Star Wars Rebels is a children's programme. Yet I hate it too, I really want to see Clone Wars finished more than everything. Obviously when the characters are in a cave or when it’s night time things are going to be dark. But when it’s so dark that you can’t even see what’s going on it becomes a problem would of thought an episode about going deep under the cities into old cave systems that are underground and have been abandoned for years would be dark this episode The lighting in the room I was watching it in is pretty bright so in combination with the dark scenes, I did have some trouble telling what was going on. With that said, it wasn't enough of an issue for me where I felt it detracted from the important scenes where the characters had about as much line of sight in a destroyed old mine as we did. I actually thought the set pieces were particularly cool in this episode. My tv is set to normal settings it's funny because I watched this episode and was thinking to myself "i'm glad the lighting isn't making this unwatchable like some of the darker scenes in Kenobi and BOBF" and then this guy says this. soooo much better than some of those BOBF scenes which are almost pitch black in comparison The only time it was hard to see things was in the water but thats a given the rest was pretty great and the story was great it just shouldn’t have ended how it did needed a few extra scenes + that robot worm grievous blood sucker thing was cool i hope that gets explained more I think in comparison to the fight in kenobi this episode was good, action scenes were always lit well enough to tell what was happening in them the only situation I’m thinking of BECAUSE of this is when din gets captured and for a second I couldn’t figure out what happened exactly, compared to the near pitch blackness in kenobi’s big fight this episode is great.
Crosshair has been and forever will be my fave member of Clone force 99, the voice acting was immaculate when he dragged Mayday back… love every moment he’s on screen and this is my fave moment.

@@clankers8929 Oh 100% I think that makes his character arc all the more interesting right? Personally I kind of like the hardcore clones a little more than the others just because it’s more interesting imo but that’s just me

Fans just don't try to understand his character most of the time & I don't know why. Plus, he's a sniper. Hellooo. Don't hate on our Crosshair, please.
Just a note, Mayday pushed Crosshair and not the other way around. Presumably to prevent him from hitting the rock like he did.
Crosshair used to only care about his brothers in the Batch, but now that he's alone and clones are more scarce by the day, he's seeing the regs as his brothers too. Good job, Crosshair, expand that empathy.
When Crosshair shot the lieutenant the rock formation behind him looked like vultures wings similar to the shadows of the ice vultures. Vultures are commonly known as symbols of death, but they can also be a symbol of rebirth. “As a creature of the air, Vulture may come into your awareness as a messenger that you need to get a different perspective on things.”
Crosshair has been my favorite Bad Batcher from day 1 and I’m so glad he’s getting his redemption arc. I agree it would be incredibly tragic if he made this turning point and then was conditioned against his will to go after Omega. My guess is the Empire will get Omega to Tantiss somehow and Crosshair will help save her. I hope he gets some kind of happy reunion with the Batch 😔
That's an excellent analysis! I too hope Crosshair manages to get redemption and I think it will come in the form of a tragic sacrifice. I think he will be the reason Omega survives in the end :(
Thank You Friend! Me too. Love our Cross, he's always been a standout, against the grain, obstinate character, it's why I love him so. Different. And at this point, has earned a pass. He did most of his horrid acts pre chip removal. So there's always that. Yes he did waste the governor of Desix, to my dismay. But he has also saved lives, Omega, Cody & tried with our beloved Mayday. *#SAVECROSSHAIR**.*
Crosshair's redemption is definitely going to feel the most rewarding out of any we've had in Star Wars. Even if he ends up dying soon after like everyone tends to, he'll still have worked for it more than any other character who's been "redeemed" so far. I'm so glad they're taking it in this direction, having him make his choice on a situation that won't immediately get him killed so now he can keep working for it. He can have a true redemption instead of taking the first few steps then dying and calling it a redemption arc. (Nothing against ones like Vader's or Kylo's, those still felt pretty good to watch, but with Crosshait actually having time to fully redeem himself, it's gonna be so good. And him having his chip out is such a good move because now many of the choices that he's redeeming himself of were done under his own will and control and now it is his own choice, his own mind that he has changed in order to do this)
Crosshair is like the Mara Jade of this show. Someone who was so unflinchingly loyal to the Empire because they couldn't let go of their old identity/way of life, until the revelation that they were nothing but a human weapon/pawn broke the spell and ended up with them in the bowels of Mt. Tantiss (albeit for different reasons lol)
I think Crosshair took to Mayday so much because he reminded him of Hunter, their attitudes are pretty similar
I loved Mayday's borderline insubordination, hardened by the mistreatment of his squad.
That's why he's one of the absolute *best* Clones. He stood up for himself, Veech & Hex. He didn't just stay silent & he didn't let the lieutenant have the last word. Even Rex wouldn't have acted this way towards a *"superior."* This is why Mayday stands out & why he's now beloved by fans. At least we got him for an entire episode, not just for 5 minutes.
The anger in crosshairs voice saying that he could have been saved. So chilling.
So sad. For Mayday & for Crosshair. I knew it would be something severe that would bring Cross back from the brink. Losing a newly made friend was the last he could take.
I already love Kevin kiner as a composer for animated Star Wars but he out did himself with the score of this episode

