4:06 - - I don't believe they can move the date wheel closer to the dial as it would most likely interfere with the solar cells. 🤔
I am in the same boat, was a mechanic for 22yrs ended up with freak wrists. I start at a 40mm case size anything under just looks off.

Great watch you write about seiko lum my old Pepsi seiko 5 sill glows all night after a change with on of powerful led torches which helps my to see the time in bed with out my glasses on but the my new casio GWGB1000 with its atomic Night Light is now doing a better job but it also Wakes me wife up because it’s so bright 😅

The one thing you don’t hear about solar watches is the cost associated with replacing the battery.
A decent solar powered watch will last for +15 years on the rechargeable battery.
Cost per year will be negligible.
They don't have a battery - the energy is stored in a Manganese Titanium-Lithium rechargeable capacitor.
@@nemlolInteresting, the Casio and Citizen solar watches often use a a Panasonic recharcheable battery for about $20, ultra cheaprunning costs if you change it yourself. I have G shock s from 2007 still going on the original battery. I like this Seiko, but it is pricey for me nowadays. I hhave recently bought a beadblasted 39mm cased(Seiko movement) mecaquartz chronograph that has a beautiful domed AR coated sapphire crystal, 100m WR, with screwdown back, crown and pushers that is beautifully finished for £71/$85 including shipping and tax. The lume isn't quite up with Seiko (which is their thing, they're brilliant). It does make you wonder the mark up on these famous brands. Have a look around, the Militado is the watch I refer to; it's a relevation, amazing time keeping. (Former Seiko fanboy)
