Ismay apologies for language used in an email proposing a 'considerable addition to our armoury' in dealing with sub-postmasters.

Rod Ismay must go to prison for committing criminality.
You have skeward him there mr Beer ,he should be earmarked for jail time ,it’s really pathetic listening to him try to be so contrite and apologetic what a disgusting excuse for humanity
Absolutely
Obnoxious liar
Agreed. Despicable man.
Sadly I have no faith in this inquiry doing much. The behaviour of most of the people involved was EXACTLY what I would have expected from government employees in the same circumstances. Lets also look more at the high level barristers and beyond the inquiry itself at the judges, yes the judges, who were delinquent in allowing POL to get away with what they did. Take the focus off the minions who were neither qualified nor equipped.
@@Swaggerlotwe all know it won't though will we! Delinquent is the exact word!
Bring on the criminal charges. Let put the crims behind bars instead of the victims
Let's see him behind bars, for a long period. Pure lies.
How is it that the Post Office employed such a remarkable collection of dirt bags? Mind blown!
He looks like the proverbial arse licker for manager.he is a total creep
Prosecution should follow of Mr Ismay . He needs to be put under far more pressure than this.
Another Thug in a suit brought down to earth by Mr. Beer KC & the enquiry should find this scoundrel should be charged….
Charged with what?
@@smrriles5668are you really that stupid.please pay attention or don't you have the intellect to analysis information
“Thug[s] in suit[s]” exactly the right phrase. I, like many others, would these testimonies to be with prison wear and in handcuffs. When? And why not now?
Corporate manslaughter@@smrriles5668
This blatant liar needs to be in prison with Vennells and van den Bogerd
They knew it was all wrong but did nothing, fake apologies, still no empathy or shame…..They all look guilty…..All covering their own backs….Prison.….
As head of accounting he should have followed the cash - where was it? Shameful.
But that's work! Anyone would think that was what he got his big, fat salary for.
That’s what got me in the original trials.
If £10,000’s was going missing, where were the flash cars, the holidays abroad, the assets bought from the proceeds?
Due diligence was not taken by the judges in these cases in my opinion.
@@custossecretus5737 Indeed and after 300, 400, 500 convictions you thought someone would have gone "hang on a minute?"
@@a120068020 This and what a second sight guy said, makes me think ministers were involved.
Both the post office and Royal Mail were part of Royal Mail group when this started.
If you plan to privatise the post office or even the group, this would be a serious hit to the valuation of the company.
@@a120068020 Yep.
This really makes me want to throw up. He talks about it as if he has lost his bus ticket.
Jail time coming, hopefully!
Jail time and assets recovered as proceeds of crime .
We can but hope 🤞
@@nimuehstorm3103 I have no hope. I think 95% will get away with it. Although I'd love to be wrong.
@@josephkerrigan733agree with your sentiments
Memory loss seems to be on epidemic proportions throughout Post Office and Roal Mail staff.
There are no words to adequately express how “jobs-worths” like this guy can even try to justify the pain they have and continue to cause.
Another one who “cannot remember “ !!
Jail.
I'm sick to death of seeing these pathetic scoundrels trying to weasel their way out of trouble with their selective amnesia and blame shifting. So far they've all either said they can't remember, or they've pointed the finger at each other. I want every single person who's been involved in this to be gathered together and interrogated together - because they're all lying about their involvement, and I want to see what they do when there's no one else to blame except those in the room.
Now that would be interesting
Great idea!
How do these people get these jobs? Who employed this liar? Unfortunately nothing will happen.
More worryingly, how many people like this exist in many other large companies and organisations in this country?
@@dovetonsturdee7033 ...and the Public (us) are paying their salaries!
There really is no justice in this country if a trial is not had for these criminals. Justice is on trial in this inquiry - the outcome will be determined if they face time after this inquiry.
Couldn't agree more!
Rock on Jason great performance
Probably the best beer in the world
When is one of these idiots who were clearly coerced by the leadership and culture of the PO finally going to come out and admit they were wrong? it is shocking to me that they are all either retired or near retirement age and not one so far (to my knowledge) has had a mea culpa moment ….. and ladies and gentlemen therein lies the problem with this institution……As a father I really struggle with their collective protection of the institution before any sense of humanity and empathy and yet they still persevere……the first person who steps up (and they will!) will bring this whole house of cards tumbling down and they will be forever lauded. If you are reading this let it be you…..
Yet another incompetent and inept individual. How these people ever managed to get into these senior positions within the Post Office is totally beyond me.