Best episode of the show, period. When Crosshair lifted up Mayday to carry him, it broke me. All this time, from Clone Wars, he's been saying he'll leave behind his brothers; but in Mayday he saw himself, a grumpy but pragmatic clone hero, who followed orders, and instead of dying like the hero he was, froze to death for a regime that doesn't care and classed him as an expendable obsolete item.
Then when Crosshair now sees the error of his ways, the Empire brings him back in, to do god knows what nefarious thing to him, to sink him further into hell. Man, what an episode.
This episode and the way that lieutenant was acting really made me miss Plo Koon😔
This season is still giving me that X-Files feeling. Every time there’s a clone conspiracy, black site testing facility, or Imperial government coverup. They should lean into this vibe for the rest of the series, it’s perfect for Bad Batch
Ironically Star Wars explained compared crosshair to the smoking man. If crosshair is in the episode expect it to be really good

Actually it was Mayday who saved Crosshair's life, at that avalanche.
Exactly and for the second time, He pushed Crosshair away from the rock to save him, Mayday was then thrown into the rock by the force of the avalanche.
So he saved my boy's life, twice. Which is why Mayday is a complete *GOAT.* So devastated that he was left to die with no medical aid. I really wish he had lived, so unfair that so many Clones are being murdered. Can we stop already.

Crosshair's actions always speak much louder than his words. Good thing. Thank You Cody, for your wisdom; this is why Cross finally figured out the Empire & it's true intentions regarding Clones *(ALL his brothers.)* (And Kyle, Bradley Baker's new favorite is also a well known Batcher, Crosshair.) Always remember, the Kaminoans are extremely detached & always show their callous intention. *Fives & Tup*
I am loving this slow redemption arc for Crosshair. Written beautifully. I hope the BB can get to him before it's too late. Fantastic episode.

25:34 I tend to agree. I never had too much empathy for Crosshair before. He made his choices after removing his inhibitor chip. But this episode changed that for me. I was incredibly moved by Crosshair and I really feel for him.
The cynic in me thought, “what if the crates are empty and they’ve just got outposts of clones wearing themselves down, protecting literally nothing, just so the empire can reduce their numbers”, and then the show went “that’s too easy, they’re protecting the armour for the guys who are gonna replace them, so while they have a purpose, it’s basically the same thing as Andor building the plating for the Death Star”
This is a 2nd favorite after S2E3. Also RIP, Mayday, Hexx, and Veetch, you are a good soldiers.

Calling it now: Crosshair, Cody and Howzer are all locked up in the facility at Tantiss, and are going to be turned into those assassin clones Rex and Chuchi met, and that is their way of dealing with problematic Clones.
Or maybe Cody and Howzer have already been turned, and the Batch will have to sav Crosshair from teh same fate.
But can they be turned back?

Gotta feel bad for Crosshair, despite the choices he made of his own free will. For so long he clung onto the belief that if he was a good soldier and followed orders the Empire would treat him like one of the good ones and give him a chance to live as a soldier. Then Mayday helps him to see that no matter what you go through for them, the Empire doesn't care. And of course the Lieutenant spells it out plainly that all the Empire cares about is finding a mission for Crosshair that'll finally kill him.
I do hope that regardless of their plans for him, he makes it out with Omega when she's inevitably brought to Tantiss. It would be a good completion to his redemption if he makes her escape possible.

i really liked mayday. he was a lot like hunter and rex which is likely why crosshair latched on. also liked the symbolism of his name. mayday is a distress call.
Like in this episode Crosshair tried to save him. But during the war Mayday got his name for being there to save others.
Yes I noticed his name right away as well, friend. Mayday is a GOAT. Loved him. Cross is missing his brothers, this is why he was so invigorated working alongside Cody & Mayday.

