August cant tell zeref. He tells zeref one of two things will happen, either zeref loves August as his son and his curse will kill august and that would BREAK zeref. Or zeref rejects him and hates him. No matter what he does, he can never be loved by his parents, so he choose to live a loveless life. He lived a truly sad life with a very cruel fate...
August, Irene and Zeref had the saddest existences IMO
I mean August couldn't have told him because he would have died because of the curse

For the “I am a child of Zeref” line last ep before this one, if you didn’t catch before, all the people fighting for him consider themselves children of Zeref, to imply he is just another soldier. Similar to how the guild members of Fairy Tail are not actually Makarov’s children but he calls them that. It’s the opposite for the Spriggan in a sense.
August was the most naturally OP human we have seen in Fairy Tail. The other three super OP mages had some major downside related to why they were so strong, while August was just at that level.
Being the product of two geniuses and both also cursed by Ankhseram, his skill set sounds about right 😁

Mavis and Zeref are parents that cannot love else thier loved ince will die and August a child who cannot receive parental love bcuz if he does, he will die.

Ngl, Watching the alvarez empire arc again with you guys has made me realize that this arc isn't really as bad as I thought it was. In fact it is actually really good with all these twists and turns. Plus august dragneel became an unexpectedly great character in the series
I think the biggest problem with the Alvarez arc is the speed. It's almost got the opposite problem of Narutos war arc; everything here is just at a lightning pace. There are a lot of ideas here for sure; but Mashima was rushing to end things, so he doesn't let anything build or breathe with the time that it should to have a true payoff.
It also doesn't help that either because he was rushing or for other reasons; a lot of his most negative writing choices are constantly on full display in this arc much more then in previous ones.

Rather than mavis,I think August is the weapon Zeref needed.....If he trained August into a better weapon with proper training,there's a chance he will be on par with Acnologia since August capable of breking the limits of average wizards into far stronger beings.
no, August can't but if he has a fairy heart then maybe he still has a chance because Acnologia can do crazy stuff that I don't think just August's copying power is enough to make it possible defeat Acnologia

I don't think so. I always interpreted it as Zeref and Mavis were doing more than just kissing when she "died". Obviously she's not gonna disclose the intimate details and stuff like this has to be censcored regardless.

Incredible that his parents' curse is what kept August alive all this time and that upon learning of his identity he would die 💔 Literally August suffered since he was born due to an absurd war of powers and guilds... The greatest affected reflected in This being of age... His story is very painful... It is very painful to see how zeref was worth Larcade's feelings... The biggest curse of anime reflected in this chapter... How sad 💔
