    I really like that red paint on the hammer idea.

    Using a drill and steady hands to add small dimples to the front and rear sites makes for a very nice upgrade too. It will hold the paint/nail polish better and make it last a lot longer. I used glow in the dark nail polish on mine.

    This is an excellent pocket carry gun. It's light and slim and no one knows. I have the original in 380 and I like it so much that I bought the lcp 2 in 22lr. The ramp was polished at the factory. It's well designed and a great gun for pocket carry.

    A +2 or +3 round grip extension also gives a nice, nearly full sized, grip and with the decent set of sights these have, this gun becomes a super solid shooter and you can really rock it at defense distances and even get quite fast and accurate hits at 25 yards. And this will always be light years more comfortable and concealable than anything else on the market.

    I added a grenade launcher and a nice scope on mine. A hogue sleeve helps a lot when shooting the grenade launcher. My lcp 2 is a beast now and my favorite concealed carry weapon.

      Been riding bicycles (road & off road)
      since the early '70s, for fun/exercise, trying to stay in at least 'decent' physical shape. So often use sections of 'old' inner tubes as grip 'enhancements' on pistols.

    The only thing I did to my LCPII (summer carry) is paint the front sight white, put a Hogue Hand All grip sleeve on it, and put the Mag Guts +1 spring kit in the mag. I carry 7 in the mag, and 1 chambered. I also have a Garrison Grip Trigger Stop for an extra bit of safety when carrying Condition 1. I love my LCPII - very reliable, easy to strip and clean, and eats any ammo I feed it!

    Have found non glare 'flat' white and florescent orange Testors brand modelling paints to work well on gun sights. 'Hi-vis' in sunlight! First, degrease (with thinner or denatured alcohol and Q-tip) the surface and let it DRY WELL. Might want to mask it off too. I use clear 'Scotch'/'Magic' tape for masking and a round wooden toothpick to 'smooth' it down to the metal. This tape leaves very sharp edges when pulled off at a reverse ~180 degrees! These old eyes really appreciate it! Oh yeah! I also have a flip up/down headband magnifying glasses/hood or I wouldn't be able to see WTF I am painting!

    i just got the LCP2 and you can see if there's a round in the chamber , looking at the extractor area of the barrel there's a gap there and you can see when a round is in the chamber.

    • @What-is-happening
      @What-is-happening 3 роки тому

      You can also feel the extractor. If it’s flush with the slide there’s likely a round in the chamber, if it’s below the slide there’s likely not a round in the chamber. I wouldn’t trust that to clear the firearm but if you have a malfunction during a situation and in low light it’s an easy way to identify at least a case in the chamber( hopefully a loaded round from the mag and not an empty case from the troublesome round that caused the malfunction)

    add magguts + 1 spring to ur mag for 7+1 to keep it the original size and get the 7 round ruger extended mag as a backup which also give u more purchase on the gun while shooting it or drawing it. I like the small mag for pocket carry and the extended mag for in the waistband carry.

    Additions to the Ruger LCP II in .22 LR: Hogue rubber grip improves narrow grip allowing better control; TandomKross Wingman + 4 magazine extension, adds 4 more rounds to 14, allows all fingers on grip further improving control; Armalaser TR12G green laser sight with auto on grip activation easily sighted in with Boolit boresighter, match the two lasers, easy, close enough. CCI Minimag 40 grain round nose for most reliable ordinary shooting, occasionally CCI Stinger HP for specialty shooting.

      I do the same thing (watching videos). I purchased the LCP 2 finally and couldn't be happier. Mine is reliable and accurate for me out to 10+ yards. It is a small pistol and snappy to shot. This little thing is so easy to do concealed carry I don't have an excuse to leave the house unarmed now. Very pleased with the purchase. I hope my experience with it helps you in your decision.