Had an 'A bridge too far' moment as well... when they discover that the cargo they tried to save just contained helmets and gear

Katarn, you're the first reaction I've seen that recognizes that the Empire may chop up Crosshair to integrate him with machine to be 1st attempt at Phase I Dark Trooper experiment.
Only thing I wish they did was make Crosshair dome the lieutenant (rather than the centre mass shot). Some people are saying that Crosshair might be saved via one of the batch members sacrificing themselves to save him. The most likely looks to be Tech, seeing that they’ve put extra focus into his character development vs any of the other members
Aaww, not Tech. We need a disney ending to the series. Enough Clones have died in TCW & BB. There needs to be more saving now.

I'm not sure if you guys watched the entire Outpost episode bc Crosshair does wake up to a nurse tending to him and he asks where he is before passing out again. He's actually at the same facility Nala Se is being held.
Anyways I loved that episode too. Crosshair finally understands his brothers are right, clones don't matter at all to The Empire and there are some orders that even he won't follow.

this episode had SO many metaphors/symbols and i love it. with crosshairs helmet standing for the empire, the bird and the rocks behind him symbolising the wings etc.

This episode was an emotional nuke, to see such a change in Crosshair was amazing. But I also think he is being put into the first generation of the death trooper program, otherwise I can't see any other reason for them keeping him like that. Hopefully the batch or Rex come and bust him out!
Very great Episode, and though I am a massive Imperial Fan, never have I wanted an Imp Officer dead so badly as I did this Lieutenant. Also Mayday was awesome! RIP Mayday 🫡.

Honest question, not meant to be snarky, why do you like the Imperials? What is there to like about a horrid fascist empire that chews up and spits out people like they are nothing? I have never understood Empire fans, but I would love your take on it. Happy to listen!

Loved the symbolism of the vulture above Crosshair like a warning of his fate if he stays on this course.
I know it's gonna fall on deaf ears, but I think there is in fact a personal connection to Omega when it comes to Nala Se. It may not be on the level of a genuine motherly connection as we know it, but everything we saw of her behavior around the topic of Omega hints that there's something more there then just a clinical importance. Hell, if we're dead set on judging Nala Se based on previous actions, it could very well be a toxic attachment to Omega where she see's Omega as belonging to her in some selfish delusional way, but Omega doesn't feel the same. Especially after getting to experience something more like a family with her brothers.
Lama Su is a politician. That says everything about his motivations.
Saving your own ass. The Kaminoans are callous & cold hearted as hell.
I'm so glad that not everyone has forgotten Nala Se's role in the death of Tup and Fives. I will never forgive her.
I also think that what we saw in the cafeteria were shinies. I think clones in the field, when they know the Bad Batch, respect them. We saw that Capt Gray, Depa Billaba's clone Captain, respected them. Cody respected them. Mayday here seem to respect them. Howzer didn't make a fuss about them. Experience leads to respect!
I also think that Crosshair will become bait. They know Omega is with the Bad Batch. They know he used to be to with the Bad Batch. Crosshair is the only Imperial who knows the Bad Batch survived.
It's also possible since the Bad Batch sent Rex and Echo the info on the Zillo beast, they might show up on Tantiss and try and rescue Crosshair.
The Kaminoans are cold hearted, callous & can't be trusted. Never liked Nala Se. Even more so for screwing Crosshair with the enhancement of his inhibitor chip in Season 1. Evil. Yes, our Tup & Fives.

“Why is Omega so important to Nala Se?”
We’ve been told that Omega is an unaltered clone of Jango Fett. This has to be patently false. The mere fact that Omega is female is proof of that.
There’s more. Omega’s apparent age does not add up. Remember, Omega told her brothers that she witnessed them being created in Nala Se’s lab.
How old do you think the members of Clone Force 99 are? If we assume they were as old as 10 actual years during Ep.2, then Clone Force 99 should now be approximately 10-14 actual years old, or 20-28 clone years old. This estimate matches their appearance.
Boba Fett seems to have been one of the very first clones that was created. If Omega is the same age as Boba Fett, then she would have been about 10 during Ep.2.
She should be about 14 years old during the events of “The Bad Batch”. Yet, Omega physical appearance seems to be half that age. Her appearance seems to be like a child that is less than 10 years old.
I think Nala Se knows that Omega is not an unaltered clone. Being female, Omega has obviously been altered in some way.
I think Omega’s aging has been altered to be HALF that of a normal human. This is the scenario that best explains Omega’s apparent age. Omega’s secret has been hiding in plain sight.

