taken off was brutal but also so fitting. It was so cool to watch the fight between him and Gungi, how Gungi disarmed him before the kinrath came in and how Gungi turned off his weapon and how they reacted to him. It was all spectacular stuff. I also found Gungi's reaction very interesting. It felt like he was in between being a Jedi and being a Wookiee, letting the planet exact its own justice on those who would ruin it. I can't help but think of that scene in Batman Begins, "I won't kill you... but I don't have to save you either"
Wrecker (and eventually Echo) bonding with the Wookiees was amazing. I loved him roaring like a Wookiee and just having a blast. As soon as I saw the Wookiees eating, I thought "Oh Wrecker's gonna love these guys"
I would have liked to learn what happened to the other Padawans like Katooni. The last we saw of Gungi before this episode was in S5 of TCW where they were all training with Tera Sinube so they were probably all together when Order 66 went down. Hopefully their fates will be revealed in future stories.

Gungi's return to Kashyyyk has the potential to set up a series or mini-series in the vein of the movie "Avatar": a resistance force of nature-tuned natives motivated by a unique warrior fighting against a planet-stripping technology power all taking place on a planet absolutely rich with fauna and flora diversity and having a centralized, Gaia-like intelligence overseeing the nature of the planet. The only problem I see is the language barrier between the viewers and the Wookie characters. Having an interpretive character or two around to interpret everything for the viewers might be seen by some as a dragging anchor to the flow of the narrative.

Even though this may have been another "side story" I think the seeds of this season's overarching story were planted here. Specifically, who was the "buyer" the smuggler droids were selling Gungi to? My guess it was a representative of Palpatine and/or Dr. Pershing since we know they are experimenting with Jedi/ Midchlorians which of course leads to the end of the sequel trilogy.

13:38-13:46 Relax Kyle, I played Fallen Order just recently, and all you have to do is parry one of their attacks (Where they extend their legs out like they're going to hug you, but really they're trying to attack you), then press X (On a PS4, at least), and you one-shot those things no problem. If you play with a double-bladed saber, that is. Not sure if it works with single-blade, but I'll bet it does.
If it's because they're just scary, well, the spiders from The Mandalorian S2E2 (The Passenger) looked scarier to me. The Wyshokks from Jedi: Fallen Order don't even move like actual spiders to me, and this is coming from a guy with arachnophobia (Fear of Spiders). If I see a Tarantula, Black Widow, heck, any type of spider, I'd run like a Cheetah, and get a flamethrower! They are super freaky creatures! 8 legged demons from their webs of Hell!
Anyway, about the game. You can see when they shoot their web attacks a few seconds early, then press Circle (Again, PS4 controls) to not end up bound in their webs. They're not so hard to defeat, especially when you got so many amps, and power-ups by that point in the game. I played on Easy difficulty, though, so my views may be quite skewered (It was my first time playing the game, and I was trying to get a sense of how it worked).

I have mixed feelings about this episode.
I enjoyed it and I am happy to see Gungi (I do not want to think about if those rations were the first real meal he was free to eat his fill of since Order 66) but I wish they would have made it more clear that although Gungi is a Wookiee, he is a Jedi first. They were his family, his tribe. The Temple on Coruscant was the only home he ever knew. His birth family probably threw a festival when the Jedi showed up.
I think it comes from the fact that not too many people who work on Star Wars really believe in Adoption the way George Lucas did.
Also Gungi is probably going to stop being a Jedi. With one fewer Jedi, either by death or resignation, Palpatine wins one more time. It’s the same reason I am not thrilled about where Grogu’s story is going.
It’s funny, if the Batch was working with Rex, they could have gotten Gungi to Ahsoka or even Yoda which would have made things better for everyone and everything. But if they worked with Rex, they wouldn’t have found Gungi.
Another thing: since Omega seems very focused on Gungi when he uses The Force, the possibility that she is Force Sensitive is coming up again. I actually am more comfortable about that now than I was during the first season.

I liked episodes 4 and 5, but they did feel like filler. Episode 6 on the other hand was incredible!

you and nearly every youtube reactor mis-pronounce Gungi's name, it's pronounced Guhn-JEE ( jee like Jeep). It was an excellent episode

He says that after Hunter says the name, but he says he's going to keep pronouncing it the way he does.

This is proof positive its a kiddie show. If i were to write this. Gungi would be in a panicked rage at the sight of an approaching clone. I would have him immediately go ham on Echo. Even an unarmed adolescent Wookie is lethal to a grown man. As the others show up to aid Echo, Gungi uses the Force on Hunter. Omega talks him down and the episode continues from there. I wounder if there is a no killing quota in this show. Smuggling Droids? Well we cant have a bunch of human getting reduced into a pile of parts now can we? Gungi doesn't use his lightsaber on any of the clones or Trando's but Blasters are cool. I can forgive Rebels for this since it was on XD but here this is dumb.

Why would he expose himself as a Jedi even more than he already has? Plus hes a Jedi, he wouldnt immidiatly kill someone on sight like that and rip them apart like a wild beast, plus barely any of the bad batch members look like a clone except Hunter and Echo, and he would most likely trust him since they all 1st. rescued him, 2nd. didnt even try attacking him on their ship, not even pulling a blaster on him.

@@holidaypunch6621 As far as he knows he’s already exposed. He was taken by smugglers and the next thing he sees is clone troopers. What conclusion would you make?
