@@catbulglarnamiand although still very much flawed, the sequel FT100 YQ actually takes Lucy's fights just as seriously as the others. *Spoilers for 100YQ* IIRC Lucy only had 2 major/important fights so far, but both really explored the potential of Star Dress, Lucy's wits and overall magic abilities. Lucy x Mimi really showed how far she's come in terms of physical strength, endurance and determination and a bit of her smarts, where her fight against that girl to save Laxus (forgot her name) really showed the potential of Star Dress Mix (Aquarius x Gemini is so OP), and how Lucy can adapt to various circumstances with her magic. Only downside is the never ending sexualization and fan service but that's Fairy Tail in it's core unfortunately lol

I don’t know if you realized that she was fighting with everything she learn during her journey in fairy tail. Fighting with her whip, lucy’s kick, simultaneous summoning, 3 gates open at once, summoning the spirit king, destroying plutogrim, obtaining new power up, casting the final magic of the stars strike ‘urano metria’ and then dispelling the alegría curse and final stopping Mard Geer turning him in stone. All by herself using her magic. It’s just amazing her character development ❤

Lucy is one of the female characters in Shonen who instead takes the old MC Shonen development style, which is zero to hero, you won't immediately see her developing quickly but always gradually, and that's what I like about Lucy, you will be surprised at how strong Lucy is. in 100 years quest 😅
I love seeing her grow. Also the fact that she started out using'feminine' magic and evolves into using it more offensively.
These three episodes were definitely some of the best in the entire show, and probably why this arc is considered the best by many people.
Watching this part again, it's actually quite impressive that lucy in that state was able to still keep the CSK even after summoning 3 spirits, she really popped off on her magical power, and then was given some more even after summoning him, her magical power really wasn't anything to sneeze at
Lucy is awesome. Also Lucy has by far the fastest power-growth of anyone in the series.
Everyone else has been a wizard either since birth or early childhood. And Lucy? Well, she did receive the keys from her mother at a young age and dabbled a little, but was quickly forbidden by her father learn and use magic, so she stagnated.
Only when she ran away, she once again dabbled and only became a full-time wizard when she joined Fairy Tail at the start of the series, which (timeskip aside, since she was frozen) is less than two years!
And now look at her. I'd wager at this time, she's the seventh or eigth strongest wizard if Fairy Tail behind Master, Laxus, Erza, Natsu, Gray, Mirajane and maybe Wendy. She's overtaken and dwarfs people who have been wizards for longer than she has even been alive (like Macao and Wakabe).
And yet there were people who still considered her a weak... at least up to this episode. This episode finally gave Lucy the time to shine she deserved. She saved the entire guild and by extension the entire continent ON HER OWN! And every victory that Fairy Tail can have in the future, can only exist, because she pulled through right here.
@@Norbert_Sattler I definitely agree about her growth and honestly her being able to summon a gold key at such a young age with a strong spirit like aquarius was already enough to let you know she's good, she just need more training and experience when it came to battles and using magic in an excessive way but she's really come a long way from that, especially with her star dresses in 100 year quest
@@Norbert_Sattler 100% agree. Gildarts is definitely missing in your list, but that one is obvious. Imo she falls behind Wendy, too. The only other character in the guild who's not on your list and potentially surpasses Lucy at this point is Gajeel. And that's a maybe.

14:15 Remember this is Lucy "Lucky" Heartfillia. She has been named from the word lucky and has been commonly the luckiest character in the franchise. Understandable for the main character of the series, after all who is meant to defeat the bad guys if not the protagonist herself. Even, if she needed time to grow to this level. It only gets better after this.
I watch Lucy breaking the key when I want to cry ngl. It gets me everytime. Then the Celestial Spirit king appearing is just perfection.

Interresting fact, as well as Celestial spirit king is conected to Lucy's Magic all of his strikes are with Lucy's magic power. So after all we can assume thats Lucy cuts part of a Country.
This is the moment of Lucy, SHE NAILED IT. She save all her friends against the entire Tartaros, this it too much! I aways cry in this episode and I love how serious was that, this is a real consequence, Aquarius never get back.

Everytime I see Aquarius' key getting broken breaks my heart. But I love the fact that now Lucy has access to a broken power.
I really felt Lucy's pain. I cried sooo much in those episodes. Lucy is THE QUEEN for being able to summon three spirits at once.

It's quite common in anime for Lucy to be the only one to get away with some situations. This will happen more often. Apparently she has the luck factor on her side.
And it's actually sad to be the only one left, though the best example is what happened in the future lucy timeline, everyone died living her behind alone that's f**king sad 😔 what if it will come true as we all know this series is still ongoing what if she will be the only one left after the 100 years quest. Lucy is a phenomenal character and written extremely well. She isn't just a fighter but a deeply written character in many forms. Her greatest strength is her intelligence and never giving up attitude.
She grows so much from the start of the series to where we are now. Incredible character. I prefer characters that aren't OP from the get go and build their strength over time which is what Lucy does exactly. Favorite character of all time with ease.
Yeah, it always seems that Lucy doesn't do much but it's not true - she isn't a warrior like the others, never had the training before she joined FT - she's mostly a support type but a very essential support (a lot of battles wouldn't have been won without her) and I love her^^

