And Gungi looks like he became a padawan by the end of Order 66. That could mean he split up with the younglings. I still hope they survived as future Jedi found by Luke.
On the subject of Wookiee pelts - A pelt is generally the skin and fur of an animal, and the Trandoshans cruelly hunt the Wookiees for sport and take their pelts as trophies. You may recall an episode of The Clone Wars where Ahsoka is trapped in a jungle world with some Wookiees and hunted by trandoshans. You're right that as a verb "to pelt" can mean "to hit something" though.
10:25 Yes, to pelt means to hit something. It can also mean a patch of fur from an animal. A Wookie pelt means skinned Wookie fur. Highly valuable in Trandosian culture, seeing how difficult it is to kill a wookie.
Wookiees were slaves during the imperial era, many died in the construction of the death star, they were hunted down and systematically eliminated, which is why their value was high, and if we add to that that he is a jedai, that makes him a target for house bounties as well. Trandosians and Wookiees have always been enemies, the former hunt the latter and use the skins as currency
Trandoshans are hunters (to the point their religion revolves around the hunt) and their greatest rivals are the Wookiees. Kashyyyk and Trandosha are located in the same star system. As for the carved stones, all I could find was that their sacred to the Wookiees.
A pelt is an animal skin with the fur still attached. 😬 Sorry. I noticed that the armorer in Mandalorian might be wearing one across her shoulders. More than a bit disturbing.
I fanboyed so hard when i saw this episode, the inclusion of the Kinrath spiders put us all one step closer to Knights of The Old Republic being canon!
A pelt is furred skin, trandoshans are not subtle about their treatment of wookiees. I'm glad they had the kinrath (spider things) in this episode, I first saw them in the Knights of the Old Republic (2003) game when going to Kashyyyk so was nice them keeping more stuff consistent with the EU, thanks Dave!
It is quite important that Gungi decided to stay on Kashyk. I don't believe the Empire wouldn't try to find him again. Someone would have to help him. There are 2 candidates: As we know from the Kenobi, Quinlan Vos survived. He was on this planet during Order 66. Then he helped save the younglings. The second candidate is Luminara who was also on this planet but was not so lucky. We know she was killed by the Grand Inquisitor, but there is no direct confirmation that she was taken prisoner during Order 66. She may have sacrificed herself for Gungi.
There's also the possibility that Gungi chose a life path that removed him from candidacy for confronting the Emperor. Star Wars went for years with the statements between the ghost Kenobi and Yoda that Luke and Leia were the last hope. This was understood at the time to mean that, besides Yoda, they were the only Jedi alive. It's been trying the last decade and a half to find every loophole in those statements.
The bad guys are talking about the Wookies if they were wild animals and making pelts out of them basically needs to use them like a fur coat or rug. It is pretty barbaric to use a creature for its fur
No. A pelt means that the fur of the Wookiee. Chances are the slavers skin them. It’s like what Cruella De Vil wanted to do to the Dalmatians in 101 Dalmatians 1-2, the live action 101 Dalmatians, and 102 Dalmatians.
I am very glad you are reviewing this. All the other people who I watch reacting to The Bad Batch knew that Gungi was going to be in this series and so they weren't surprised at all. I try and not think about how long it might have been since Gungi had a full and proper meal since Order 66. He is the victim of a genocide after all. Wookiees are rare in the Jedi Order but they and the Togruta LOVE the Jedi. I imagine they throw a festival when a child is found to be Force Sensitive. Yes, children are taken very young to the Jedi Temples to be trained. They need to get a proper start to their ethics because they are people who can kill with a thought. According to Lucas: “The fact that everything must change and that things come and go through (Anakin's) life and that he can’t hold onto things, which is a basic Jedi philosophy that he isn’t willing to accept emotionally and the reason that is because he was raised by his mother rather than the Jedi. If he’d have been taken in his first year and started to study to be a Jedi, he wouldn’t have this particular connection as strong as it is and he’d have been trained to love people but not to become attached to them.” (George Lucas, Attack of the Clones commentary) Also, the extended material doesn't go into details much because it is a children's series...but even at their height, the Jedi couldn't be everywhere and protect every Force-Sensitive child. The general answer to what happens if the Jedi don't find them and help them is: nothing good. Yoda finds one small boy who was kept in an animal cage by pirates, Mace Windu found Depa Billaba and her sister in much the same way, Obi-Wan and a friend of his are nearly sold into slavery when they were younger than Gungi, a Padawan was captured and put up for auction in one of his comics. And there was that Clone Wars episode where Sidious and Cad Bane stole babies. Eeth Koth's daughter...when I don't want to sleep, I think about what probably happened to her. That doesn't happen to all of them of course. A lot go insane or are treated as if they are. That happened to the main character in the Force Collector book. His Psychometric abilities are treated like a mix of Epilepsy and schizophrenia and are handled like they were in our Dark Ages. And Partially Trained or Poorly trained Force Sensitives are a real danger to themselves and others. They can kill a man with a thought after all.
While I do like the episode overall, the moment where Omega says "Stop, you're hurting him" has to be one of the worst moments in the show. Thankfully, the rest of the episode and the show has come nowhere close to that. Kashyyk made up for the overall weak beginning
As cool as it is, Gungi being alone and separated from the other Younglings he’s associated with implies they perished in Order 66 😢
Not 100% it could also mean they just got seperated, I believe this is still only a year or after order 66
And Gungi looks like he became a padawan by the end of Order 66. That could mean he split up with the younglings. I still hope they survived as future Jedi found by Luke.

