How to change the cambelt on a VW AAZ or any VW diesel engine.
Please make sure that you have found the TDC (top dead centre) when you do this job. I did the markup when I had the top off.
Part I used: www.autodoc.co.no/contitech/1...
Tools: brickwerks.co.uk/product/lock... - Авто та транспорт
Well done mate, saved me a load of hassle and can now crack straight on!!
yesss the proper way. loosten the cam bolt! Thats good so many people dont
Thank you very mutch Italjohn 13. Interesting video
Interesting video....👍
Thanks for posting this, it makes more sense now reading the manual and seeing this, im awaiting my kit to come from brickwerks, i will have to do this in the van, does the crank pulley need to come off when doing this in the van ??
Crank pulley??? You might mean the timing belt idler pulley? You only need to loosen the cam wheel, so you can make sure you get it right when you tighten the timing belt idler pulley.
Thank you very mutch
Use locking pins on all sprockets that accepts them and a locking bracket on the cam sprocket. That way you don't need to remove the cam cover.
Thank U for this perfect helpful! video
Excellent work, sir. Great straight forward. No nonsense presentation as well. Thank you. I'm sure I will be looking for you again.
Thank you Luke, glad you liked it 🥰
Hi do you run with a JX sump and turbo if so does your turbo drain ok iam having trouble with my AAZ JX sump and turbo, is blowing oil out of the exhaust all are reconditioned so should be sound .great channel for me !!!
Yes I use the JX turbo and oil pan. I have not seen any oil in my exhaust. I do how ever use the AAZ inlet but I don't think that should influence with the turbo drain.
@@Italjohn thanks for the reply keep up the good work !!!
@@Italjohn hello i have the same engine and i have a question about cold start mechanism of the pump, when you have it on can you hear the diference in the engine running? becouse i cant understund if it works or not, thanks
@@sk8foreal Yes I'm pretty sure it does. I haven't used the car for three months now, so I will have to check to sure. The car is still in winter hibernation.
@@Italjohn so if its on idle and i put ON the cold start by wire cable i should hear the engine run different? becouse i turn it on and off and i dont see any diferrence on the RPM or the engine sound
Okay man, but what about the design flaw when assembling the timing sprocket and the vibrochen. Why didn't you disassemble the sprocket to check?
It's easy if engine is outside the car. I tried it inside the engine bay, my back hurts too much doing this. The top dead center on the flywheel is on my AAZ not clear to see
I did it again in this clip. ua-cam.com/video/gTig_PSYJNM/v-deo.html

Hei.
@@Italjohn hello friend, can you tell me what is the flying wheel under the fuel pump and over the water pump ? what is this ? oil pump wheel?

@@Italjohn thanks for the info
@@Italjohn hello again brother, do you have an OEM number for this timing belt or any link so i can buy it ? thanks!

@@Italjohn thank you very much !!!
many unnecessary movements. interesting video but you are not quite right expose the crankshaft. there is a label on the flywheel, they didn't say about it
Yes I know about the flywheel, but I didn't have it installed so I was forced to do it without.