Why isn’t he in jail with all his assets being seized and evenly distributed to his victims
This man knew there were Horizon bugs and he ignored them. He should be in prison.
All the power was with the post office.
This armoury of power was directed at individual sub post masters to secure the reputation of the post office brand, even when they had evidence that the system was not “robust”.
They had no problems with using that power on unsafe convictions.
The post office senior management are a very strange bunch..vindictive.. forgetful and apologetic..All of them the same
They seem to be blaming each other, you couldn't make this shit up mate
They are all trying their best to blame each other and when that doesn’t work insomnia comes into play.
Think you mean "amnesia."
Time the police took action
Unfortunately probably they are part of the problem ex police being given jobs as investigators etc 😕
Jobsworth public official …. He should pay with his own wealth and pension …..
Try and convince me, that ministers were not involved in this scandal.
Horizon program in use 1999
Post master convictions 1999-2015
Postal services act 2011
Royal Mail group split in 2012
Royal Mail privatised 2013-2015
The thing I want to know is who gave the Help desk the information to tell the postmasters they were the only ones and that Horizon was robust.
I keep hearing Mandy Talbot's name. Has she been called as a witness yet?
I looked her up. She did give evidence September 2023
Another strange post office robot
Is there going to be any recommendations for sentances for those found guilty of misjustice/lies cover ups by post office. How many times must we hear cover up, "can't remember, wasn't me, it was someone else, to long ago",didnt see that email, even though my names on it."??. Shocking if no sentances given. Police shouldn't have to be informed to look into criminal injustice, should be automatic after all this.
Do we have to have prosecutions of these people before we can consider sentencing? I think that is how it works.
Prior to any of this there had to be several other hurdles to jump in the legal system.
This is an enquiry with the purpose of getting to the truth. It would be up to the police to ascertain, using this as evidence if they feel appropriate, whether there is evidence to charge and the Crown Prosecution Service to give the go ahead. This enquiry is not a trial. That is why there are so many ‘I don’t recall’ as the witnesses do not wish to incriminate themselves. You’ll also notice that witnesses are hardly answering yes or no but instead answering “so in this situation’ or “what I remember about that”. They have clearly been given very good advice on how to answer questions.
@@emmaturner2558 cover up.
Russell….you forgot “I can’t recall” !
Can't wait for Easter bunny Vennells , it'll be the funniest thing since Blair's fake non-apology sympathy face after the Iraq war...
@martygrimstead4290.....PAULA VENNOM .....nasty piece of work........
Yet ANOTHER One for Court.
I wonder about the many millions of british taxpayer funds being wasted on these meetings. I'm not surprised we haven't reached a conclusion yet.
It just gets worse and worse. The nightmare that was Angela, followed by the comic masterpiece of cluelessness that was Jarnail, and now this complete buffoon. How much worse can it really get?
In view of who will be appearing the the next couple of weeks, significantly worse, I fear.
Jail time hopefully soon on the ...... horizon.
How do you sleep at night Mr Ismay? Jail is far too good for you sir
A ‘visit’ would not ho amiss!
"how do you sleep at night Mr Ismay?"
On a big pile of money is the answer
Jail time beckons
Many of these village post offices probably never made as much money as ‘reportedly’ they lost. How could amounts grow overnight?? Computers are very good at keeping track of time stamps and where an entry is made. This should have been a ‘no-brainer’!!
For goodness sake everyone has seen enough of this lieing circus. These victims need compensation now!.!
Why aren’t these people in jail or fined millions? They probably earned their bonus and living life in luxury and don’t care cause they know nothing will happen hence their contempt
If anyone wanted to know the definition of the word ‘contrite’, his responses perfectly illustrate it.
If they didn't know what they where doing why was he being paid so much. You ether know what's going on at that level or your lying.
Sorry I forgot I worked for the post office
Did he get his “waffling” from Johnson? This fool has been cornered with nowhere to run and making no sense whatsoever.
Obnoxious odious liar
"Not proud" or embarrassed that the truth has come out.
"I wasn't in charge! Oh not me! I'm only in charge when stumping for a raise, or when thumping my chest about how powerful I am."
Will those responsible go to prison?
Probably notbgavin not because they are not guilty but because the criminal justice system seem to protect the apperapchiks in business
I wonder if he is related to j. Ismay the former owner of the titanic?
Glad I'm not alone in wondering that!
There has got to be accountability and REAL compensation.
This is what happens when an entity which is public service, is privatized. Here n America, it's worse. Funny how the "right" won't privatize the military. By the way, I'm non-partisan moderate.