Well one specific wookiee
Not gonna lie, I'm proud of you for remembering Gungi! I love this episode :)

Out of all things that happen in the SW universe, that's your concern?
I thought that at first but it looks too fluffy to be Wookiee
Even Boba Fett had some wookiee fur on his armour in the original films (described as braided wookie scalps in the first visual dictionary).
@@timidwolf boba worn it for status and to show how capable he is, I’m not excusing it just saying the reason as to why he worn it

I couldn't quite tell, but as soon as I saw the wood hilted lightsaber, I realized it was Gungi immediately. I was so damn glad to see him again.
I love watching you get so excited, so cute
I was wanting the same thing for Gungi to join the crew I wish he was in every bad batch episode
Most significant Trandoshan you have met so far... Cid.... The one the Bad Batch works for...
4:49 This is probably the one Ahsoka took to get their stone to create their Lightsaber.
We can always make room for a wanton Wookie...
Yes this is gungi from the clone wars series.
This is that baby, Gungi!!
A pelt is furred skin, trandoshans are not subtle about their treatment of wookiees.

I thought it was confirmed she was captured
@@jacktheflash8478 It was confirmed that they had her body. When they got it is a different matter.
5:26 Kawasaki analysis!
Oh yeah this is a really really good one this is one of my more favorite ones out of all the bad batch
Yes yes you know who it is in the Clone Wars they got their lightsaber crystals with Yoda and then they ended up having to save Ahsoka Tano
Since you enjoy Jedi Fallen Order, you should play Knights of the Old Republic. It’s such an amazing game, and you get to spend time on Kashyyyk.
This is one of my favorite Episode of bad batch season 2 so happy you're watching it Emme
The bad guys are talking about the Wookies if they were wild animals and making pelts out of them basically needs to use them like a fur coat or rug. It is pretty barbaric to use a creature for its fur
Wookie pelt would mean to kill them and sell their skin+fur to someone. So 100 wookie pelt prize is very baaaad.

where's my kotor massive recognising the Kinrath
Thanks, Emme! 🛖 Good to see 'Gungi' again, right? #EmmeReacts #StarWars #TheBadBatch
why do you put quotes around names?
Because they're character names... not real people. It's just something I do.
@@auntvesuvi3872 okay
0:31 You got the vibe right though, Emme.
6:49 Those are not the only giant spider creatures on the planet either. There are ones are even more horrifying. You remember from the game. Yuck.
Charlie Sheen I think Hunter looks like the actor Charlie Sheen
You have to see Indiana Jones!
Wookie pelts = wookie furs or skins
Are you putting the fallen order and lego star wars content on UA-cam