The scene with CS king. How he instantly blasted that cube.. The entire thing going down.. With a single wizard crying.. After making an ultimate sacrifice and summoning an entity too powerful for that realm.. With that bg music.. It gives me goosebumps every single time..
That scene with Aquarius always makes me cry. There is something so heartbreaking with how she's trying to deny her true feelings... I love Lucy as a character, I'm always emotional when she's involved. She deserves more than the hate some people have for her. Or Fairy Tail as a whole, for that matter. She's a great female character and Mashima is very good at that kind of things. Eli, Lucy, Rebecca... He never miss and he, at least, respect his female heroes.
Your reaction to seeing little Mira's arm reminded me so much of Natsu on Galuna Island. Everyone is "Woe onto us" and "Oh, that is so tragic" and then Natsu goes "You got horns and fangs, that's so cool! I'm envious!" ^^
I think the only mage in Fairy Tail who we know to have had a relatively normal childhood is Romeo. Both of his parents are alive and well, albeit divorced, so not even he gets off 100 % happy in the parents depertement.
But other than him we have a father/grandfather who turned traitor and tried to wipe out the guild, tragic death with father becoming cold, tragic death followed by the tragic death of the mentor/surrogate mother, unknown disappearance followed by the sudden disappearance of the adoptive parent (times 3), tragic death followed by enslavement, loss of an eye and more trauma,... and that's just within the Fairy Tail guild itself!
10:50 Lucy's shirt got damaged beyond the ability to fully cover her important bits if worn normally in the fight against Franmalth, so she salvaged what little was left, to at least make a make-shift bra out of.
I so love this stretch of epsiodes... but unfortunately it's also the only place in the entire series were they misused music. Lucy is all alone against an entire army of Demons. The lives of every single one of her comrades and the fate of the entire continent depend solely on her. The chances of success are minicule and the chances of a painful death high... and they play a happy theme song... why? Thankfully it doesn't last long and is followed up by some of the most heart-wrenching and some of the most bad-ass scenes of the series.
That Gajeel of all people would come in to protect Lucy from a blade is rather nice. All the way back in the Phantom Lord arc, he threw blades at Lucy and she would have died, hadn't Natsu burst through the floor to intercept them and now Gajeel has turned from the attacker, to the defender, who intercepts the blade to protect his earstwhile victim.
Aquarius isn't dead. She's perfectly alright, but without a key, she's stuck in the Celestial Spirit World. If Lucy were to be invited there again and willing to take the 1 day there equals 1 month in the material world issue, she could even meet her again, but she definitely can't summon her anymore.
I can never not cry watching this. My heart broke with that key😭

Lucy in this episode was amazing. She fought 2 demon gates, defeated one, held off Mard Geer for a while and safed her entire guild.

and what she does in Alvarez and what she continues to do in the 100 year mission (I don't know if you read the sequel manga) is just spectacular ❤

Years will pass and the sacrifice of Aquiarios will always hurt me, Lucy reaffirms in this arc and in each chapter from the beginning of Fairy Tail what her celestial spirits mean to her in each chapter (with LEO in the chapters where he saved her life, with capricorn on the island against grimone heart, with aries in the prayer arc six, with virgo etc etc), for her aquarouios was the memory of her mother, in addition to the fact that aquarius had to have that character to make her strong and to cope with that loneliness, God, what happens with Lucy in this arc after Wendy is splendid, I just know that everything that happened previously prepared her to do battle against the demons of TARTAROS💔

Some of my most fav episodes because my girl got to SHINE!!! Imo, Lucy is one of the best written female characters in anime because she actually gets an AMAZING development both personality-wise and power-wise. It's amazing. Say what you want about FT but they have some of the best written female characters that even big shots like Naruto cannot compare to

Let's be for real, Lucy is the main attraction of Fairy Tail..Natsu comes to second place... the way she navigates the storyline, being the MC as same as Natsu but she gets treated dirty all the times when she's so kind, the way the author created Lucy so pretty, she always changes into different outfits and with different hairstyles but still look pretty and even more.. that's what makes her one of the most popular/pretty anime characters of all..and how she created with unique power (celestial spirit magic) which she's the only anime character with such power makes her even more special..so when these episodes came out, people are so hype for Lucy...u know what, despite the author has a very wise, great base idea for his plot story but quite suck in expanding/explaining it but there's still a good thing about it...he made Lucy got shit most of the time.. and with this redemption development makes it worthy for certain points

I believe the order for joining the guild for a bunch of the younger members was , Cana, Gray, Erza, Natsu,Mira Elfman and Lisanna, Levy Jet and Droy were also around Mira Time unsure when. Guys Like Gildarts, Macao, Wakaba, and Reedus were the generation before. Laxus of course basically was born in the guild much like Romeo. Alzack and Bisca were maybe 1 year or so before Lucy. I have no clue for guys like Vjitter, Nab, Laki, or Max and then everyone else was important was during the series. Obviously Makarov was way before anyone.
Oh I forgot about Loki who would have been anywhere 3-1 years before story.
Thing with lucy is she 8s the actual protaganist so they went with a she is the readers representation she starts low and grows in strengh its classic story set uo a new person joins a grouo or world and has to grow in strengh to match their team mates who allready are good in said world such as percy jackson or harry potter start from bottom smd grow

you just can't not be crying after this because for the whole series Aquarius and Lucy's relationship was rocky but in the end she was willing to sacrifice her key because she knew deep down she loved lucy .....but Spirit World king one of my top 5 characters from this series because he treats every spirit and every human that is his friend like family and when you hurt his family he gets pissed
I cried a lot watching these episodes Aquarius is my all time favorite character of Fairy Tail I love her she's a tsundere just like me and she represents my zodiac sign and no wonder Lucy cried Aquarius is her first celestial spirit her key was the heritage from her mother and Aquarius is actually the one who raised her like a big sister
