Nice progress vid! I think this is the first time we've been introduced to your face on camera so it's nice to finally meet you, haha. Congrats on the recent sale of the Trooper project. Sounds like it went to a good home.
Izuzu trooper, trooper II there not bad, parts are probably getting hard to find. IDK but I'd say lot of them got the crush when prices went up on junk back in 2005-15ish. Sad to a lot good "antiques"went down that last road.
Yeah. A lot of cars got scrapped in that era. Funny tho, for me that was the “hay days” of Pick-n-Pull, $100 long blocks back then! Thanks for watching!!
Hi, I want to know about the base of oil filter? Did you make it or you buy it? I wanna make the same but I have problem to fix the oil filter....and as I see with this base I can do it.
I bought it from Acme Adapters. They also sell an Empi remote oil filter adapter but the angled one works better. The one I have is specific for 1.9td, it cost $225 but worth every penny.
Good question, I didn’t look into what VW people are doing and just went with the Valvoline 15-w40 diesel oil for Cummins that I run in my Ram 2500HD. Let me know if you have any recommendations. Thanks for watching!
It needs a bigger radiator which requires moving the power steering box to the outside of the frame rail and an FJ80 box…..I’ve mostly been wrenching on my Trooper RS. Honestly, if I did it over I’d do an Aerio 2.3 swap. Once I get the turbo diesel to not overheat I’ll still have to solve gearing issues if it ever wants to see the highway again. If you do the swap have your checkbook ready and do all the math and homework 1st is my advice.
@@victormeldru The Aerio might be called a “Liana” in Europe. A Suzuki sedan from early 2000’s. Trail Tough in Oregon USA has the swap info on their website.

Ha, I got an email from UA-cam saying to put the “you” in UA-cam so here’s my mug.

So sick man
Thanks man, it’s been a bit since it’s been on the trail but I’m committed this year.
Nice! Can you please make a video showing the rear of the flywheel? thank you!
I’d love to but it’s been installed into the samurai.
@@Chris_by_four I am working on making my own adapter and machining the stock suzuki flywheel to fit the vw diesel. I hope it's gonna work good.

Very nice Work. How can I get a touch with you for some more detail's???
What would you like to know? I’d be happy to try and answer any questions.
Hi , I am trying to do the same project with vw engine 19 diesel , the gearbox did you leave it samurai ? And what clutch did you use ?
how do youchange the transmission ratios so your doing more speed for less rpm with the diesle
35” tires and 4:10 gear in the diffs should be perfect. It’s off road only so I’m good with the 5.29’s.
@@Chris_by_four how do you get the speedo to read correct
@@robertfoster7807you don’t! I generally use a speedometer app if it’s critical but rarely am I speeding on 35’s.
What oil weight will you be running ?

Hows the diesel going?
Im thinking about doing the same

@@Chris_by_four thanks for the headsup.
I don't know what an aerio is, we never got them in England.

@@Chris_by_four I'll have a look. Thank you
What year is the engine
It came out of a 1995 Canadian Golf
um-um-um-um-um-um-um-um-um...
Those were all scripted. Thanks for watching!
