“Been a while since we’ve been to Kashhyyk.” YEAH. That unseen arc from The Clone Wars where The Bad Batch goes with Yoda to Kashhyyk is definitely still canon.
@@bemasaberwyn55 I really doubt Dave’s involved with the writing he’s mainly just overseeing the show from a distance because he’s busy with the Ahsoka show
The spiders, Wookie mounts, Trandoshans teaming up with enemy and the forest burning were all story elements of that arc, so it's good to see them utilised here
I wonder if seeing Gunji, a Jedi child needing help, brought the memories of Kanan back to Hunter? Last time he offered aid to a Jedi child, he not only refused but also ran away. Makes me wonder if Hunter thinks about Kanan from time to time and wonders if he's okay. Probably even more so while they were helping Gunji get home and protecting him. Hunter is probably thinking ''I couldn't help one Jedi child before. I'm not going to let it happen again".
In terms of Omega and the seeing the force, I’m sure she would’ve met Shaak Ti at some point, as she was there very often and trained a lot of the clones.
I’m not in the loop on this matter but I’m not understanding why people think she’s Force sensitive. Isn’t she like Boba who is not only a clone, but not Force sensitive either? Could anyone help me understand?
@@acgearsandarms1343 It’s just a theory some people have currently. We don’t know why Omega is the only female clone of Jango, and so it’s thought that she’s a result of an experiment into trying to create a force sensitive clone, which does become possible in the future as Palpatine does so in the sequels.
What a great episode, bringing things full circle in a way. There originally was supposed to be an arc during Clone Wars where the Bad Batch with Echo in tow went to Kashyyyk alongside Yoda and this episode brought back elements of it here which was amazing
Great to see Kinareth (spider creatures) finally get their canon debut! They were initially introduced in KOTOR and were annoying buggers to fight on Kashyyyk. There was going to be a Clone Wars episode featuring them but it was scrapped, so it's nice to see Kashyyyk and them again, along with Gungi of course. Great reaction.
Right on schedule. I just finished watching the latest episode a few seconds ago. I don't know but I felt I heard Mark Hamill voice the Trandoshan leader. Also a Wookie Jedi in action so awesome.
Though this episode didn't advance The Bad Batch's storyline that deals with the Empire on a larger scale, I was delighted that this "filler" episode had an important purpose. Also great action and pacing. Was great to see a Jedi again. And Gungi was adorable. My 2nd most favorite episode on SE2 so far!
I absolutely love how we keep getting little nods at all the stuff from Clone Wars that they never got to make after it was cancelled. The spider creatures and Wrecker's comment about Kashyyyk references the arc where Yoda and the Bad Batch were supposed to go to Kashyyyk and establish Yoda's good relations with the Wookies and there is that short unfinished clip of them fighting the spider things, creatures that I never imagined we'd ever see animated. It's this specific kind of SW fan service that's my favorite because it's always such a bittersweet thing to nod to the unproduced episodes of Clone Wars and to show that while we never got to see them, they did still happen.
I actually believe that, whenever possible, Filoni & Team will make use of those lost episodes, which include George Lucas' original storytelling. I'd be perfectly fine with TBB being stuck on a planet, for a short time, and, to lighten the mood and pass the time away, they regale Omega with a Clone Wars tale, that was an actual episode that was never finished from George and Filoni's TCW stash of scripts.
I'm hoping we're seeing the set up for the future of Star Wars. There is a greater threat on the outskirts of the Galaxy...and only a Force-wielding Mandalorian named Grogu and his furry friend Gungi can save the New...New...Republic ;)
A small detail I like is that the bad batch’s guns are set to kill in this episode, but while they’re fighting the clones their guns are always set to stun because they still see the clones as their brothers
1:47 There's definitely something wrong with a droid that starts checking any collection of items by pulling one from the middle instead of starting at one corner and working their way systematically through them in order.