      I just bought mine 2 days ago. After watching endless reviews and reading other peoples comments. Read a few bad comments as well as watched a few bad reviews about the gun. But I'll tell you first hand, I did only put 100 rounds of winchester white box through it yesterday. But man... do I really like this little gun. I've shot guns just as small such as the DB380, LCP, Bodygaurd, Bersa Thunder 380 (little bit bigger than the first few) and others. Man this is my favorite mouse gun ever. The trigger is sooo nice and has a crisp pull, the slide is easy to pull, the mag release shoots the mag out which I really prefer, vs other small guns where you push the release and it pops out like 2-3 centimeters then you have to pull it out. It's really that great. I was getting very accurate shots at 10-15 even up to 20 yards. I suggest buying this gun, it's too good for the price.

      get the lcp max instead. it just came out and it's basically the same but with a few major improvements. it's double stack for 10+1 and it's got nice dovetailed night sights. through some necromancy and space magic it's somehow only a half inch taller and almost identical in every other dimension, so it's still small enough to pocket carry if that's your thing, but it feels much better to shoot than the standard lcp2. lcp max does cost a little more but if 40$ is a deal breaker then you probably couldn't afford the 400$ lcp2 to begin with.

    I see comments about polishing the feed ramp. What do you use for that? I had a feed issue and an eject issue in the first 20 rounds. Since then I have put about 70 more rounds through of different ammo, including a few defensive rounds. Seems okay now.

    • @TheGoatMumbler
      @TheGoatMumbler  3 роки тому

      The smaller pistols can be a bit pickier on ammo as the feed ramps are small. Find the one that has the bullet profile that works for you. You can polish the feed ramp with a Q Tip and Flitz or a Dremmel with a soft bullet pointed polishing tip.

  • @DontPressA
    @DontPressA 6 років тому +2

    Anybody have a recommendation for me? My lcp II won't load a round into the chamber easily when the bullet face comes off the feed ramp and touches the top of the chamber. The only way to ensure the gun goes into battery is to drop the slide lock and let it sling forward, but even then you can feel the round catch but seat properly. Should I polish the chamber? Even the brass looks scratched at the very edge after firing.

    • @TheGoatMumbler
      @TheGoatMumbler  6 років тому +1

      Check for a machining burr and try some other ammo after you clean it well. If it continues to fail send it back.

    • @DontPressA
      @DontPressA 6 років тому +3

      TheGoatMumbler thanks for the reply. The problem was the sides of the chamber. The bullet face would start to tilt upward upon the slide coming forward and get caught on the sharp edge of the sides. I took and polished the feed ramp and used 2000 grit sand paper with oil and took the sharp edge off. Worked flawlessly for the last 350 rounds.

    • @mr.sirhoffer5553
      @mr.sirhoffer5553 5 років тому +1

      Mine did the same thing out of the box with hp ammo...all i did to avoid the hangup was to give it a good sling shot or drop the slide when loading the first round..after about 25 rounds or so that problem disappeared. For me it was just another real life reason to carry a round in the chamber.....I have not yet had a problem with ammo hanging up when firing. My advice is to take it to the range and put a few mags through it...that should do the polishing for you. (Disclaimer: I am one who believes a gun should not require a break-in period for reliable operation....it should work out of the box....what I am describing is a "break-in period" to make loading the first round easier.....the LCP2 in my experience does not need a break in period for shooting operation.)

    Can you explain how the red paint makes it safe? Adding red paint to the hammer does not make it any safer at all. This weapon is ALWAYS cocked when a round is chambered. No need to see it. The gun is just as dangerous. This is a very dangerous gun and should never have a round chambered until you are ready to fire it.

    • @momurderah
      @momurderah 4 роки тому

      Just curious, why is this a very dangerous gun? Seems to be safer than the old Bryco/ Davis 380s that had a really crappy firing pin retainers that could be released by bumping it.

    • @bobhuddleston8883
      @bobhuddleston8883 4 роки тому +1

      @@momurderah I have the LCP and LCP2 and will not carry them chambered in my belt because in reality there is a cocked and chambered round pointing at my goods and without any physical safety to block the hammer from contacting the pin, It is not a gamble I am willing to take. There is no safety at all on this gun except the half cock which probably wont stop a drop fire. With an empty chamber then this is a relatively safe gun. I love the LCP other than I cannot keep it chambered. I am buying a .380 SHIELD for a carry because Ruger don't give a safety option. IMO Thanks. :)

    • @elche1976
      @elche1976 3 роки тому +1

      @@bobhuddleston8883 actually there's several safeties. 1- the trigger safety. 2- the internal mechanism which prevents it from firing when dropped (yeah, look it up, it's safe). And 3- the noodle in your head. If you're worried want this randomly going off... The issue is you, not the gun.
