    I have had the SSC 911 for about 2 months. I noticed recently that I seem to pick it up to wear considerably more often than my other watches in my collection. I like the dial which is not too busy as the second hand marks are not on the dial. Certainly accurate enough and maintenance free. Only rub is the calendar which I can't see without my readers. A good watch especially for the price.

    24 hour dial use for people whose countries track all time in 24 hours instead of twelve. I'm an American living in Shanghai, and all the time, I'm told of meetings at 1600, 1800, etc. That dial is super useful to me.

      Hi Kirk, thanks for commenting. I have reviewed a few of these ‘mecaquartz’ watches and complained about the 24 hour dial every time. Thats tens of thousands of views. Your the first to comment that the dial is useful. So I will make sure I mention that the next time I review one… because I’m still going to comment that it’s useless for the vast majority of wearers.

    The V192 is not a mecaquartz caliber. Therefore the seconds hand doesn't flyback to 0, but you get the option to sincronize the seconds and minutes hands back to 0, so a major advantage.

    • @CasualWatchReviews
      @CasualWatchReviews  Рік тому +1

      Yep it doesn’t snap back but it sweeps back quickly! I think o may have said it was like a mecaquartz? Still has the ridiculous 24 hour indicator!

      @@CasualWatchReviewsI think you're confusing quartz and mechaquartz. Mechaquartz snap back into position immediately like a usual mechanical chronograph, because they have a mechanical function built in, quartz on the other hand swing back into place slowly (like this watch). So this is a usual solar quartz movement, not a mechaquartz.

    I've found myself tempted by both this newer 41 mm and last year's release--SSC813 (39mm). I'm not sure which size I'd prefer for my 7 in or just under wrist, though I usually don't go over 40 mm. I think I like the hands on the 911 better. But I'm concerned about the 21 mm bracelet. Strapcode has what appear to be high quality replacement bracelets that fit the 813 with 6 micro adjustments, but if you don't get a good fit with the original 913 you're screwed.

    The reason it ticks 5 times per second is to track at least a fifth of a second when using the chronograph.

    • @CasualWatchReviews
      @CasualWatchReviews  Місяць тому

      I’m not convinced of the importance of that on this watch. I can’t imagine anyone who needs to track a fifth of a second who wouldn’t be better suited using a digital watch or a specific timing device. It’s purely an aesthetic thing to see a sweeping hand.

    • @bricesuire5072
      @bricesuire5072 Місяць тому

      @@CasualWatchReviews either way it is a tool not only a time piece. All chronographs are intended for tracking elapsed time. It’s not to look like a mechanical watch it’s to be used as its intended purpose.

    • @CasualWatchReviews
      @CasualWatchReviews  Місяць тому

      You're just making a general statement about chronograph watches so let me clarify. it’s athletics on a mechaquartz. If you’re interested I interviewed an Aviator in the Navy about the previous speedtimer with the same movement. It’s actually pretty useless as a ‘tool’ chronograph because of the way the sub-dials are used. So unless you’re actually timing just 60 seconds or using the Tachymeter for speed vs seconds then you’re better off using another type of timing device… like a stopwatch. There is no advantage to having a sweeping hand on this watch or the 24 hour subdial.