I like that Gungi still doesn’t trust the bad batch even though they aren’t standard clones, but trusts Omega pretty quickly because still the fact that she is a clone is hidden from everyone
I know it’s too dark for Disney but I would’ve loved to see Gungi return to his Wookiee roots and rip an arm off Also you gotta respect Gungi pulling a Leroy Jenkins in the Trando’s
I wonder if the fact that Tech forges chain codes will come into this later - will they get involved with something like the Path? (I actually thought, going into the episode, that the whole point of the chain codes would be to smuggle survivors, and not just something they were selling to what ended up being traffickers.)
Wookiees are known to have extremely long lifespans, and Omega is a clone with slowed ageing, so I’m holding onto the hope that they will meet again some day
Hunter to the Trandoshan: Now you die (Reference to DK on the Super Mario Bros Movie) Anyway I liked the episode and waiting for the next two episodes!
I dont see Hunter beeing the type of person who sees wookees praying to tree and goes "The trees have a plan, okay, whatever they say" (withoth irony). The trees help nothing. The spiders didnt "help", they just attacked who ever aggro them. Great plan all around. Pray to trees.
Yeeeeeeess Gungi I freaking love him such an adorable little badass wookie.. glad he's back but I'm little worried to, I was kinda hoping he would travel with the bad batch him and omega are cute. Great reaction Greg and Michael xxxx ps I have a fondness for phantom menace it was the first star wars movie I saw in the cinema and I love it its not my fave but for nostalgic reason's I stick up for it.
This episode was amazing! I loved it so much. Whether it’s be the the story or the interactions between the characters, this episode just seemed to have it all. I just liked the overall feeling with this one. The score for this episode was also really amazing, it just felt so tribal and spiritual, especially during all the Gungi and Kashyyyk scenes. And just like always, the animation is super beautiful, and stunning, especially all the scenes on Kashyyyk. The detail put into every scene were amazing and just so visually pleasing. And I liked how it seemed how depending on the tone of the scene the coloring of the scene and environment would change. And speaking of Kashyyyk, it was really great to see it again on screen for the first time since Revenge of the Sith in 2005. I also really loved all the elements in this episode that were used from the unfinished Clone Wars episodes where the Bad Batch go to Kashyyyk with Yoda and fight with the Wookiees. Like, for example, the Monkey creatures the Wookiee’s rode on and the Trandoshans using Separatists tanks to enslave Wookiees. I also loved being able to see Gungi again. He was always my favorite Padawan from that Clone Wars arc, and I just so glad that they reintroduced him in this show. I loved every second he was on screen, whether it be his action scenes, the scenes where he initially distrusts the Batch or his interaction scenes with Omega and the Wookiees. I really liked this a lot episode and all the things they did in it, and I can’t wait to see next week’s episode.
Hello, Star Wars fan here. I find it hilarious that the majority of Greg's "hot takes" were like... totally things I actually think. Other than the micro series being bad, that's just ridiculous! 😡 😂
I feel like gungi lost all of his youngling pals and its really sad the pain he must be going through i hope we see him again and he lives a long life and still trains and doesn’t stop being a jedi.
Okay but I actually do want another Solo movie with Emilia Clarke though... :) But relevant to this episode - one of the things that really bugs me about the sequels is that in Kenobi, Jedi Order, etc - we see all these potentially interesting plot possibilities of Jedi that managed to escape or be out there and the sequels just closes the door on all of that. It's so infuriating to me. I'm not opposed to stuff like Palpatine returning, the idea of Rey being connected to Palpatine in some way and adopted into the Skywalker legacy, or even Luke having some crisis of faith...but like you said, there was zero plan.
Actually, I think that would be anti-climatic at this point. I'd rather they had something to do with her being a clone with "specific useful mutations" and not induced Force-Sensitivity. Note that nothing she's done so far has been beyond the capabilities of other non-Force Sensitives we've seen in the movies: Han, Wedge, Bail, Din. She just seems to be very intuitive and perceptive, as well as being able to process information very quickly.
it would have been nice not to see the thumbnail before I watch the show come one man dont spoil it for this who cant always stay up and watch the show.
What if the wookies, Gungi and quinlon vos help set up the path from kenobi smuggling younglings and jedi it would make since because the wookies know about secret hyperspace routes.