Yet again, another squirming suit, that’s got caught.
It’s like bad Agatha Christie in which all the suspects did it!
with a blunt instrument, in the library!
Wonder if he’s a relation to Bruce Ismay, MD of the White Star Line who stepped into a boat when the Titanic went down.
Not proud because you've been found out, eh unbelievable
He's hemming and hawing...
They have abandoned morality and humanity. Awful to witness 😞
Ugh, they really have to give up with the fake contrition… if, at the time, you thought it was the right thing to do then say that, dont try and hide behind “im not proud”. You now have better information, back then you worked off the information you had.
God bless the man for his honesty
Well done my namesake .
Got him, hook, Line and sinker.
"Too busy" heard it all now.
When is paula vile vennals taking the stand?
Wednesday 22 May. Three days. Let's hope that every minute of it is horrible for her.
22nd 23rd and 24th may
Thanks..Absolutely let's hope everyone who's been interviewed gets jailed.
We just don't stand a chance
As memory lose is so acute in the PO senior management I'm sure they won't mind paying back their fat bonuses. Not like they will remember getting them, the amounts and why they were paid out.
It confirms what I've always thought. Accountants use their personality as a contraceptive.
And another going to jail
Did they really believe that they had employed so many thieves?
700 postmasters have been wrongly prosecuted.
Surely anyone with any sense would have said , whow !!
Something wrong here , this just doesn't seem right .
But no, they conspired to keep prosecuting.
And now they are trying to say we are all thick , didn't realise, i can't remember, it was someone else , don't recall why i said that, it wasn't me .
It wasn't me guv
Dude just looks like a tax inspector
Just another 'bad choice of words', of course.
Vindictiveness culture at the POL …
Yet another jobsworthy in a senior position at the Post Office. What sort of management recruitment and development process do they have? Given the obvious lack of competence displayed by them it is hardly surprising it is a failing enterprise.
Allegations... ffs ...
Sugar or salt with your porridge this morning inmate?
More like Rod Dismay, amirite?
All of them are sorry because they’ve been caught during this inquiry. They all knew what they were doing. They ignored all who spoke up. They’re so much wrongdoing everywhere you look. They’re not sorry because they’ve been caught. They’re was no catching. If mr bates v the post office hadn’t have come on tv and into our screens then really this would have lasted beyond 20years. The whole thing boils my blood. Everyone who knew other than all these people here just sat on the information. The knowing… these people also should be going to jail. Why aren’t the police acting…. That suggests they’re not bothering either.
What a load of rubbish he's talking.
What was his earnings during this scandal.... Who is paying him to pretend.... Can they arrest his WhatsApp messages like they did the Scottish government's during covid
He's not a lawyer, just an accountant. He has no IT expertise. He had responsibility for branches being honest and profitable. I cannot see the problem with him, in his position, wanting all available tools to explain why Post Office could rely on Horizon.
In my view, Singh and Jenkins and Altman KC are culpable, and upwards from there. This man, however, doesn't appear to have the self-serving imagination warranting jail time.
If he's "just an account" the auditing the accounts and procedures should have been instigated not going along with prosecution of post masters
Unless Paula Vennells instructed him not to 🤔
@richbrown8174 He didn't have anything to do with prosecuting subpostmasters. He was asked whether Horizon was robust, and he said it was. He later found out it wasn't and his "crime" was not to go back and amend his previous advice.
He's guilty of not paying attention to an issue which only hindsight tells him he should have focused on.
Clueless
Ro Dismay.
It's disgraceful, before each post office representative answers the questions they look at the laptop screen in front of them and the Post Office Barrister who is listening in providing them with the answer they should give. It's like going into an exam at School with all the answers on a notepad. How on earth is this legal, it's to make sure the Post Office doesn't get sued.
What on earth are you talking about..? You do know the documents Mr Beer is asking questions about are on the screen in front of the witness, please tell me you do.
Nope they are NOT in contact with a PO defence barrister, what Mr Ismay is looking at on his screen is documents the prosecuting KC Jason Beer is referring to and making Mr Ismay read and comment on
I'm guessing the you're new to this story. Your response is typical of how false information gets reported.
On top of all of the unsavoury goings on I was deeply unimpressed by the chair being "not prepared" to work late on a Friday. Given the importance of proceedings to hundreds of wronged individuals I found this most disrespectful. An extra half hour isn’t a great deal to ask. Even worse he actually wound things up early. POETS day really shouldn’t be happening here.
Yes I thought the same very wrong
Hell-bound for sure.🔥
