To all this adds a gestation of 400 years and that during that gestation she was absorbing nutrients from a dragon and a "master enchanter" and her magic as well. After that, you could say that Erza is 33% dragon. Which explains her enormous power and many of her feats.

Irene's past is worse. In the manga, they tied her with a rope around her feet and legs to be suspended, and they beat her on her back while she was pregnant, and they made her naked in front of the people she was protecting in order to make fun of her because she was a monster to them.
Well. Censorship is the name of the game that's why when they animated it, they have to eliminate it so they don't see the brutal side of the story.
Wtf guess that's supposed to be symbolism with what happened to erza in the tartaros arc when she was tortured in a similar way.