They wont use crosshair to hunt Omega, they will use him to draw the Bad Badge in and then take omega.
Guys, there IS no more Kaminoan clone program. There's no *Kamino.* If Nala Se only cared about Omega because she was the original clone material, that's all over. Omega isn't leverage and Lama Su wouldn't have suggested her to the Empire.
The only value Omega can have that would motivate one of the last surviving Kaminoans, who has nothing to look forward to but captivity and death, is if there is a personal investment. Nala Se raised Omega. No accelerated growth.. She's basically her mom.
So tell me... is Pong Krell STILL the most hate-able Star Wars character? Because to me, Lieutenant Nolan's a good contender
I think Omega will be captured and Crosshair sacrifices himself so she can escape and Crosshairs death will be what sparks the clone rebellion. We've already gotten embers of it but this will be when the batch get involved and we actually start it

I got a lot of Metal Gear vibes here. I think it was because of the theme of soldiers getting exploited by the powers that be. Plus, the setting was similar to Shadow Moses.

What an episode!
The problem is that those do happen in real life. There are usually 2 kinds of officers. 1 who plays with his/her ego & is more authoritative. The other who’s willing to cooperate & treat his/her subordinates fairly. Because these Clones have been through real combat vs someone fresh out of the academy or college who’ve never been in real combat situation. However, if we can’t respect the man, respect the rank at least.
The prejudice/racism towards Clones does make sense after the Emperor gave the speech about them inflicting carnage without hesitation. Wiped out a whole civilization and Clones are blamed for that which I think why LT. Nolan treated them as such. Given that the whole world knows about this twisted truth.

Great episode. I loved everything with Mayday and his squad. I love that they were guarding Stormtrooper gear. It's a real twist of the knife to the clones, literally being made protect the means with which to replace them. It pains me just thinking about it.
I have some mixed feelings though. The episode was great don't get me wrong, really well done and built up but the Crosshair stuff is not resonating with me at all pretty much. I just don't buy him having a change of heart or being redeemed. Full disclosure: I've never liked him at all, since TCW S7. I've tried to and I hoped this series would turn him around for me but it hasn't happened so I'm not invested in him too much. I totally get him killing Nolan. That was super satisfying. It was one of the few times I've applauded Crosshair. Screw him. I just don't see Crosshair becoming a good guy.
He's just been a jerk since the very start, antagonising everyone for no reason, insulting Echo's disabilities and his injuries, etc. As you said, he's a freaking sociopath and that's not someone who's very redeemable. I just find myself asking "Why should I root for this guy?" He was such an ass to the point that everyone fully believed he would betray the Batch in S1, chip or no chip. The twist that his was amplified was cool but it wasn't necessary at all to sell the idea that he'd go Imperial in the first place. And now the chip is gone and he went back to the Empire willingly for an extended period of time and only now he's starting to change? It just doesn't feel earned to me. I have the same feeling I have about TROS and Kylo Ren, which, while I liked the movie overall, that one aspect felt like it was very forced and I really don't want a repeat of that again.
Giving Crosshair a remotely believable redemption is a damn near impossible task because as I said, he isn't exactly a good person at his core to begin with. It feels too late to make Crosshair appear redeemable when there's nothing redeemable about him. He showed no remorse, empathy or compassion even before he got his chip supercharged and he hasn't shown any afterwards like we clearly saw Kallus doing in Rebels. I buy him being done the Empire but as far him becoming a good guy now, which is how I feel they're going to push his story in his next appearance, nah. I hope that's not how it goes and they do something a little more interesting with him

I’m amazed the positive vibes that Crosshair is getting for killing a LT in cold blood as he’s been killing innocent people. The LT deserved it and Crosshair was on the verge of snapping. Just hope he doesn’t go after Omega. Crosshair episodes are so damn good!
Nah that's already been done pretty much. He's done with taking Empire orders, I think. They to my dismay, could torture however. Jesus, this is going to ruin me.

theory: omega is not a clone but conceived naturally to get clean genetics to make a new army but they wanted a boy for that, jango died and the original genom is decaying, so they remixed and ended up with the bad batch.
